It's pleasing to the Lord is seeing people following in the footsteps of the son, who sacrificed himself for our sins. A big part of following the teachings of Jesus, is to love one another without condition and turn the other cheek. Forcing people to accept God is not what the Bible says, but gently gathering them into the flock is. These MAGA Christians are committing blasphemy against God, every day.

Jesus told his followers to go into every nation and preach the gospel. That was one of his commands to his followers. And also to the ends of the earth. Today we are preaching a watered down cafeteria style Christianity. If you deny me before man, I will deny you before the Father. Christians are denying the full truth of the gospel. This nation by the way was a Chrstian nation and patriotic Now you are not allowed to be both. Like Jesus said would he even find faith when he returns. We are to be in the world, but not of the world, however today most people are of the world.

Yes, James Talarico is bold in the Lord. A breath of fresh air.I too was surprised that he’s a Texan .I’ve been heartbroken for our nation/USA ever since 45 was elected. I feel heretical at times, having come from a very conservative church. Fear is how many of us were/are kept in check. My children and I had lively discussions about Bush, 911, Republicans etc. I am grateful they taught me much, I began studying also. My helpful husband pointed out that the R’s were espousing hate during McCain’s campaign. I campaigned for Senator Sanders in 2016, in Wyoming. Voted for President Obama twice and President Biden. We have been able to maintain relationships with our trumpian relatives. I wasn’t about to let him steal family no matter their views.
Conservatives are easy targets for Christian Nationalism. My children pointed out that I was blindly patriotic. It creeped in the back door of the church years ago.
Now, they’re goose stepping in the front door. Thank you, Rev Ed for being true to the Gospel. You are a blessing.

It was people's assumption that Jesus, as the Messiah, would be the king of Israel and make Israel a powerful nation and overcome the Romans, and they were ready to make him king. Yet, even though he was literally the Son of God, he refused that position. He even told the Roman official Pilate that he was a king but not an earthly king. If Jesus did not need earthly power or to conquer nations, then why do we as his followers need to?

Something I badly needed to hear this morning. I will be watching this one again. I'm in the USA. When I was an Evangelical for 30 years, I believed that I WAS seeking to "act justly / righteously" (by taking a firm moral stand against sin and heresy, to confound the wicked and protect the foolish from their own folly), and "love mercy" (by offering the unregenerate and backslidden a chance to "repent", i.e. submit to orthodoxy and sound doctrine), and "walk humbly before God" (by mortifying my own desires in strict obedience to Scripture). That's why it's so hard to get through to folks who are still in the cult. They really believe that they're trying to do God's will. I managed to keep myself ignorant for so long because I was taught NOT to extend tolerance, empathy, and good-faith dialogue to "unrepentant sinners" and "heretics" (like Liberals and Progressives and gays), who might prey on my sympathies and deceive me into affirming their error. It's not a fun way to live!

I recall Paul Washer in a sermon saying when Jesus returns, he'll point with an outstretched arm saying "Mine, mine, mine." What do these people think they can acquire for God that God doesn't already own? These kinds of things always bring my thoughts to the sermon on the mount when it comes to false teachers and bad fruit. More people who profess Christ need to spend time examining themselves through that sermon as I did years ago and still do today. It earnestly changed me for the better.

True enough, Rev. Ed. Every "Christian Utopia" I have ever heard of has turned out to be a miserable--and misery-making--dystopia. If there is a god, he already has territory. It's ALL his/hers/theirs. It makes more sense to me to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly." Do good for the beings you live among--love them care for them, help them. If that's not enough, nothing else will be.

I always want the verse from Micah to read: to act justly, to love MERCIFULLY, and to walk humbly with your God. I just think there's something so passive about "loving mercy," as if we could watch someone else grant mercy and say "I love that," but not really fully commit to loving others with mercy in our own hearts. Just my own personal quirk, but I'd love it if all self-professed Christians would love each other mercifully! I think it would be a better way to bring about the Kingdom of God than occupying land as an offering to God.

Thank you Rev Ed for this beautiful message. Jesus did not practice domination when he walked among us. Jesus wanted us to learn from him about how to live with love, mercy and compassion for others. Jesus himself said that the 2nd great commandment is to Love your neighbor as yourself. When we are being told directly or indirectly to set up systems that dominate our neighbor and impose our will on our neighbor that is in direct opposition to the teachings of Jesus. Thanks for shedding light on this.

What if he appears as a Muslim Palestinian woman? they will call her Satan inspired.

    God, who created everything
does not need us to get things for Him. Jesus said: " Love God with all your heart, and your neighbour as yourself."
If one wants to offer God something meaningful, surrender one's self to God, body, soul and life and do NOT
ignore our neighbour's needs and suffering, no matter how different our neighbour is from us.
" A forced Christianity is void of virtue." God wants genuine
    love and devotion.

Okay I don't think that God or the Creator or Divine Source or whatever you call it and Jesus have anything to do with any religion. Jesus loves everybody from all religions and all walks of life . In general religions indoctrinate... I'm a recovering Catholic and I can tell you that the fear of God was put in us and I don't fear God at all now after a spiritual awakening. The same with Lutheran and some other religions like Jehovah Witness or whatever else is out there too many to count.
Also, we all are already ONE. That's the whole purpose of life on Earth is to love each other and help each other and be generous to each other in order to all feel the ONE connection.
