      It sounds different than a Phase 90. It makes a good BiPhase alternative though when being used in manual mode as a filter

      Yup! They sound about the same. I did a comparison here: czcams.com/video/DImXRZ_ebCI/video.htmlsi=F8tTR2OIQLH6jUtB IMO, the best Pumpkins Muff is the SUF Pumpkin Pi. It’s bottom end stacks differently when multitracked. That said, my favourite all rounder is the Wren & Cuff for aesthetics. It sounds identical to the reissue though.

      For recording rhythm tones, that’s about it. For playing with people, I prefer using the biphase in parallel so you can get a blend of the biphase muff and the unaffected muff. Something along the lines of the Gig Rig Wetter box is great for this.

    Killer job, you got closer than I've heard anybody get! I've found you can get pretty close using the Eventide H3000 Band Delays MK2 plugin. There's a preset called Band Pan that does the bubbly thing. You can also select the 4 delayed notes + another 4 notes if you wanted. It's a fun plugin for sure.

    I think you can use an expression pedal on the deco and sweep the lag time. Would act like an Electric Mistress sweep. Could be wrong, but I just bought an expression pedal to try it. Also I regularly use the MXR Q Zone as a filter effect - gets the Mick Ronson Ziggy Stardust sound or the Rocket filter sound.

    • @EddieClark
      @EddieClark Před měsícem

      That would definitely work as well for the intro filter sweep on Rocket. I use the Deco lag time to get a filtered sound with the Big Muff and it sound great. Not quite the same as Siamese Dream like the Bi Phase but I think it’s generally more useful from a live perspective.

    I made a helix preset for the cherub rock solo and it's a lot of the same effects you're using. I use their "retro-reel" and that's pretty much what the strymon is doing here. I have the synth running parallel at one point in the chain with the mix down to keep it sort of subtle. I have their mutron bi-phase model on there as well. I can't remember the exact amp model I'm using, it's either a JCM 800 or JCM 2000, with the drive up and a good amount of mids, and a treble booster into a big muff model. I can't remember if I put any other modulation on it. I might have done a chorus or a very slow flange set very low. I think I also used a wah set on one frequency with mix down to about 40 or 45 just to get some extra pop on the mids.
