    Lyrics:
    Quiet, I am sleeping, in here we need a little hope
    For years I've been sleeping helpless, couldn't tell a soul
    Be ashamed of the mess you've made
    My eyes never forget, you see behind me
    Silent metal mercies castrate boys to the bone
    Jesus, are you listening? Up there to anyone at all
    We are the fossils, the relics of our time
    We mutilate the meanings, so they're easy to deny
    Be ashamed of the mess you've made
    My eyes never forget, you see behind me
    Quiet, I am sleeping
    Quiet, I am sleeping
    Quiet, I don't trust you
    Shut up, shut up, I can't hear you now
    Be ashamed of the mess you've made
    My eyes never forget, you see behind me
    Behind me, the grace of falling snow
    Cover up everything you know
    Come save me from the awful sound of nothing

    Extra blurry for your pleasure. Love it. "Marquis in Spades" from the Aeroplane Flies High Boxed set always gave me similar vibes to the ones I get from this song, like "Quiet" got older, slower, more bitter, and joined a hate group.

    I've literally spent years learning almost every corgan guitar solo I think you actually commented on my soma solo cover...I have to admit you hold the best quiet solo rendition on the internet.. bravo

    Nailed it. I remember my band in high school trying to cover this. Inspired by the version on Vieuphoria, I tried to do some weird harmony intervals with a Digitech Whammy (I think it was the b3rd and 3rd setting, which gives weird dissonances). It was fun times.

  • @MatthijsKoningstein
    @MatthijsKoningstein Před 2 lety +1

    Awesome cover! Question: how did you create the backing track? I do hear Billy in the background, so it seems to me you used the original song, but somehow cut down the vocal track. I've been struggling with this as well.

    • @EddieClark
      @EddieClark  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! I removed everything except the drums. There are artifacts that remain as ghosts. I use "Drums Extractor" on an iPhone most of the time. My Cherub Rock cover is the only one I had another option for so far.
      I re-record all the tracks myself ontop of the extracted drum track.

  • @SWizz871
    @SWizz871 Před 2 lety +1

    Hi Eddie! Thanks so much for reaching out on the TPS QnA yesterday. Did you just record the rhythm with those four layers and pan them? or are there more guitar tracks underneath. Thanks!

    • @EddieClark
      @EddieClark  Před 2 lety

      No worries! This was recorded two tracks per side and a lower volume center track to glue it together.

    Dude These are all so good and I’ve tried to copy what you did on your how to sound like video but I’m still missing something and idk what it is🤦🏻. Is there anyway you can make another video on how you got your tone and maybe show what you did on amplitube and the mixing process?!?!

    • @EddieClark
      @EddieClark  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely. I'm prepping to do a deeper dive into how to hit these tones with a bigger focus on Amplitube but also the separate individual SD lead sounds.

    I usually just turn it all to ten then lower the tone till it sounds right
