As a Mets fan for life, I regularly recorded Mets games and kept many. Each of these are videos taken from my personal collection and no copyright infringement is intended. I only post my own content. Unless noted otherwise, these videos were originally recorded digitally via capture card and transferred directly to DVD (no VHS). I'm in the process of ripping my collection from these 15+ year old discs which have reached their shelf-life, and I wanted to give back to the Mets fans and classic baseball collector community. Please feel free to reach out and say hi!

Greatest game ever played. Bob Murphy and Gary Thorne on the broadcast for the Mets. I haven't seen this game with the alternate radio broadcast available anywhere in its entirety and thought it would be fun to create. Note: there are moments where the audio will be silent because their broadcast came back following TV resuming. Same for when TV was on break, but radio resumed, I left the scree...

Mike Piazza - Road To The Hall Of Fame (2016)
As I watched this video in July 2024, it made me cry. Gary was and has always been my all-time favorite player. It is 2024. Gary has been gone for 12 years, and it is still sad to this day.
Nobody could hit that curvebal. He would have been a HOFer.
I remember watching a Monday Night Football game on 12-10-84, when the announcement was made about the Mets acquisition of Gary Carter from the Expos. Two of the players that the Mets sent to the Expos, Hubie Brooks and Mike Fitzgerald, were good starters, but I could barely contain my excitement at having Gary Carter, a true leader and bonafide star, as the starting catcher for the NY Mets! I remember my mom being a bit lukewarm about the deal since she had viewed Carter as being too pompous and full of himself. Needless to say, it didn't take long for her to realize that she had it all wrong about him; she became a huge fan of Gary Carter, along with the rest of that team. She passed away in November 1995 from a similar type of brain malignancy as Gary did, one month short of 55 yrs of age, far too young, as Gary was. May God rest their souls.
I've met Dwight Gooden , Good man😊
If Doc is not the best, he's definitely one of the best of the best. Whoever made this documentary is very far from the best 🖕🏿
Doc will always be the man !
As a lifelong Giants fan, there were few pitchers I really wanted to see pitch against my giants, but despite the fact that it would probably mean they lose the game, I always wanted to see Gooden at candlestick, and never was lucky enough to. He was magical.
Tom Seaver was my first sports idol. I had a mini Mets uniform on when he pitched and I'd throw a tantrum on the rare days when he got hit hard.
Go Nails!
Roids. Was horrible before PEDs
Keith Hernandez was a G
Never bothered watching baseball much after '86 as I knew it'd never be that good again. Love you Mookie!
I only been to Shea Stadium 1 time that was in 1991, my oldest sister had cancer and was in the Make A Wish Foundation. My sister, me, brother, mother and grandmother went with other cancer patients and their parents.
Thank you for sharing, Latasha. ❤️
Great Video 💪🏾💯
I was at Lastings Milledge’s first MLB game in 2006, and he gunned down someone either at 3rd base or home. Crowd goes nuts. Guy looked like he had a lot of potential
KH moralizing is rich
Why does a 18 year old need to strike out 300 hitters in A ball
My favorite Mets team by far
Thank you for the content!
High in this interview.
Doc had a self esteem issue, the lack of self confidence is most likely what drove him to continue to use cocaine. I've heard that the drug gives you self confidence. He needed a therapist, that could've probably helped him kick the habit while he was still in his prime.
can you imagine if the front office would've been able to take care of their investment? A sports shrink would've definitely kept him grounded.
@@MrBmick79 For a guy that talented hiring a shrink to keep him straight would've paid dividends the stadium was sold out on the days he pitched. He was putting up Bob Gibson numbers at 20 years old..
Dykstra reminds me of Denny McClain in that they had tons of talent but their fathers were absent.

Whatcha gonna do....Brother when the "Orange and Blue" run wild on you?!😂
It's safe to say the disappointment from 2006-2008 served devastating.⚾🇺🇸
Love that met uniform
I remember so well the incredible World Series of 1986. I thought it was only the beginning for the Mets. But it turned out that their dynasty was already crumbling.
Docs 85 season will never be done again
An Astros fan here. HATED Gary and all those 86 Mets. But daamn!- he was a helluva man, helluva player. And this was beautiful. Thank you 🙏
Bro, we had the greatest 7 game series ever back in 86. To this day those 14 innings are the greatest game I've ever seen.
One of the best players of all time,The best hitting Catcher of all time.Mighty Mike Piazza!

If Pedro and El Duque didn’t get hurt. If Duaner Sanchez isn’t injured in a freak taxi accident, the Mets likely go a in and trade for Roy Oswalt instead of Darren Oliver. Such a what if season
When i was a kid if you said name a catcher any kid wouldve said GARY CARTER
Love Lenny when he was on the Phils!
If Beltran hit a grand slam, we would've been in the World Series.
God I wish we could have Willie Randolph rn
Loved it when Tom would be on “Kiner’s Korner” after yet another victory. If he got a key hit or a home run, that’s all he wanted to talk about!
Seaver is one of a handful of MLB players to earn ROY and CY awards and win a World Series in his first three seasons. Further Trivia: who is the only player in history to win ROYand CY award and win a WS in his first season? Answer: Fernando Valenzuela, 1981.
Why is this a Mets classic?
Was Rickey Henderson a coach in that team?
😊the spirit of 86 was in the air that night at Shea what a comeback😊
Any chance you have any other 2006 games against the Reds?
Hey Mets Classics please add the Strawberry documentary into your collections.
13:40 That’s the New York I miss . Yes we were all of those things and that’s what made NYC Great !
Dam i was at this game my dad asked me if i wanted to go home wen it was 7-1 i thought about it and told him no lolll
Much thanks as always. Really like this era of Mets' ball games. Missed a ton of them that time due to the start of my college. Keep more of em coming please. Regards.
As an old soul Yankees/Brewers fan 😢 i may like watching the Mets and man... Mike Piazza made me shed a teardrop.
We’ve come a long way when it comes to stadium mockups
Please add the documentary Strawberry to Mets Classics
