- On a gorgeous Mother's Day at Shea the Mets take on the Brewers before a large crowd of 51,427. Oliver Perez takes the mound for the Mets and pitches brilliantly into the 9th. Oli gives up just 1 earned run while striking out 6. The Mets are powered by Damion Easley who ends the day 3 for 5 with a homerun and 4 RBI. Carlos Beltran chips in with a 2 run homer in the 8th.

So many great things in this game!!! Starting with Gomez debuting and getting to watch him run, we also get to see a near complete game from Perez, a Jose Reyes triple, a Carlos Beltran homer, all those stolen bases and running catches… it all makes me so happy hahaha
Thank you so much for what you’re doing. These games were of my favorite era honestly being in my mid 30s and being able to see these clips and full games is everything. So many Amazin’ memories. Keep it up! 🤝❤️
Four months after your comment, I just wanted to let you know that I couldn’t possibly agree with you more! This game in particular has so many great Mets moments that give me warm feelings inside. I was in my mid-teens at the time of this game, and I remember being excited to see Gomez debut. Sixteen years later, watching Chavez, Beltran and Gomez run down fly balls behind Perez still makes me smile!
