It's a warm and breezy Tuesday night as the Mets (43-26) take on the Reds (38-32) at Shea. The Mets send Steve Trachsel to the mound and he pitches effectively, surrendering 2 earned runs over 6 innings. The bullpen is stellar in relief of Trachsel spreading the workload across Duaner Sanchez, Aaron Heilman and Darren Oliver allowing no runs and a combined 2 hits in the final 3 innings.
The memorable moment in this game comes via Trachsel at the plate who hits his 3rd career homerun, and first in 8 years; a solo shot to left in the 5th.
The Mets also get homers from Carlos Delgado and Xavier Nady.
