this was awesome. seeing normal but fun people going on a fun adventure into pretty landscape, that doesn't require or focus on tons of additional equipment and technical expertise (which i can see you have) that I will never bother to learn, apart from a great version of a stock vehicle. nice video. would be great to see a winter version too involving snow covered roads and fireplaces AND whether to use 2H or 4H if there are mixed surfaces eg asphalt with regular patches of snow and ice :) ❄️ ⛄️ i relate to the enjoyment of the driving experience itself and your passion for high speed desert running with the ability to tune the Fox shocks on the fly and the focus on the thrills but without being obsessed with a whole bunch of other gear. i think there are plenty like you who want a fun vehicle who enjoy off-road driving but also want to focus on things like hiking, fat biking, photography, etc, and not on building some even more expensive and highly modified overland rig. maybe get Toyota to send you to do another one of these in Alaska or Canada?

I do a fuel system cleaning every oil change, and tire rotation at the 5K mile mark. My dealership gave us a lifetime oil change but Toyota recommends that the oil change is every 10K miles, but I still change it every 5K miles, so I have to pay for every other oil change. After I supply the oil and filter the change itself is $40. Our Toyota dealership uses Mobile 1 full synthetic oil, so that’s what I’ll stay with. I personally prefer Valvoline full synthetic but I don’t like changing oil brands.

I tried to buy the OEM kit at the dealership a few days ago. They told me they don’t make a kit for my 2023 SR5 v6 4wd long bed due to my truck having bed lights. Im not sure what that has to do with it though. The parts person called Toyota and that is what they were told by Toyota.

What they should’ve done is made the grill flat so that we wouldn’t have to chop it up when installing armor.

The engine is junk, engine overheating problems, blown transmission, gimmick seats, stupid JBL system with a gimmick speaker that comes out, too much tech that's not needed, overcomplicated AX, overworking the engine, too much maintenance, price is way way too high, and just flat silly. I will NOT be buying any Toyota any time soon.
