- In today's video, I visit SEMA Garage in Diamond Bar, CA for the 2024 Tacoma measuring session! There were so many cool things I did--including learning about some new features on the Tacoma (easter eggs), driving the TRD Sport and Off-Road, and comparing my own truck with the new one side-by-side!

Glad I got the v6 2023 Tacoma trd pro. Last of it kind. He’ll No to the turbo 4 cylinder
They look good and lots of new upgrades rear disks about time the main problem is the 4-Cylinder and no V6 I would never get a truck that has a 4-Cylinder. That being said The SEMA Garage looks like a killer place. Love your video's Chloe keep them coming and thanks for what you do for us in the Tacoma world.
Toyota has always made great 4 cylinder engines
I’m very happy to hear that there’s a lot of differences between between the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. Everyone on the internet would like to tell you that the Trailhunter is just a TRD Pro with different badges but I’m happy to see and hear that there are way more differences than I thought.
Same here! As somebody mentioned to me a while back, there’s no more slapping a TRD Pro grille on and calling it a day
The only thing that matters to ask is if the Turbo will have any type of longevity that the good ole V6. If not then nothing about the MSRP will be worth it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 the 2024 Toyota Tacoma look amazing good video Chloe keep up the good content 😎💪🏾
I can truly say that since I’ve been watching your videos, I’ve learned quite a lot about the 3rd gen Tacoma and the brand new one!! Keep up the fantastic work!! Thank you so much for posting these videos. Look forward to the next one. Just an idea. I think you should do a comparison on the off road capabilities between the gen 3 and new Tacoma. Take care.
Thanks for the kind words 😊
It's a beautiful truck for the people that can afford them. At the price of the 2024 Tacoma, I'd rather buy a full-sized pick up.
Yeah, always buy used...Compared to the 1st gen Taco, it's full-sized!
Maybe I’m in the minority but I prefer the look of the current gen.
That TRD pro rear bumper is amazing for a production vehicle.
This should be top comment
It’s just a bumper
Unfortunately, one of the things we do know, it will overpriced since the dealers are already doing heavy mark-ups over msrp for the their allocated inventory.
Give it a few months. They’ll calm down.
not all
@@jmpattillogive it a few months for what? For it get cheaper? Lmao that’s not gonna happen unless people stop buying
@@FizzleWick1 for the dealers to realize the party is over. People forget that it was once expected that you would pay less than msrp. Those days are already returning in some brands. After a period of rapid inflation it takes a while for expectations and reality to synchronize again. That’s true for both sellers and buyers.
Actually markups and slowly going away, and prices are coming down. Although Toyota has been known to not offer rebates.
Since I only have 11k miles on my ‘21 off road, the dealer keeps calling me and wanting to buy my truck and sell me a new one. Why would I want to pay an $8-12k premium for the first version of the new gen Tacoma? They will undoubtedly have bugs and glitches as all new gen vehicles do. The electric assist motor will probably be a problem for serious off-roaders. Love your videos Chloe!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would have been sold on this truck if it had a v6. Everything else about this truck made me want it.
I heard that foreshadowing at the end "... since I am interested in buying one of my own". Can't wait to see which color you get!
Very cool details for us nerds! Thank you for doing it for the enthusiasts community.
Oh yeah, it's great to have a Turbo . Engine won't last long. Burn the engine Up quicker.
That solar octane color is fire
High Tech stuff that's a nice facility has everything you modify a vehicle. Kool content Chloe.
I love how toyota listened to all the complaints that tacoma owners had of previous generations, and addressed pretty much all of them, while also adding new features. Ill probably wait a few years for them to work out all the bugs of the new gen, but I will more than likely purchase one.
Great video, very informative, thanks for sharing.
Really loving those Trailhunter features. Toyota obviously put a lot of thought into it. It's obviously going to be very expensive, but they'll still sell a ton of them. Hoping I can grab one in a couple years as my "forever" truck.
I think the best part about it is the near 70k price tag after all is said and done
I hope buyers hold off on the 24, stealerships are taking advantage of the market and inflating prices beyond a reasonable amount. WE as consumers need to take a stand and set our emotion’s aside. Coming from a long term Toyota owner, but this has become complete madness!
OK CHLOE, I'm sold on you, who could ask for anything more. Happy New Year!!!!!, I'm sure yours will be an exciting one.
Love it. I will buy one but I will wait at least 2 years because in our 3rd gen there were some pretty big growing pains/issues that Toyota still had to work out. My buddy had to buy one immediately and then his truck sat at the dealership for 6 months until they had parts to fix it. And I will most likely have to travel to Oregon again because the dealerships in cali suck butt with their mark-ups.
Your the right kind of person to buy one and show it yo us
Morse Code says "ACCESSORY READY"
Thank you I love your channel. I follow you here and on TikTok!
Awesome video idea!
Anytime a truck model is totally redesigned , it's best to wait at least 3 model years before you buy. That way if there are any bugs with the new design, they've been worked out by that point.
Thanks Chloe 👍
I'm watching this vid as I type. Thanks very much for this video. So far, I've found it very interesting regarding that short downward dumping exhaust pipe; the different disc brake rotor sizing which any specific Tacoma version might have; that there were even 3 antenna fins at all on the new TRD Pro; the front suspension control arm and shock/strut details. I just wish I needed to replace my 2017 Off-Road, which I don't, to justify getting the forthcoming 2024 Tacoma models. In a few months, I'm planning to buy a new GX550 Lexus, however (with Sequoia, LandCruiser, or '25 4Runner as improbable alternates). Still watching as I type, and thanks for the Off-Road driving, what little there was.
I’ve been driving the little Toyota trucks since 1984. Currently driving a 3rd generation. Until the fourth generation I thought it still looked fresh. I absolutely love the package options. Thanks for the great video. Best!
My personal opinion, I prefer the exterior styling of the 3rd gen. It's just cleaner and doesn't have all the weird angles that the 4th gen does.
Looks like Chloe is about to buy a new Tacoma new year, I think this is her 5th 2024 video
WOW!!! Awesome vid Chloe! Thanks 💯 👍
I like the off-road black gloss fender flares
Great video! There's Johnny!! 🤙🏼
I really enjoyed this video. I was at the dealer today hoping to see a 2024 model for the first time. Unfortunately, they hadn't made it in yet. I can't wait to get behind the wheel! Thanks for posting this✌🏿✌🏿🇯🇲🇺🇸
You're doing that thing you do again, and you do it O so well. You're getting me excited.
I like the new Tacomas, but my 1998 Tacoma SR5 4X4 still looks and run great. Haven’t had truck payments since 2002. Maybe in a year or two I’ll pick one up. Meanwhile I’ll sit back and watch how this plays out.
Nice job getting there for the event!!! Like others, I had no idea SEMA has this garage offering. Considering a sport for on road only truck, did u think the sport tuned suspension would be hard to live with long term?
Super cool that SEMA Garage exists!
As far as the sport for on-road and DDing, it’s fantastic. You should check out my first driving impressions video where I took it for a longer drive on a windy mountain road. That thing handles so well and goes up the hills no problem, so I’d say it’s more than adequate.
Great video, ma'am. I was very against this, but you helped me become more intrigued. I can't afford one for years, but i may come around.
Thanks for posting the video! They touch screen the more videos I watch, the worse it looks. Its huge. Can’t wait to test drive and compare std screen vs the huge one.
Looks like you can order upgrades sound with std screen
Great video and very thorough. You should get the PRO. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and knowledge on all Tacoma issue. Keep up the great work.
It’s a great looking Ford Ranger.
Also Chloe, when featuring vehicles in this video, the depth of field was so shallow, maybe 12” at the most, non of the vehicle details/features were in focus. You were in focus but couldn’t make out details on the trucks. Not negative, just trying to give feedback to make your video even better than it already is. Gotta say, your content, knowledge and presence all are working very well for you. Excellent work!
It's neat to see the 3d scanning technology...
Love your reviews over all the other CZcamsrs. I have a 24 OR currently in production should be here Jan. This will be Tacoma number 13. I have currently a 22 with a 2'' lift on it and 285's was wondering how the height was comparison wise with the new truck as yours is also lifted. Looks like it gained some height in stock form, would you say a 24 is about the same height as yours lifted? Thanks for all the content!
So when are you getting one? Merry Christmas Chloe!
that's exciting hon.
Great vlog. Fuel economy???? Also, a review of the new Land Cruiser would be nice......😊
Is it safe to assume then, from the comparison to your own truck, that the new 2024 Off Road is slightly lifted from the 3rd gens? I know it has near 33" tires but it looked almost even with your own truck.
Great video, Chloe! I'm very excited for the 2024 TRD Pro. Have you sat in the Iso-dynamic seat? Is that plastic piece behind the neck area uncomfortable? Just curious since I noticed the headrest in the TRD Pro doesn't look like it's adjustable.
I have sat in it briefly but haven't really driven with it, so it's hard to say so far!
Another great video. I want to get a 24' TRD OffRoad, but only have 15K miles on my 22', so not going to happen. The real questions is ... Which one are you going to buy Chloe? And what color?
Wonder if you will be able to, if you want to, when the value of your 2022 skyrockets like the 5.7L Tundra’s did
Full comparison video would be cool
I wish Toyota still offered the Cement color for their trucks. That color would look so good on a TRD Off Road or Trailhunter.
You will need to replace the battery of the Hybrid after 10 years, the old taco still on the road after 30 years 😁😁😁😁
I preferred gasoline
Gen 3 is better looking, will last longer, Tows more weight, no turbo, burns no oil… is smaller which is why I love it, and mine is almost paid off. Thanks for the content tho. ❤
Funny how the side by side…makes the 4th gen look as if it should have the bigger motor.
I noticed you didn't show the prices... but it is out of this world for a 4 cylinder turbo... a nice one is $50k and up!! I can afford it but doesn't make sense to pay the price hike with the interest rates... mind as well look at the tundra... good luck folks!
Did the TrailHunter come with a similar branded TRD intake like the PRO does?
Am I the only person who didn't know that there was a SEMA Garage?
The 2024 rear seat room is no better then the current so for me it's not worth the upgrade for the price. I think though the 4 cylinder will be fine though. When my grandkids get older I'm getting a ford crew cab of a tundra, provided they fix the problems plaguing it. The lack of rear seat room and poor feul economy is unfortunate.
Chloe!!! I need to know which one your are getting so I can get the same truck and do any mods you plan on the future
Curious, I have a 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport...I use my backseat for storage in the work I do. Does the back seat fold flat like in the 3rd Generation. Where the seat folds up and the back rest comes down completely flat with the hard plastic on the back...
I am debating pulling back my deposit for a 2024 Off-Road. I like the truck life style, but need the truck to be able to a truck which to me means haul, tow, and curb hopping. The towing is where the new Tacoma will likely come up short. I am waiting to see TFL do the Ike Gauntlet to see how it does.
TFL ..No thank you 😂😂😂
Buy a diesel for trailer use!
@@mojavedesertsonorandesert9531 why? Towing 25% of the time doesn't justify having a diesel. The only midsized truck a Tacoma can out tow based on tow rating is a Ridgeline. I am guessing it is drivetrain limited.
I wonder what convinced you to put a deposit on a first model year revision. You really don't want to be a guinea pig unless you have money and time to burn.
I remember when she had 8k subscribers now she is over 150k congrats 🍾🎊
Let me get this right, the exhaust doesn't extend past the rear axel to help with departure angles, but the spare tire still hangs down lower than the exhaust would have anyway? I know it's more centered, but that's still a problem. Not to mention they charge more for the truck with less exhaust components. I call BS on that.
Second, what difference is the departure angle going to make with the centerline break over being worse now that they have extended the wheel base?
Otherwise, a great and informative video Chloe.
I thought the exact same thing, also probably don't open the back window while driving
Decoded as "ACCESSORY READY"
Hi Chloe, I have the same tacoma as you and I was wondering if your gas mileage changed with the Overland Torque Tune?
Im 6' 3" and 235 lbs. My 2017 Off v6 4x4 manual transmission is very small for me. Does this have more room?
Do you own anything besides black stretch pants? Just curious.
Just wish they would have stretched the cab a couple inches for more leg room in the back
This was the first time I've heard about different sized rotors on different trim levels. Does anyone have more information on that?
Have you decided Trail Finder or TRD Pro?
Looks like a hundred extra hoses
THE 2024 LOOKS WAY BETTER LOOKING,AND BIGGER LOOKING
Nice truck but I was checking prices at dealers close to my house and prices are crazy for the new Tacos it’s a No to me,I will be stick to my 2014 Taco 4.0 v6 till the last mile..
Hi Chloe!
I've been contacting dealers for quotes on the 2024's. All the dealers are quoting Tacomas with way more factory installed accessories than I need. For eg SR5's and Sports have $7k+ worth of add ons that I wouldn't need. Do you have any advice for people wanting to buy more basic versions of the either the sr5 or Sport?
How thick are the trailhunter skids compared to the TRD?
I would say from watching this it looks to be less then half the thickness of the TRD skid very flimsy, Looks like it flexes when they pick it up.
Gimme a 4th gen engine and transmission swapped 3rd gen body c'monnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Never selling my 04 and 15 with the 4.0. Tacomas are all dolled up now it’s sad.
Tires and gear ratios also determines how the transmission performs.
I was so excited for the 4th gen but it just pales in comparison to the 3rd gen in looks and quality. The interior is too flashy and doesn’t look like a Tacoma anymore, you either get big tundra or little tundra. At least before they were distinguishable from each other. Now I can barely tell the difference at a quick glance.
The face of 3gen tacos looks more better then the 4gens
Can they new Tacoma 2024 be lower easier than the 2023 I love my truck to be low
Can't wait to find out what's so special about the new SR5 that it's $7k more!
Chloe....you are welcome! The Burnt Umber color look amazing.. I am wondering which one you are going to bring to the corral. Happy Holidays!
thunderstruck, hit me with your laser beam.
Did Toyota fix the rear-ends?
If I had the money I’d buy the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Limited in either red or blue
Already 5k markup in California 😄😄😄
The truck was long awaited but the pricing is ridiculous compared to competitors. Guessing the trd pro and trailhunter will be 65-72k
But if I can't special order one whats the point
The day has come that we dont have to buy rust buckets anymore with our hard earned money, thank you Tesla! Your actually looks better than the new one.
I’ve had two different Chevrolet vehicles in the past now I have a 23 Tacoma, so it cracks me up when I hear people talking about how the Tacoma‘s have throttle lag Because the Chevys I had were 100 times worse i mean i would press on the gas and i could literally say 1 mississippi and then it would go infact the first Chevy i had was a Malibu and there were a few times i could say 1 mississippi 2 and then it would go iv driven a lot of Chevys, trucks and sedans and they all the same story except the sonic i had it was still worse than the taco but not as bad as the other chevys I’ve driven and with the Tacoma I wouldn’t really even call it throttle lag. I would call it more like clutch lag or like gear changing lag. But it’s only sometimes it’s random i honestly don’t have any complaints about my taco its plenty quick and fast for me ive had 2 different v6 suv’s in the past and my taco is way quicker.
Glad you like it. But if you had the 4.0 v6 then it was a big difference in power. Alot of guys probably came from the 4.0.
@@brucey5585 yeah that’s totally true
Anyone find it odd at the beginning of the video how far apart they stood to talk? Also the dude that was showing some pretty cool features on the TrailHunter suddenly had a mask on? Did SEMA have some sort of covid rules in place?
I'm not overly impressed with the looks of these trucks and overall I'm pretty happy I got the 23 a few months ago. The new body,, infotainment system, and electronic steering are so bleh. Why do people need a whole tablet on their dash? Why does everything look like cheap plastic? I'd also want to wait a few years to see how the new 4cyl w/turbo treats people.
There are some cool upgrades IMO but if my truck died right now, and I had to choose a new truck, it would not be a 24' Tacoma. I would look for another 23' Tacoma or a Ranger.
Ranger would be the way to go. They been doing turbos for years now plus you get more truck for your money. 4x4 base XL with rear lockers for $38k
Go ranger, why get another taco if it dies on you.😂
👍👍❤️
my god yer gorgeous!!! but we need to get you into some lululemons..
Chloe please inform your camera operator to look at where the guy you are interviewing says to look instead of keeping the camera on the side and backs of heads. Please use a better focus setting too.
👊👍
not a fan of the body of the 4th gen... much like many new cars/trucks they are making them too modern/fancy looking for my taste. I miss the old 80's toyota pickups because they were so simple. Great video though! I find it interesting how many bells and whistles they add to these newer vehicles.
I just don’t understand why anyone would purchase a vehicle in the first model year with major revisions.
yeah look at the new tundra the first yr had engine problems and with all the electronics...
