    TFL and other content creators have to keep their comments somewhat positive for continued access in the future. I’d love to know what they really think about these vehicles behind-the-scenes.

      IKR? I would love to see if they really think the Taco is not a torture device to sit in day after day. My 2006 was bulletproof but an absolute pain because of sitting flat on the floor, bending down to see traffic lights and barely reaching the steering wheel when the seat was far enough back for my legs to fit. I'm 5'11" not tall.

      Every auto review site seems afraid to upset the manufacturers. Think of their legit criticism of the Subaru Outback, now they get no access to Subaru. Only Consumer Reports seems to be free of this entanglement.

      Honestly, what more can they do? I mean they do compare trucks and select one brand over another very often. But who really complains about driving any brand new vehicle? Even I may get in a brand new Prius and not have any complaints. May not be what I purchase but hard to complain about. On these, i do dislike how the camera shuts off after hitting 10mph. Should stay on like GMs.

I am bouncing between the Tacoma Limited and GMC Denali. GM is a big question mark on reliability and pricing is outrageous at this trim level for all brands. I am not a fan of light colored interior of the truck you filmed, hopefully Toyota has more interior color options. Will probably wait a while and see what unforeseen problems with these trucks develop before committing to a brand and trim level.

    The screen is too big and positioned too close to the occupants. That was the same in the Corolla I just drove. Makes for a “back off screen” experience. Would rather the screen be located lower in the dash (I know it’s located up to keep your eyes up, but don’t care; I don’t stare at the screen.) and vents and HVAC controls above the screen. That would lend to a cleaner dash design and easier user interface.

    The seating position of Tacomas has always been a problem for many people, myself included at 6'2" . I'm glad you mentioned this and indicate its ok. You don't LOOK comfortable, but I'll take you for your word. How far back do the seats move back? Far enough?

      Man..I hear you. I am 6'3 and I had a '14 Taco TRD off road and the seating was horrific. I would actualy get claustrophobic in it. When I sat I and looked straight ahead I was looking through the shaded part of the windshield. And like if I pulled up to a red light I would have to bend my head down. I have a Ranger Lariat now and it is amazing for a tall dude. I might go back to Toyota again, but only if it is truly comfortable and I don't feel trapped.

      All I know is my head was brushing the headliner and it was horrible. I live in Wyoming and it also sucked at elevation in the mountains. Powertain turned to soup at altitude. The biggest part I love about my Ranger is the turbo. So much low end torque. I might go back to Taco but it has to fit me. @@sc12100

      @jeffk464 Před 8 měsíci +2

      You ever try the Frontier? Ever since they went mid sized they have had a pretty upright seating position. I'm pretty sure Toyota was trying to make an offroad sports car. By sitting on the floor you could have lots of ground clearance without making the truck too tall. It was a compromise that really hurt tall people and anyone going on a long road trip.
