- In today's video, I re-gear my 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser to 4.56 Gears from Nitro Gear & Axle! This was a very big project for my Land Cruiser, but I'm happy it's done and that it accommodates my larger tires well. Thanks to E for the help and space to work on this project!

We originally found your channel because of the Taco 🌮 mods, but continue to watch because of your can do attitude and your always upbeat personality. Plus your videos are very, as you say step by step on the various mods. Where as some other CZcamsrs skip over details of a install.

Why i generally like such kind of videos: nice narration, mellow hip hop vibes, something good is being made or repaired. It’s so good to have workshop and do such kind of projects
I think the breather tubes were failing. The hot and cold expansion/contraction of the gear oil in the diff sucked grease from the wheel knuckles. The breather tube was the culprit that wasnt allowing the diff to suck air. It was sucking air and grease from the wheel seals so it mixed grease with oil and created black mayo as you mentioned. Fix seals, make sure breather tube is working properly.

Awesome content Chloe! More with the 80 please! I assume you re geared it for more torque for off road purposes. Solid content , it looked as if the previous owner attempted to quiet the differential noise from the front axle..

Not only should you wear appropriate clothing not to ruin your good clothing, but heavy canvas pants and an old sweatshirt can prevent a lot of soreness , scratches, and bruises especially working on that concrete........looking forward to more videos on the Land Cruiser!!!!!

Darn you should have done to Sumo transfer case gears, could have done the same 4:56 plus the low 3:1:1 without having to open up the diffs and for both gears around $1100. I just did and love it.

You would be great on a race team. Maybe on a drag race team. You would be able to keep your day job. You’re a great mechanic and you would be a great tuner too.
The 91-92 land cruiser is one of the worst money pits you can buy. Gets 10 mpg downhill, is super slow and can't get above 70 mph, and is so expensive to maintain. I have a white 92 fj80 as well, thanks for the videos!

Congrats on doing it yourself! My brother in law had a 1994 (IIRC) land Cruiser and he had the floating axel in the rear. What was the stock ratio before the re gear?

Thanks! No locker, Nitro has an E locker option but I think with my year it wasn’t compatible for some reason. I am thinking about air lockers, although it would’ve been awesome to add them in while everything was taken apart!

You're lucky you're smol. Working in tight spaces is such a massive pain in the bum. Every time I have to crawl under a sink to do plumbing stuff I think I catch some cancer. Only time I'll ever feel bad for 6+ feet guys is when they have to do some type of work in some type of super tight, small space.

8:32 you never press on the side. The press should be pressing evenly onto that socket so it doesnt kick it over
