That's it car drivers fill the air intake rather than push a small bow wake L. For anyone wondering why a truck would slow so much, other than the vehicles on the other side hitting water at pace can force the fan straight into the radiator, a quick way to waste about $8k on a radiator

I don't really get it, I keep getting these videos, showing the the same exact spot and people consistently keep wreaking their cars and I'm wondering .... How rich the mechanics of that area have to become, before building a DAMN bridge over that road ???

Typical 21st century police attitude at the end, doing nothing to stop people going through but set of after them because they've put their foot down to make it across - the only thing you can reasonably do once it hits a certain depth.

I must admit, we all laugh but if you don't know the area it's easily done, especially if you don't know it's there and are not expecting it. I nearly got caught out in a dip on a back road somewhere in the lake district a couple of years ago. Far too late to stop so I put my foot down and got through it. If I had tried to slow down I probably wouldn't have made it. You would expect the health and safety obsessed authorities to close the road or at least put decent signs and lights up if it was that bad.

Whatever happened to the rule that you go slow enough to make a small bow wave (not one that surges over the bonnet)? Love that they're getting towed back so their entire journey was wasted.

To be fair I think most people don’t understand how to drive through water. If it’s your first time, and car goes capput, you’ll prob know for next time.

I'm an EV-driver and the high water levels do not matter much to me. But I am impressed by how little people know about how an ICE (internalCombustionEngine) works. If you submerge the grills and air-intake beneath it, the engine sucks in water. The engine tries now to compress water with fuel, which can not be compressed like air and does not combust. Now your cylinders are ripped trying so and you need an engine replacement. Thats why offroad-vehicles have a snorkel to pull air from to prevent engine death.
