At the end he was looking for lost drivers laying around at the bottom of the ford.
Or for previously sunk BMWs 😄
Mine sweeper
It wasn't drivers, it was stop gas people.
Number plates.
Seriously considering moving to Nottinghamshire. The Police and council have solved so much crime and social problems that they can now focus on stopping people from driving through water must mean its one of the safest and best places to live on the planet!
Do you not think that the police have areas they just patrol, and they where in it when Mr boy racer was in obviously they haven't solved there issues, but I'm sure they do there best . So cut em some slack enless you fancy joining up and helping out..😂
Yep, the police are 'concerned' about a tractor going through the Ford, clearly they haven't got any serious crimes to be concerned with. And, it must be true because it was on the BBCs website.
@Daniel-S1 lol,..yes it must be all true because its on BBC website 😉
Were the Police driving the JCB? Its the council putting up the barriers.
@@russellprout723Yeah but it's cooler to criticise the police
Rufford Ford has become a national treasure at this point
Beats that gap tree hands down 😂
wise words from the toast man
It’s The National Treasure. Needs to be reopened 🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧
@@tubecated_development All world watching!
Its ok, an angry farmer will be along in a moment to reset everything to default!
A giant game of heavy skittles 👍
Hope so.
*Update on concrete*
Me: *clicks video* I MUST KNOW
One JCB driver, one “thumbs up” guy, one supervisor, 3 managers, 1 director of transport plus his secretary. Nottinghamshire County council at its best 😀
Meanwhile at the exact same time this was done as an urgent priority, downstream in Retford...
Not much of a JCB driver. I wouldn’t employ him on my site
Neither would I, but he is working for a county council....
@@wcel84 Give the fella a break. He was in charge of the tea urn trolley only an hour ago, until everyone else took at sickie, it's the council don't you know?
And all of that wouldn't have been necessary if it hadn't been for some tractor driver/farmer with a sense of entitlement. It annoys me that folk complain about taxes and councils wasting money but then do stupid things which cause the council to spend more money.
Can tell they're getting paid by the hour 😂. Those cones 😂
Didn't have their wellys on that day
Brilliant picking up the cones! 😊
A pro would have got them in 1 go
Someone grew up paying the claw games :)
They were extremely heavy too .......😂
The local newspaper is reporting that the farmer who moved the concrete blocks is now being sought by Police for dangerous driving. They are going to make an example of him for reopening the ford to send a clear message.
He can legally defend himself bringing his case in court as the concrete blocks were man-made objects put below the surface of water instead of being visible creating booby-traps claiming that historically the only road's problem was the water level, the case then strikes back to him because as per the warning the road was closed blaming him, blaming them back for the irresponsibility of the officials failing to move such objects in time to indicate the road's barriers creating other dangers to the public because of it eg kids, animals, mentally impaired persons etc and actually sue them for damages that occured to his equipment, aswell his intentions were not to remove them as he couldn't see them in the first place.
The case will be 1-1 and both sides will most likely be asked to back off being worse for the city for being unable to handle traffic in a spot that is well known for the accidents that happen all the time.
That is the legally sound procedure in a civilized country, in UK i don't know.
And the driver can bring the video up as well as proof I side with the driver being a farmer my self in nz well ex farmer but it still runs in the blood
20 years to life!
Given the number plates (the two different ones on tractor and trailer) are clearly visible in the video shouldn't be too difficult!
good
I think it was dangerous to leave low level barriers in place, hardly visible and dangerous
That's what I thought after the tractor crossing video,I thought he got stuck on a log or something then he came out dragging an entire concrete barrier between its wheels.
What's the point of putting up a barrier if the barrier itself gets flooded. Better put them higher in a dry place.
But there were also "Road Closed" signs by the roadside and in clear view of drivers, so that was at the drivers' own risk.
The incompetence is staggering
Indeed, one must always approach a ford of unknown depth at speed, and the low barriers were not easy to see.
@@1258-Eckhart A road closed sign means nothing without an road closed order. Do you know if there was one?
Really surprising if the tractor on the other video didn't have damage when it hit those concrete barriers at speed. Seems like each barrier is around 1.5 Tonnes! Why don't they just install several speed bumps on the approach?
And a couple in the ford
Probably because the road is closed. Installing gates which could be closed and locked when the water reaches unsafe levels would be better. It would at least mean the road is open some of the time. Saying that, going round the long way (according to Google) one side of the Ford to the other takes about 10 mins (traffic dependent).
Dude, this is a tractor, and a BIG one.
1.5 tons is a joke for something literally designed to pull tools who go in the ground
@@chaosflower4892 there is no need for a expensive bridge, without people wanting to risk the ford for shits and giggles there would be no traffic. It would be a waste of money.
@@chaosflower4892its only a 2mile round drive to a bridge you dont need vehicle bridges every 2 miles
Next episode: The farmer arrives in his Monster Truck complete with monster trailer and drives clean over the barriers...
Can't believe in 5 hours already almost 17,000 people watched this guy move some concrete barriers around
We just like seeing where the council has its priorities
You have to realise in Nottinghamshire this is about the most excitement they get 😂
Including you 😮
Those blocks are designed to be moved with a fork lift. Imagine if the JCB had some forks to use….
Not enough overtime . Use substandard tools takes longer 😊
The front bucket
Must be one of the local councillors must live along that road for anything to get done so quickly.
What a waste of time from the fun police to be coming along closing it down again, just open it up.
Am I the only one watching this who was thinking the JCB driver had just boxed himself in with the blocks at both sides of him?!
Not boxed, blocked!
@@CZcamsDeletesCommentsboxed works fine
@@aaroncousins4750 Yeah, but they're BLOCKS.
@@CZcamsDeletesComments and? He was still boxed in? If you get surrounded by cars, you say boxed in, not cared in
The simple solution is to create a chicane with the concrete bollards which will allow the tractor and cars through but the cars wont be able to build up any real speed.
That’s what the council workers was going to do but someone from the mill complained saying it would stop deliveries, even though when they was originally going to put the blocks in the delivery trucks and emergency vehicles would be able to get through when the Ford is passable. Unfortunately not everything can make people happy
I bet he knows full well that he'll be back doing it all again soon 😅
Serious question, why don't they build a little bridge there?
A long diversion if a resident has a medical emergency the golden hour...and a half !😢
I’m guessing the council only has this one JCB and it’s not up to dealing with heavier loads. Hence the blocks that a fully loaded county tractor can drag.
That’s got to be the cleanest JCB in England.
I hope my insurance premiums aren't going up because of the multitude of morons who make claims for their idiotic driving & damage they cause.
Only if you drive a BMW?
Plot twist: In banned footage the tractor also pulled out 3 BMW's, 6 Audi's and a couple of Tesla's.
What was he doing at the end, searching for number plates ! 😂😂
I think searching for any other road-related debris in or next to the Ford.
That guy has some serious talent.
Love the way he was sweeping the rear bucket through the water at the end, looking for more stones, just after he’d driven through that point not hitting anything 🤦🏼♂️
Not sure what your point is really, he was just checking for any other debris... I doubt you could do what he did. Stop making silly comments
I have in the past travelled through this ford on a motorcycle when the water was about 2 ft deep. As it has been only a few times crossing you must assume a rough base to the ford, I could not see the bottom. Muddy waters. However those blocks, which seem to move every program, would cause some engineer to loose his pension if not jail time. And then there is a light weight JCB trying not to rip out the bottom stones of the ford?
Don't ' you just love council contractors I'm really surprised there was no one propping up a brand new broom !
Probably out of shot 😁
I can't agree with you on this point. It wouldn't have been necessary for this crew to be out here in the first place if that tractor hadn't come along and moved the barriers. The public sometimes inflict these things on themselves and then complain about council taxes being high etc when it's all so easily avoidable. Doing things like this takes away extremely limited resources from other things.
@@Agnelum1 Are you a councilor?
@@Daniel-S1 No; I'm a taxpayer.
Trigger from Only fools and horses lol
This must be so frustrating for those local residents, having the road closed right outside there driveways.
They love the tranqulity no farm traffic no sightseers i personally think thats what its all about all the council workers this last week when Retford still in Nottinghamshire were flooded with little help exept evacuate !
I’m guessing the council didn’t want to pay for the proper movement of the concrete barriers by who ever owns / rents them out!
As I always thought that those concrete barriers had holes in them so they could be chained & lifted much easier then using a bucket / grab on a JCB? Just my own thoughts / opinion. Daniel.
Wouldn't want the "steering wheel holder/stick puller" to get wet!
Mal schauen wie lange es so bleibt :-)
The local tow company are upset ,, there cancelled next summer holidays ,8 weeks in Barbados 😢
Hope someone takes those away soon.
Why does the road dip like that? Was it built on purpose or is it by some damage? Watching it from Ireland, sorry, not familiar with the area.
Sunday working too.
A new episode of Bob the Builder! 😄
Small support area of the concrete block. This block can be easily pushed with your foot.🤣😂😇
Someone tell that JCB driver he has forks on the front 😢
Why all the hate for the tractor driver trying to access his farmland. It's the morons in their cars that are the problem.
waiting for the next tractor
I hope these barriers won't stop the ducks
'I hope this 1cm high bump doesn't stop me stepping over it'
The ducks say it's quacker's.
They can fly, I think they might just be able to get over them.
Watched a vid ,where the tractor drove over the concrete slabs , that we're not visible, put down by the council highways, hope his machinery is alright, 😮
He knew they were there and cleared them quite well
All thanks to that one farmer that drove over the barriers, then dragged one of them deep into the water with his trailer that wouldn't go over it months ago.
Always a party pooper about 😂
If that's the council doing that then it's the fastest I've ever seen them sort anything out. Charming ain't it.
this jcb driver probably can't even open a tight jam jar.
My best series on youtube ))
I wonder what the residents of that street think of the closure of the ford.
There are so many angles to this:
- Did the crowds and the speeding 4x4's give extra nuisance to them? (noise, unsafe traffic situation etc)
- Do they find the closure of the ford a nuisance? (they only can leave their home one way now)
- Did they maybe like the extra crowd, the spectacle and extra trade for the rufford mill?
tbh I would go nuts if a huge crowd would gather every weekend in front of my house and the local 4x4 club would be speeding like madman all day in front of my house...
The "self interest" brigade don't want to know about the risks to people's safety and the interminable gathering of yahoos with unsupervised children running loose. They are inconvenient facts. The place had become a circus and if I was a resident I'd be glad to have the road closed for the sake of getting rid of the unwelcome visitors.
Are these replacement barriers or the same ones that tractor and trailer moved out of the way?
Farmers will simply claim right of way and plough through regardless.
Good video again but the problem still not solved closing the door after the horse bolted again what is the solution answers on a postcard to Notts Council Highways😊
He needs a little more training on that JCB.
With a bit practice he could be average 🙂
Someone should tell them they need an ALL-TERRAIN FORKLIFT!
Looks like someone wants a nice little private road for themselves....
All that so a farmer can move them again.
Didn't the John Deer driver destroy the defence wall the other day?
Does this mean emergency vehicles have a bit further drive?
Local garages must be suffering a big loss of business. Several vehicles a day full of water must have kept them busy.
i thought its been closed has it been reopened earlier this year
Oh no
Why don't they just bolt or cement the concrete barriers down?
Will this become permanent? Or will the barriers be removed when the floods go down?
Permanent I believe. Floodgates which can be open/closed manually by the council would be better.
It's been closed for a year
Not permanent
Why can they build a bridge over it?
@@allygilmour6182 Bridges are expensive, and the road is an unclassified road. The alternate route, Golf Club to Wedding Venue (I think that is what it is) is 10 mins long. I don't know how many vehicles used the road as a shortcut. So, in the grand scheme of things, it is not worth the time, money and resources to build a road bridge over said Ford. Putting some gates in to shut when there is a flood would be more practical...and would have been more cheaper when you consider the cost of getting the contractor out to replace the concrete blocks.
Does anyone know how much the concrete barriers weigh?!
Why cant they just leave people be. If people want to go through it let them. Why the nanny state. 🤦♂️
anyway, I would be interested in what specifically fascinates so many people (including me) in this place🙂
Everybody loves a funny fail.

That people are dumb enough to drive through it. That people don't understand that it can write off a vehicle. That people don't understand how an engine works. That people don't wonder why so many people are recording and drive through it anyway. That people don't think better of driving through when they see other conked out cars in the ford. The psychology is fascinating.. also there is an AMSR component with the swish swosh of the water as the cars roll through.
It's a fascinating chaos that unites us who watch and makes us feel better about our own failings.
@@chaosflower4892 Nicely written, amen🙂
Wonder why Councils are going bankrupt and have appalling productivity??
If the ford is closed instead of parking in the car park( which I believe you have to pay) you could now park on the road where the events van parks for free ---- just a thought
Council got loads of dosh then !
Game over youtubers
Fail of a comment
its like a challenge, who can build the best battering ram :P
A small bridge would help or not? Too expensive?
Yes, too expensive, UK can't afford it.
Should send this video to the owners of the concrete blocks showing them damaging them👍
So they’ve now blocked off the entrance to the wedding venue?
Typical Council not knowing how things work - the highways manager needs to be sacked
One of these videos shows the CZcamsrs' hoard of lost numberplates and bits of plastic bumper. They got to the bottom of the ford before the council did.
The local recovery and repair businesses are probably gutted.
High water danger. So let's add some concrete barriers people can't see.
I think that means road closed 🙂🙂🙂😁
I used to watch a lot of Rufford Ford videos.
Why is this road at the same level as the river?
I'm also interested in why the road surface is not raised.
Do you not know what a ford is?
Right...like build a damn bridge already geez its 2023 not 600 B. C.
@@GrebbyIan I see, I thought it was something derived from a place name.
When I looked into it, it seems that there are still a few places left in Japan.
But this is what I enjoy watching. lol
By the way, this is Google Translate.
@@natewuester1615 ah. A bridge can be built. I'm a little disappointed. It was one of the few overseas countries I had pinned on Google Maps.
@@mash1012 when there is heavy rain the river flow is large. A bridge would have to have a large gap underneath to let all the water through, and it would have to be strong to withstand the current and the weight of large farm vehicles and lorries. It could of course be done, but it would be expensive. It would also need to be checked regularly to make sure it was still safe. There is no need to go to this expense as there are alternative routes nearby. The whole thing has only become a problem because of people deliberately coming to cross ford and doing so dangerously. It wasn't a problem for locals. It is because it became famous on CZcams and tiktok.
Why don't the local authorities just build a bridge across the stretch of water?
Is it true there's huge Halloween rave coming too rufford this weekend????
to Rufford
There is now...😂
Did that farmer come through again? The one with the John Deere.
I would have thought if somebody is prepared to fight the council the road closure could be overturned. It’s a highway and has been there for hundreds of years probably. Unless the water level is high there can be no valid reasons for closure
Idiots were causing a nuisance to the locals.
@@adrianthoroughgood1191That's the locals problem.
Just remember this when it's voting time 😊
If they wanted the blocks moved quicker they should have sent a John Deere
Why dont they just put a bridge in??
Next thing you know they will be having chunky metal gates installed .
£65,000 to have one gate fitted at Watery Gate Lane in Leicestershire. The locks have been broken off many times.
Why don’t the people just fix the underlying drainage problem and keep it open 😂😂😂😂
I have a feeling it will move again
It's a river with a road going through it. There is not a problem there apart from silly drivers that in the end got it closed
I was only following orders.
Whilst it was good how they re-aligned the barriers, I cannot accept this behavior in any way because this is a public highway, which should remain open to all traffic. It is the drivers' fault if they submerge and drown their cars.
Further, those concrete blocks would be better off in other areas, as useful pieces of infrastructure. I imagine there are quite a few seaside locations which require improvement of the tidal defences, to prevent or restrain the effect of coastal erosion. Alternatively these concrete blocks could have been used as flood defenses to properties that are close to rivers that are easily at risk of bursting their banks.
I've got to ask,
why not build a bridge like the pedestrians have?
The amount of flooded cars I've seen would have paid for the bridge 10 times.
Shame they couldn't find someone who knew how to use a JCB properly 😂😂😂
They probably haven't got permission to close the road anyway
When did Stevie Wonder start operating a JCB for the council ?
Your turn on the jcb today Fred ok 😳
This was posted last week ?
It wasn’t
This is unacceptable 😤
Wonder if the farmer got in trouble?
The local press is reporting that the Police are seeking him with a view to prosecute for dangerous driving.
@@tgheretfordThats annoying. I guess they are more upset about disrespecting authority than driving through a puddle with unmarked hazard in it.
@@o0OMouseO0oThe hazard would not normally be unmarked, it was only due to flooding that they were covered.
scary!! @@tgheretford
@@mcgherkinstudios Totally predictable flooding. Putting barriers down to close a ford then being caught off guard by a rising water level is like going to Antarctica and being surprised it's cold. Roads that go over mountains have snow poles to show the edge of the road when snow drifts, why didn't these barriers have something similar so their location is still marked above the water level when flooded?
The council would be held responsible if they put a sign up that wasn't reflective and it got hit at night despite being visible during the day, how is this different?
The end of days is affecting every one.
FREE THE FORD ✌✌✌
I see your video has dropped the fella in the tractor in it!
Why?
