Whether you sink or swim depends on the positioning of the air intake. On my car it's located at the top just under the bonnet. On the Transit van, I found out that it was located just above the top of the wheels. It was not so lucky. Glug glug. New engine. Expensive too.
Hate to tell everyone, You could have an air intake 30 feet high, you will still destroy your vehicle.. You would destroy it if you turned the engine off and pushed it through. Think of this... The rest of your vehicle; hubs, gearbox, axle, all have oil seals to keep the oil in.. They all also get nice and hot, and in the case of things like lorry axles, VERY hot.. Now, you go driving into that nice freezing cold water.. What happens?? I will tell you.. The axles, hubs etc are all suddenly cooled down. The air in them contracts, and sucks the water in past the seals. You vehicle is now fucked..
Thankfully I have all my drain holes open to let all the water out the sills ect. Also got rust protection all over the underside to protect from rust 😁
You can almost imagine a report by an alien life form on this slot saying there was only one sign of intelligent life existing on the planet at 3:35 amongst the many creatures driving the vehicles.
The funniest thing is that it is an EV (Polestar) and the only thing they would have to worry about is leakage, but they could faster if they wanted to without worrying that their nonexistent engine will break
@@green29373 I looked up the manual for the Polestar 2 and the instructions for driving through water were the same as for my ICE car: water no higher than sills, walking pace and even surprisingly the do not drive backwards.🤔
@@vwestlifeI'm aware it's called the Miata in America, however, it's a stupid name when Mazda have always used an MX abbreviation In every other country, which sounds better and is more logical, and, this video is in the UK, where it is an MX5!.
@@mightywatcher5894 Not smart, battery is in the undertray and no it isn't watertight. With engines you'll be sort of fine as long as intake is above water and you don't pressure the vents of differential / transmission. Better not go to deep though. Watery oil doesn't lubricate that well.
Let's go to the undercarriage car wash....oooo no, its flooded roads . No worries, let's put the pedal to the metal and everything will be fine😂😂😂 I'm pretty sure, Greta get a cardiac arrest when she sees the pollution....with oil and other greasy stuff, that left behind, after cars doing freestyle swimming..
#1 When you’re more worried about your 20 quid trainers than your 30 grand van…
I hate wet socks.
A little bit of Tomfoolery goes a long way 👍
That road should be named as moron Lane
😂😂😂😂😂Yes...or 🤡 lane
Or Splash Lane
I’m pretty confident that these cars and trucks are making waves.

Great location Tom, to replace our much loved Rufford 🤗
The trucks love the wheel wash
I wonder Tom how many number plate you have collected.Watching from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺.love the location
The Mazda 5, you should have put Jaws theam tune over the top of it.
1:28 unmistakable sound of an automatic gear change
The MX5 owner was very brave , he may have made it through, but the poor thing will rust away within the next 24 hours!! ( and yes I'm a MX5 owner😊).

Yes 😂
Great content as always pleasure to watch 👍😎
4:34 is that the same MX5 from 1:23?
I feel like I’m watching a motorboat channel
Is it possibles to show the depth at each location you filming? Like these vids. Thanks

That new Peugeot driver was only one with some substance in between his ears. The rest 😢😢😢
If a Miata can make it through, you know the water wasn't that deep -- people were just being idiots and going too fast.

does the volvo not relies hes in a electric car 😂🤣
can you film more of the drivers struggling to get out and pull the car back up? Nothing i enjoy watching more than that!
Volvo EV the smartest one yet.
🤣 its electric you can do what speed you want as no intake 🤣😂
@@mightywatcher5894 There are still max wading depths for other components.

As usual Volvo driver (Polestar) is smart) 3:35
I've watched quite a few of your vids and it seems that Renaults are pretty sound.
I have had a couple of older Renaults, they were pretty good at wading, high air intakes and the electrics were high in the engine bay
Oh well, one idiot off the road for a while
Splash Lane
Hey Tom 🙂☺️☺️👋👋👋
O'boy
Tom get it kit off

MX5's do everything brilliantly except rust
They do that very well, probably better than everything else
