Avoiding this bridge involves a diversion that takes all of 5 mins !
Yes, and that's 4 minutes 55 seconds too long for a BMW driver.
🤔🤔🤔😂🤣🤣😅🤣
@@ryszardlorenc7047A Peugeot driver would just crash into the bridge in turn avoiding the deep water
I guess it better to try to cut 5 minutes driving and getting stranded, having to be towed out, hydro locking your engine. Then driving 5 minutes extra and don't do damage to your car.
First question, why don't the police block this off when it floods like this? Second question, why doesn't the town/municipality do something to alleviate the flooding?
What world does that 5 series driver live in if he thought it could drive through that level of water. Had he been watching stringray before he left home?
Anything can happen in the next half hour, more like in the next 30 seconds.
@@locutus155 perhaps he thought he was going to cop off with Aqua Marina
It's their smug sense of entitlement. It fogs their brain and makes them a hazard to everyone else out on the road - except Audi drivers, who pretty much have that same smug sense of entitlement too.
@@ianbeale2527 I drive one but do not feel the urge to do that. Perhaps it wasn’t his car - that did seem the action of a company car driver!
At least the watch filter works!
Huge like! People worry about 10eur pants but absolutely dont worry about 10 000eur car :)

@@blakejohnson2862 Not really, the amount of BMW's that died at Rufford Ford is laughable. Pretty much any car is done for once water gets in the cylinders.

Driving in:
“Hey isn’t that Tom Sunderl… oh shit…”
Those landrovers here were driven pretty well
minus the one that ran over the cone
It’s amazing people in regular cars I.e not 4x4 off-roaders look at water that deep and just carry on rather than just being sensible and driving round another route 😆
3:00 love that standing wave
The magic of owning a landrover
Could be picky about your physics but, meh, sure
What do they think was going to happen? Really! Brains in their arse!
If they had another brain they would be lonesome.
Give the old geezer credit doing a Yoga PLank off the edge of his car in a flood LOL mans healthy for that age
😂
@@jdmguy44 lol 😄 it was impressive
On this week's episode of "I think my car can drive through a lake" a local BMW driver thinking his car was a range rover hydrolocked his engine, trashing the car and attempts to swim to shore.
Air intakes now are very low, even on some vans. Always know where the intake is on your vehicle before attempting water. That is the reason some vehicles have snorkels up the front windscreen and exhaust pipe outlets raised. Even if your gearbox is hot, suddenly entering cold water can draw water through the seals.
Nowadays, 95% or more of car owners believe the 'air intake' is the things in their dashboard, and do not have the slightest idea how a combustion engine works.
I don't know where it is and many manufacturers don't even tell a fording depth as in most places across western Europe you don't have fords to cross through on a normal public road
@@chaosflower4892 well aware how it works, still don't know where exactly it would be on my current or any of my previous cars.
Most cars wouldn't handle 1 ft of water ...
THIS. Lots of this.
I really hope the automobile insurance companies surf CZcams often whenever a Water or flood damage claim is made. The amount of evidence showing driver disregard is staggering. Inconvenient as it may be turn around and find an alternate route.
Water under the bridge with a couple traffic cones swimming in the water... Don't worry, we will be fine.
4:45 - Golf driver "I think I can... H*11 no I can't!"
~6:00 = Epic sends by those wagons!! 😃
If there is another route, the ones who stalled and damaged their vehicles have no one to blame but themselves, some people have to learn the hard way.
Amazing how instead of helping the first guy maybe push his vehicle forward they just stand there filming. Love the compassion on display here.
1:40......wipers still work at least 👍👍👍😍
I really like it when the thumbnail is the first video.
Happy for the video. Thank you!
Does any if these drivers notice that sign where you can clearly see that you are going to drive into two feet of water?
At least they obviously noticed the other sign telling them to slow down. 😂
He's delivering Cadbury's Milk Tray ....😂
Unless I had a Range Rover type car I would never attempt drive through that flood.
Just goes to show how thick some people are.
0:20 - "1, 2, 3 Another one bites the dust,..."
The day after it will be "1, 2, 3 another one rides the bus"
or how to go from Queen to Weird Al through a flooded underpass
ah...BMW drivers....they are the same everywhere.....and now i know why so many brits drive Range or Landrovers....of course....church hill road flood.....gotta love them.....next there will be JSO activists sat on both sides of the underpass.....
A deliberate act of stupidity, the insurance should be null and void.
That Vauxhall Zafira most have invincibility
Tom yesterday I see video at Rufford Ford heavy rain 2 feet high flood and building project bridge road.
3:29 notice how the water just pushes off the range rover?
When people take their air filters out do they think it's magically fixing the issue? They need to remove spark plugs, injectors, glow plugs to cycle the engine to empty the chamber
So they should keep the wet filter in yeah? And run here like that
Gotta start somewhere dude
@@shibarmyburnz1978 don't think you understand 😂
@GotNibbled so yeah they should run the wet filter yeah
Thanks genius
And the name for it is... hydrolocked the engine.
Thats when the air filter has sucked in all that lovely water.
And hope the conrods aren't bent 😂
Nice one very deep. 👍😎
In that age still lacking imagination is scary.
That thumbnail was a gift!
That Zafira surprised me , so did the electric hyundai kona
Zafira (this model) has air inlet above bumper - it is not "bulletproof" if drive too fast, but in slow pace, keeping water under grille, should be OK.
Ev's have no problems in water
Classic!
What a plank! Actually I do feel sorry for the guy. Quite an amazing thumbnail
Are cars like super cheap in the UK or something cuz like in Australia even that Hyundai Kona is $60k+ and I wouldn't dream of driving one through flood waters
Why doesn’t anyone have the brains to turn around and force a ford in reverse, which in turn reduces to a minimum, one might even say zero, getting a water hammer.
That's what I was thinking.
Seriously? Simply reversing in will not stop the air intake sucking in water if the water level is above that of the air filter box, which in most saloon and hatchback cars is probably no more than the height of your thigh.
Driving forwards uses the bumper to create a bow wave. This creates a lower water level for the air intake (as seen with the disco2 and rr). Going in reverse forces water up the exhaust, if this doesn't stall the engine, you have a mass of disturbed splashing water that will flood the engine bay and air intake. A lot of intakes are low down.
Love the content!
Videos like this make me think there are only one or two bridges in the whole country....
0:35 - obviously been to boarding school.

Thumbnail epic moment
What makes people decide to drive relative new cars into a lake, very strang psyche. is like putting your hand into a pot of boiling water
I work just around the corner from Church Hill Road and walk under that bridge often when it's dry, it's quite deceptive with how deep it can be.
There is an indicator of water depth at the underpass entrance (in feet and meters).
Probably most drivers are not aware of this non-standard signal before it's too late.
nice
Hahahhahahahahahhahhahahahahahhaha. Ye cannae change the rules of physics, Captain.
People forget that the drive/fan belt slings water, up into the air intake. I think that I would rather waste 5 minutes going the long way round.
Yep bmw driver thinks there are invincible 😅
Smart chappy at the end......
DOH !!! 😳🙄
Is there any alternative road?
That 530d is on Copart right now lol ‘runs and drives’😅
Love seeing those idiots in BMW's show how intelligent they really are.
I’m sure my car can also be a boat, LOL
maybe put a reporter at the beginning of that pit, asking for for the plan. would be interesting.
Some people just need to learn it the hard way)
After the storm, i wanna see the cars driving through the water
What a shame. Lovely 2020 530d ruined by foolishness.
guess air intake is low on the 5 series ive drove in deep water as that in a picanto without issue but always depends where the air intake is as i know most cars like bmw are low
Happying
Please god that BMW transmission wasnt still in park when being towed? 😂
3:08
R.I.P Cone
It also rusts the ABS rings , 2k to fix
4:23 I wouldn't take an electric car through that. No way.
The car did made it through, you're just scared.
You're far less likely to get stuck in an electric car going through a flood than you are in a car with pistons in the engine
You can't mess with the Chrich Hill road one even with the slightest rain never mind that.
Even when you have a 4x4 or van, it's a good idea to know how deep you can go before water comes in to the cabin, let alone how high your air intake is.
Why would you consider damaging your own vehicle, it has to get you home....
In all these various videos you have to wonder why these people don't look at the depth indicators which have been put up for their information and then compare the indicated depth of water with the height of their cills / engine above ground. Is it too much for them to stop for 10 seconds and think or are they thick?
Does it dry out ? The water from engine?
As long as they just got some basic stuff wet. The real issue is the guys getting water into the intake & then into a piston. Tries to do a compression stroke ... but with a decent amount of water, it won't compress and they end up breaking rods, etc in the engine.
My technique is reverse through, hasn’t failed me yet
What a fool, writing his car off over a minor diversion!
BMW: engine in the front…..it lifts the back and no traction anymore🤷🏼♂️
Seriously
Did the bmw guy have the car in gear when it was towed backwards? 😂 Goodbye transmission
Its amazing how many people don't know how to ford. If that 5 series at the start had stuck it in 1st and just idled through he would have been fine
how the bmw was not able to make it? the water did not even reach to the top of the rim. or do they have their intake sitting so low?
Why is it always flooded there
He must have no knowledge of how a car works...he must think he's in a boat 🤔
2:16 gg
Apart for the engine with water lock issues the interior will rot and corrode and get mold
Lannys smashed it
Great example of motorist mentality. once they are behind the wheel so many think no one or nothing should get in their way!
Who cuts your hair Tom?
Someone who works at a barbershop
Whywhy
BMW drivers remain BMW drivers, water can't stop them 😂
I was thinking more. ..supercar
😺
Why?
I'm not sure how people manage this. That's 2.5-3 foot of water. Most cars should be able to get through it if you go steady and keep your momentum... 🤦🏻♂️
I wonder if the 4x4 guys wait there and offer to tow out for a fee the idiots who drive through and get stuck in the flood water?
The BMW owners never fail to contribute to this drama.
Basic ignorance, people just do not know that engine breathe AIR in through the air filter and if water hits that it jams the pistons dead, know as hydro locking and the crank and Co rods will bend, wrecking the engine, they also do not know the insurance will not pay for the damage.
BMWs stand no chance in flood water . RAC man told me .
He was pulled out in park?
All he had to do is burble idle through, disconnect the intake or go around
