I love it when they keep steering when the car is floating.
Well, it worked for the Schwimmwagen.
Loving the floating FIAT. WTF is wrong with these people 😂
Love the reaction from the floating Fiat 500 driver who cried out to the guy filming her act of stupidity: “Excuse me, can you help me!” sounding rather irked and disgruntled that he was filming her moment of madness rather than swimming out to her rescue! 🤣
Terminal stupidity, a well known syndrome that affects many drivers when approaching deep water.
‘Excuse me. Can you help me?’ Yes! Here’s a couple of oars.
Red honda civic ploughs through like a boss..
Was that an EV version?
@@MattF340nope
Lol... was looking for this comment. Unbelievable
It always surprises me at how fast they go through. Like speed will help them get through quicker. Half these cars would make it if they just slowed down!
But they have their wipers on 😂
I don't think bow waves register!
I was the Blue Hi Lux 5:02 I was a bit disappointed with my bow wave, I need to try harder next time 😄😜👍
WHO drives through 4 feet water in a brand new truck and a FORD to boot?...OMG! (Another good one Ben!)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So the side he came in is deceiving. And the water did rise during the filming/rescue. It was around 3.5ft at the time of entry/fail
The mindset of the idiots who buy these things is they can go anywhere: clearly not in this case:
a guy in a toyota land cruiser
Ford's never liked the damp.😂
im surpised the honda civic was still running as she had the water over the bonnet
Shame about the Ranger , but I guess he learnt just because you're in a 4x4 or pickup doesn't mean you can pretend you're driving a boat.
He defo did mate. Front air intake it along the top left of the grill. And it slopes down into a. Lower airbox. Literally like rubbing a tap into the air box 😞
Absolutely, only around 400 miles on the clock too…
@@bengregers That's a terrible shame. Did he hydrolock? Was the engine badly damaged?
@@moragkerr9577 water was over the entire engine for close to 5 hours. And halfway up the steering wheel inside
Was new on the road this September
Car is floating and the woman’s asks can you help me? Only a brain surgeon can help her with a new brain.
lol. I did cut the video short as I went in to help guide her out but the car & her were absolutely fine in the end 🙂
@@bengregers That's really good to know.
@@bengregers great you helped out I bet she was terrified at that point.
@@bengregersah, so she just doesn't know how to reverse...
Last time i was this early Rufford wasn't blocked off
These videos continue to be comedy gold
Glad you’re enjoying them, there’s an end of year fail compilation coming soon 👀
Using engine as recovery point 👏🏻 Crazy!
I wouldn’t park next to that electric merc any time soon . If there’s been any water ingress to the battery pack , there’s a chance it could cause a short , or corrosion that could lead to a thermal runaway ie:- detonate
The off road ride height setting on the new Defenders is so high that the body barely even gets wet.
If it did get wet it would be in serious trouble. They are full of weak, sensitive electrics.
Nicely done as always Ben! I liked the long head on perspective here - I get to watch the doubt wash over the drivers face😂
Take probably the most expensive thing you own next to your house through flood water that comes above the bottom of your doors. As for writing off a brand new 50 grand truck. Brain dead 😂
That ranger’s lucky, it no longer has to get driven by an absolute half wit.
The defender is epic. Highest wading height.
The Ford thinking its a snowplough !.
Still can't believe so many take chances like this.
The folk that get me are the folk who stop right at the edge then floor it, it's like watching someone doing all the knee dipping 'hands in prayer' poses before belly flopping into the pool.
Looks like a fun day out, as ever!
Great video compilation, Ben. It's astounding how some people in smaller cars just plough through the deep water, almost as if they are oblivious to how deep the water is, while drivers with high-riding SUV's approach carefully and slowly. It's ironic! Thanks for the video, Ben!
The car/boat confusion is puzzling?
Wow. Steady very deep. Fantastic 👍😎
Every time I watch these vids I wonder how humanity still exists 😂
Thank you!
Excuse me. Can you help me? No! I'm not Zack Cousto😂😂😂
The all new 'Floating' edition Fiat 500, Titanic tribute model 🚢🤣
The idea seems to be, as soon as you hit the water drive as fast as you can 🤡 "It's ok, I used to be a submarine captain".
Merc skip truck particularly majestic... & Toyota (I guess a Hi-lux?) too! Damn these videos are becomming an addiction! 🤣
The number of people writing off their cars... OMFG!
They walk amongst us.😂
More worryingly, they drive amongst us
Has that ranger got the wet belt engine.
If not it does now😂
Why would you practice reversing for the first time in a river?
Glad I use add blockers folk like you!
I never underestimate the Stupidly of Humanity 😂😂
I do, all the time. I can’t understand how some people make it as far as they do in life.
That 500 😮
👇This is what you call free entertainment at its finest
Ford = Fix Or Refloat Daily
That Civic ❤
I drove through deep flood in my transit and six months later had to replace gear box and back axle was water penetrated.
⚠️I doubt the insurers will pay out on any of those claims........pure negligence and stupidity.
I sincerely hope they don’t pay out as it will load all of our premiums 🤬
Blue hilux showing everyone else how it's done.
Cheers mate😄👍
@@dsmithspecialisttransport2741 hahah that's you is it ? nice one ! I was wondering if you were on here
Incredible - scenes like this were very unusual, pre - covid 🙄
that guy in the ford Ranger is a nutter im sorry to say that Ranger is ruined 40 or 50 thousand pounds down the drain...
If you watch Rich Rebuilds vids on flooded Teslas, you will find a lot if the components are not fully sealed against water immerson. EV's may not fail immediately but water ingress & electrical gremlins may soon follow this kind of dunking 😮
that water got a lot deeper by the time it was rescued.
It did. It arises 4 inches during the recovery. I was on tip toes for a lot of it 😂
Yeah this Ford rises really quickly.
1:00 "excuse me! can you help me?" ROFL! No luv.
No chance insurance is paying out on the Ranger. 😂😂
But, my navigation told me to go this way!
If I had a pound for when I hear that😂 daily trust me…
What are those silly boxes for on the side new defenders???
Optional extras from factory
@@Discoveryjamie what goes in them though???
@@reverendodarn4295 it’s storage for their ego - takes a special kind of buyer to order the idiot boxes.
@@reverendodarn4295 it’s a £500 extra a ladder goes the other side. It’s just a lockable storage box tbh. Isn’t much room. They are an expensive box for me
You order a brand new ford ranger have to wait monthes for it to arrive. You pay either £29000 pounds at base speck or top speck £44000pounds . You only just got the car 6 weeks ago and did 400 miles . Then it rains very heavily and the road floods up to 4feet deep but you have a 4×4 go anywhere pickup and drive into flooded road the water comes up to almost top of engine and it konks out inside the water pours in half way up the steering wheel and under dashboard. They must have huge amount of money to waste or how stupid do you have to be . Wait till car insurance get call they will either pay out in full if so wait till renewal cost . Or they may not pay out at all because they will say how just how did you think or not think you could drive in 4 feet kof water . They are going to get huge bill if insurance dont pay out must be a special kind of stupid to do this ONLY 6 WEEKS OLD WITH 400 MILES ON THE CLOCK WOW MIND-BOGGLING
Was a Ford demo truck mate a Ford employee/owner
Это круто , крутые водилы без башанные парни едут.
wauw, just when you think you have seen it all.. realy wondering what they where thinking
😎 clip at end of video.
Expensive mistake with the Ranger 😮
I honestly can’t think what’s going on in their heads … might as well try driving to France through the channel..
that 4x4 ford headlight wont be cheap to replace
It was written off ya donut 😂
One question,
why ?
Just why would you ?????
In Swizerland all gas cars are illegal on mountain roads today.
What I can't quite get my head around is WHY you keep going with this nonsense...!?!?
...it HAS to be some kind of weird, fetishistic perversion... previously unknown to medical science.....!!!
.....you DEFINITELY need help.. whatever!!
Still..I guess it's at least a BIT entertaining.....
You ought to put the registrations of the failed cars in the description - easier for the insurance companies to find!
The Ranger is RE73UDN
He’s on ratedriver with the link to the video .Only two results and he’s the first result on google.
Grass
If I can see it, everyone else can FFS
Nice illegal number plate on that Urban Discovery Sport.
Ohh well another car wrote off. Hmmm wonder what insurance would say lol. 😂
That's probably why my insurance go's up every year. Paying for the clowns.
Warranty and insurance probably voided. Oh well, at least he only has 5 more years of payments.
Hope the insurance company is watching all these muppets !!
I find it funny that people think their car cabin is watertight
@bengregers You gotta love idiots!!!
Greetings from Croatia!
Big fan!
Old Saying, You Can't Fix Stupid 🤔🤣😂🙈👍
Where is this in Essex?
Should've got a Feiyu Pocket 3 for that last shot. Magnetic gimbal that you just stick on the car.
That one person got figured out right as close to the other guy's bumper as possible the crates of path through the water
Never drive on an empty head🤣🤣🤣
Again, you need a freaking depth radar, wherever that Ranger got stuck was very deep, compared to the other roads. I actually want to try it, but maximum 2 feet, so about 600mm. 3 feet plus is crazy, you'll get water inside the car. How do you keep up the revs without going fast on an automatic?
A couple of EVs in that compilation, including the Openreach van. I've yet to see an EV not get through.
wow what an observation i wonder why
it the damage you can not see that the issue, 10 years time that car could be having all sort electrical issues if its not already needing costly repairs
@@EazyDuz18 Most importantly, they don't have air intakes. The basic problem that kills the ICE cars just isn't there on an EV. No cylinders, no compression. Also, all the electrical components are well sealed against water ingress because they have to be able to drive in pouring rain and through puddles. Also, the bottom of the vehicle is the flat battery and it's much harder for water to come up into the car from underneath, so they kind of turn into rafts.
Still vulnerable to getting a soaking if the door seals fail, but if they get through in seconds they might be OK. And there might be other vulnerabilities that cause problems further down the line. But the Nissan Leaf is certified for 700mm which is 2 feet 4 inches of water. And there's a video of a guy drying out the interior of an EV that got caught in a flash flood where it was parked. It was in the water for 12 hours but had no mechanical problems.
I would not personally care to drive into two feet of water in one, but if you were forced to, I think you have a much better chance of not coming to grief.
@@stevekenilworth I don't know that there's any evidence for that. I think if nothing happens fairly soon then they've probably got away with it. The car would throw up all sorts of error messages if there was an issue. I'd be most concerned about getting the carpets, the upholstery and the sound insulation soaked. That could be a real pain. I also wonder if there's an oil breather somewhere that could be vulnerable. But 30 seconds immersion for a car that's built to drive for hours through torrential rain shouldn't cause electrical issues.
Bear in mind the Nissan Leaf is certified for 700mm, which is the same as a Land Rover.
water gets in a sits, rot rust if water cannot get out or drainage gets blocked you cause much bigger damage @@moragkerr9577
The people who accelerate through water must be trying to get an insurance claim. Boggles the mind
saluti dall'italia!
Yikes that Ranger is probably 40 grand in the scrap bin 🗑️
The motor trade just love people who knowingly drive into floods.
How do you put it in neutral if the engine can't be turned on?
Legit question, i've never driven an automatic. Doesn't it need oil pressure to do the shifting?
Many have an emergency release. But more modern like Mercedes and this ranger is fully electronic. Once that’s busted. It’s stuck
My Hilux has a button beside the gear selector that enables you to take it out of park without the engine running, many other cars have a release lever secreted somewhere under the bonnet.
@@AJ-qn6gd your right many do like the land rovers n that too. Some just don’t mate. It would make pulling them out easier
I'm pretty sure there is an engmish adminitration that will put some "flooded road" signs before you can hit the water, right ?
Then, why do peope still drive into it ?
They are already up mate on both sides 😂
A quanto vedo da questi video, le Peugeot sono anche sottomarini 😂
Do people not realise most air intakes are near the front wheel arch so water does not have to be deep to flood the car
I don’t think most people have the slightest idea of what an air intake is these days, nevermind where it is.
I do feel sorry for these folks. They have to travel so far to wreck their cars since Rufford shut.
Who drives through three feet of water and thinks it won’t wreck their car???
Хорошее видео. Форд вообще утопили 🤦🏿♂️
Did they pull off of the engine? 😂
Natural stupidity really has no bounds.
Where was this 😂
The newer ranger have their intake between the hood gap and the headlight so any water above the hood would kill it. Compared to the older t6 rangers the intake is well hidden behind the fenders as long as you don't stop it is basically a submarine 🤣
Yeah spot on mate. It’s next to the left headlight at the front. And even worse the ecu is practically cable tied to the brake resevoir 😂
W😮z
It’s not a submarine 😂
Never drive a car that's bigger than your driving ability.
Now they know that petrol and diesel only mixes with air not water. 😂🤣stop it I'm wetting myself here, no pun intended.😜
Why did they tow it from the top of the motor? 😂
We chose the engine mount due to the current lifting the strap off the tow ball at the rear and the distance of the pull was almost double. From the rear. We could feel and touch the 2 recovery eyes. But if we clipped them in with hands waders would have been under the water and filled up. Creating us to be heavy and risk getting pulled down the river. BY the current. It’s defo not the safest way. Or the first choice. But we had explored all other options. We didn’t want to pull using the wheel as the rear was locked up. And the front was steering ❤
RIP new ranger
I just don’t get how thick people can be a fiat 500 barely makes a puddle
Another one bites the Duster
I couldn't work out if it conked or they just stopped?
when your car starts floating you know you've fucked up
How the fk did that red civic get through? 🤔
Civic and Nissan note😮 they are like boats
