"And again, keep trying" has got to be the stupidest thing possible to tell someone who's flooded their car.
Or the most malicious! 😈
Not if you want to bend the con rods.
Hi next statement "I can mend that"
@@garryferrington811 Yep. DEFINiTELY.
There was a definite "ping" sound just after he tried it the last time. No wonder it wouldn't crank with the filter off.
Lesson One: If someone on the bank is filming don't enter the ford. They are there for a reason!
Exactly, surely people would have learnt that lesson by now!
Also if someone tells you to keep cranking your flooded engine, don't do it.
"That's got to be one of the most foolish things that I've done."
Full credit to you for being so honest.
Plus the bloke squeezing water out of the air filter must tell him its too wet to save!
That expensive sounding 'clunk' of a hydrolocked engine!
Where in Essex is this , little baddow ,
So many experts on hand ,not .😂😂😂
The water flying through the sunroof 🤣
Just noticed that 😂
That's probably the most obvious sign that you might be going a little bit too fast through standing water when it's raining on you though the sunroof 😂
That first golf OMG the brains on that one. Sunroof was open too!
Child in the back of the Disco waiting for the strap to snap. 😮
That’s probably an 8ton strap you’re never snapping that pulling a Megane that’s rolling 😂
@@davidmckinlay425 It's still ridiculously stupid to take that risk. There's an example of a tow strap (or something it's attached to) failing in the exact same scenario in this same video at the 6:49 mark. Now imagine it that had a shackle on the end and there was a kid sat there!
It looks like the to strap is attached to somewhere around the slam panel,😮
@@davidmckinlay425Doesn’t matter when the crappy cheap attachments on the cars break off and go flying through the air. It’s likely the idiots in these videos towing cars out are using the transport attachment points which are even worse.
" IVE NEVER BEEN DOWN HERE BEFORE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED" 🙄😲, . Well, I would imagine if you went anywhere where there was a big f### oFf flood and drove that fast through it, the outcome would be the same, dur👍🏴
I DON'T LOOK WHERE I'M GOING
Yeh .. he sounded a right numpty. 🥴🤪
The Muppets who try and help are just as bad.
The amount of people that think their car can turn into a boat is astonishing.......
Also don't see why people think they need to step on it while the water is already up to the headlights. Only makes the wave bigger.
These people, absolute fools.
That Volvo (2nd car) did it quite well and not too fast, the air intake must be really low on those.
Any way…. Thank you for the entertainment 😂😂
Air intake is below the cooler. In order to breathe cold air, and hence improve power/fuel economy.
Was surprised Volvo clonked out he drove through slowly and water was not that high crap design on Volvos part should of easily made it
Wading height on a XC60 is door bottom/cill at walking speed. I checked on mine..its in the manual. That little sentence will save me hundreds one day.
some of these people are older than me, they haven't gained much life experience in that time, especially driving! 😅
All those vehicles are able to cross that flooding, even the compacts! The key is speed. Once you hit the gas and water rushes over the grille and hood your car is done. You just have to drive slowly and steady. The best example was the Gray Renault Cargo Van at 6:00.
Its amazing to see still so so many drivers out on the streets who do not understand the basics of safely navigating through a ford.
1:35, telltale sound of a buggered motor.
“That’s got to be one of the most foolish things I’ve done” he says 😂😂😂😂😂
As soon as he opened his mouth he admitted to the world he's a fuqtard. 😣
Love how volvo owners continue to do this, they have never made an off road vehicle, the xc70 and xc90 are just tall estates, intake right at the front like the s70 from 1999 at Asda
As a Volvo owner in the US, I was so angered to see this. Like, what universe would these cars do any better than anyone else with the air intake where it is? lol Sad
Exactly, if a vehicle was designed to go off road from factory it would have a fancy air-intake to deal with water that comes through the pipe, just proves that these are just raised cars.
@@Everything_Evan And raised £££ for the manufacturers.
I draw your attention to the Volvo TP21 and the Volvo C303… but you’re right about the XC range.
Try that behaviour at Cahill's Crossing in NT, Australia and you'll have crocodiles to take your mind off the engine problems.
Do none of these fools watch your films?😂
Obviously not.
🥴🙈😁😁😁😁😁
I doubt if the learning process is strong in these ones.
because removing the air filter is going to fix an engine with water in the cylinders that cant go anywhere, bent conrods a plenty
You must be loving all this wet weather, Ben! 😂
What a weekend 😂 and more to come 🤣🤣🤣 good to see you mate and great video
😂, Likewise mate 👊🏼
That sign said ONE METRE DEEP!!!!
How so many people dont know how to do this is remarkable. If it goes over the bonnet and tou dont have a snorkle you're as good as fucked.
A snorkel isn't much use either unless its super waterproofed (which 99% arent) a snorkel just acts as a raised air intake for rain spray and dust. Useful for fjording? Most times no because they'll leak
Insurance shouldn't cover this as it is down to sheer stupidity!
They most likely don't cover it
It depends on how convincing they lie, but if they are recovered by a professional vehicle recovery company, the insurance underwriter can obtain details of where the recovery took place and is the risk of being charged with insurance fraud really worth it.
You can bet your life all the insurance companies are aware of these videos on CZcams of people purposefully driving into deep water. It's never accidental.
@SirReginaldBlomfield1234 yeah, they have the perfect evidence to deny a claim!
Great video Ben 👍🏻
Thanks Tom 🙌🏼
5:50 That Audi was very lucky
i cannot comprehend how you live some where, where it floods often, and you dont know how to drive through deep water... incredible lol but im also thankful because otherwise videos like this wouldnt exist 🤣
You see the same thing where it snows a lot. People still have no idea how to drive in it.
Brilliant video
Thanks legend 👊🏼
This bunch of aquamen mechanics are geniuses lol
Oh the optimism of the Mazda driver 😐
Cant believe my discovery3 is in this video 😂
Knob of the week is! 😂
An adult should know you cannot take a passenger vehicle into deep water; if you do, it's best to take it slowly. Occasionally, in the outback where the wife and I reside, flood waters overcome the roads. Even with an F-350 SuperDuty Diesel lifted 6" rolling on 37's, I take it slowly and occasionally find an alternate way to get home rather than risk destroying my truck...
2:25 "Clunk!"
4K HDR 😍
In Russia, no one enters the water like that, in first gear they slowly drive and drive through a deep puddle, he drove a car through a puddle on the wipers. The main thing is not to push the wave in front of the car.
0:18 absolute massive lolz
1:35 that clunk noise
2:54 - Look at the shoes - he was ready to flood his car in the ford 😀
Probably the first time many of the owners of these modern cars have ever even opened the bonnet…
I guess this must be that incompressible type of water?
Once upon a time, BENGREGERS had to hold down a job to earn a living. Then he spent a day filming cars trying to imitate boats and nothing was the same again :D
I see britain found a new ford to laugh at.
I'm glad that I'm watching these videos. At least I will never become an embarrassment for CZcams purposes. There was once a clip of a guy tackling the water on reverse. He made it through but no one ever did the same.
Wait, no BMW's in this episode? Did they finally figure it out?
Strange isn’t it..?! I haven’t had a BMW Fail for a while… think they’re learning 😂
These people shouldn't get an insurance payout, down right negligence
Take filter off, plugs out and crank it over to try and clear the water. Some of these are proper “Dime Bars”
No way that Audi survived??? Did it?
Annoying, wasn’t it? 🙂
inky pinky poinky the golf is f@cking wonkey
Honey!!!! i see an Ocean in front of us, what should i do?
KEEP DRIVING JAMES, just keep driving.
Richard Dawkins: We evolved....
"Yeah, i have never been down this way...."
No, i have never tried to drive from the Netherlands to Great Britain, but next time i am at Scheveningen i will drive my car right of the pier and just try it out like you people do.
You never know, it might work.
Sweet Jezus, what a lemmings.
"yeah, just a bit of water in the air filter, don't mind what already has been sucked into the engine"
And that why this year's insurance is up 50%.
Just reminded me I have a narrow boat channel to watch
we all live in a yellow submarine
They may as well throw the car away. The engine damage is enormous. Once the insurance company finds out you wrecked your engine through stupidity, it’s your problem.
2:24 - the sound of the hydrolock can be heard!
Plus the sight of several people waiting around to film you, surely must be an early warning that its too deep to drive through!!
hi, great video, to days generation behave like clowns, its the same when they try and cross to Lindersfane island when the tide is coming in.
Cada bruto que hay!!
Not the depth thats the problem- Its the speed ..
It always amazes me that some people don't realise that cars need to breathe and can't hold their breath. Driving into a ford like that is like holding someone's head underwater and then being surprised that they drown.
How to ruin your car in 3...2...1.... 😂
Water has never burnt very well..
They think they are submarines.
The thing is the water wasn't even that deep and you've got people flooring it through flooding their engines...
And I thought Volvo Drivers are intelligent. But there exists some Exceptions... 🤔
3:25 сидит в багажнике ожидая встречи с лопнувшим тросом
From the Netherlands: Does insurance in the UK cover these damages?
Seen many a towing hook been ripped out of the threads.
There is only one general rule when overcoming a water obstacle. SLOWLY!! Not only because quickly means that water will get into the air intake system and the inside engine. You can't see where the road is, you don't know what's under the water, whether the strong current of water has destroyed the road. Even if you know this road because you have been driving it every day for several dozen years. You don't know what's under the water, so you drive SLOWLY. There is a proverb. "The slower you go, the further you go..."
Where is this?
In Essex
i wonder how many kicked off with there insurance when you get told we not paying out and your car is on finance 🤣🤣
They all do the same mistake to try to cross the river the faster they can. Water goes right into the air intake.
how is this even real
The Ford's are good at fording.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ah yes let's try and compress water that cant be compressed
People should be made to show they know where and what the air intake of the car is before taking their test and told it is consuming in the order of 1000 times the air the driver consumes per minute. 6 litres as against 6,000+ litres per minute. Check the numbers yourself which vary with revs and cc but the air used by an engine is prodigious and not going too work well with the front piled with water. In fact part of the test should be opening the bonnet and showing what the consumables are needing replenishing if low would be a good idea if not done already. Any sign of hydrolock best to switch off and wait for a tow. There is a youtube strip down of an engine that ran for a few weeks until a bent con rod finally gave way and the valves were leaking with bent stems . Many of the vehicles inundated in the mad rush to get through though driving away seemingly OK are likely to be compromised to some degree. Rufford Ford is a good example of that with its long straight to a bend where some cars can manage a long stint but fail before the corner.
Die Dummheit der Menschen ist grenzenlos
Obviously all these new car owners who have paid thousands for their car, think they have bought a boat instead.😂
Not being a car person, but does this 100% total the engine?
Yes
I don't understand Why so much people try this deep floating water crossing. Are there no alternative routes on their way?!
Plebs , most modern cars are whats called bottom breathers they take the air for the engine up through below the bumper , tha fancy grilles are mostly for show .
Je n’arrive pas à comprendre pour les gens continuent à filmer et à pas avertir les gens du danger de flinguer leur bagnoles… incompréhensible 😊
Culvert technology hasn't reached the U.K. yet
Why are they driving into the water so fast!? Madness...
Just driving into water is madness, not just the engine getting wet its the cv shafts boots leaking water into the CV joints, water can get sucked in through the drive shafts into the gearbox ( thermal shock) the hubs ABS sensors its a mugs game driving your vehicle into anything more than half a foot of water, driving fast into it just blasting the water into areas where water should never go on an unprepped production vehicle.
Why are these people so surprised and confused of there engine is full of water? What did you expect to happen when drivning in a flood? Doh...
That’s what happens when you take the flooded ford too fast and this would happen and yes water could drown your engine
The people who always do the towing at these places, do they charge or do it because they want too
They don’t charge, if they are already in the area either passing by or filming then they will tow people out to help out 😊
@@RebeccaDixon Thanks, I always wondered
@@steve16196as Rebecca said no charge mate. Some offer and we rarely take. But we never expect or say for example only if you give us….
Doesn't a Renault Megane have a drag eye? Where the towing cable was attached doesn't seem like the best place to drag a car away
2.0 TWI (TurboWaterInjection)
Why do people keep driving through these places in the UK? Is it the only way to get where they’re going? Are they on their way to hospital and it’s worth the risk of killing their cars?
Let me show you where the air/water intake is on your car/boat.
SUV drivers in _being bellends_ shocker 😱
0:33 What?!! He didn't exactly plough through like others and the water level isn't that high for this car and still kills it?
Copart will be pleased.
drive fast win prices of needing a replacement engine
What is it about driver education that makes them believe an ordinary car can wade through a foot of water?
Why are people in this country so technically ignorant?
