    Just a few miles from this ford here, this week I saw two youths on a motorbike no helmets no number plate, go through a red light then around a traffic island and over a pedestrian crossing on the wrong side of the road right in front of a police car at a junction, the police turned in the opposite direction and drove away.

      I see one-eyed cars (front and rear) at night all the time now, Why get them fixed? There are no polis around. I remember the days when a bobby reprimanded my sister for cycling on a wide shopping parade and police in a car advising my father he had a spent rear light. I only see blue light polis cars going hell for leather for the A1...much more exciting for them.

    Britain 2023 summed up right here , police would rather ticket people for splashing through water and wrecking there own vehicles, which if they want to wreck that’s up to them , than sort out real criminals and crime that goes on everyday , the reason , targeting the motorists is easy pickings, easy money . If they put in as much effort targeting real criminals as they do petty nonsense like this then the U.K. wouldn’t be in the state it is . Then the police wonder why the U.K. has no respect for them or the law .

      @@gunton21 From outside Britain it is your comment summing up Britain in 2023: whining and blaming others for your problems wether it is immigrants, politicians of a party you don't like, the EU or the police not taking responsibility for your own behaviour often the cause of the issue to begin with. Then do some dumb uninformed voting and blame the consequences of that on others as well. Maybe you should travel a bit and notice that enforcing traffic violations is not a British thing, most countries around you do it.

It's on most written driving exams I've taken here in the states, one assumes it is on the UK exams as well. Safer when it's deeper, just kills the car. Some cities here also have ordinances about deliberately splashing pedestrians as well.

    There is no warning other than Ford and current speed limit is 30

      @michaeleddison6765 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Well they all should know the high way code which clearly states to go through ford's slowly, the rest of the road been 30mph doesn't change that. plus most if not all, purposely go through at speed knowing they shouldn't, changing the speed limit isn't going to stop idiots from been idiots

    • @truthseeker7794
      @truthseeker7794 Před 5 měsíci +2

      You don't need signs or warnings unless you're an idiot. I went through a 4 inch deep flood yesterday and I crawled through at 2 mph because even 4 inches of water can do damage to your car. Most of these people are idiots but they entertain us.

    • @justinfufun5483
      @justinfufun5483 Před 5 měsíci

      @@truthseeker7794 then you don't need speed limits anywhere ever by that logic. You need stop sign at tee junctions by that logic. You don't arrows on roundabouts or dual carriage ways by that logic. We can just rely on your intelligence being good enough.
      People who know what they are doing are obviously in the minority when it comes to fording or we wouldn't be looking at so many videos.
      That merc managed to damage its engine when there was barely enough water to cover the tyres.
      But you don't want to tell them to go slower because you got through a puddle. You are a selfish and rude. The guy probably isn't an idiot, he would have gone slower if he had any idea of the risk but like I said... the only warning is a speed restriction to 30 mph.
      And maybe the odd angry cop who takes personal offence to certain splashes but not all.

    High water is not really as much a danger to the public at the ford, as is low water. High water will destroy cars, hydroplaning/aquaplaning on low water levels kills. Love splashing in puddles as much as anyone, love driving like a bat out hell. But with all those kids around, a death from a hydroplaning car is a reality best not explored. I know, buzzkill. But a single injury or death will end the fun for good. I enjoy the fun, let's not stop the fun.
    I live near Las Vegas, NV. We have a park in a canyon nearby. A favorite for CZcamsrs. It's a one way road with consecutive blind turns and precipitous drop offs. With multiple idiots making speed runs in a 30 mph zone amongst tourist traffic. Then, driving the wrong way down the road at speed against traffic to reshoot their video (legally it's a 13 mile drive to circle back around). The park is often closed due to excessive numbers of cars. There have been accidents, and close calls. Just dangerous, no fun. Wish we had a Rufford Ford! Don't lose it!
