Britain's most entertaining IQ test.
I feel I lose brain cells by taking part by watching the videos.
🤣🤣🤣
It's a game ?
No common sense no matter how many dollars they have.
These videos while interesting are highly depressing. How could people be so unwilling to think before they act? The risk of damaging their vehicles at night is not worth the heartache. The mask is off regarding the myth about intelligence in Great Britain.
None of them ever seem disappointed. Almost like they drove in because they want some drama in their life. It would be interesting to research the psychology behind this.
It's just idiots trying to save face! They're crying inside I bet! Hahaha
I agree with the other comment: it's public embarrassment, feeling stupid, trying to make light of it etc. I bet plenty want to burst into tears & drown themselves when they discover the bill for repair!
For overpriced euro junk (Audi/BMW/Merc) is almost the perfect insurance scam. The write off is almost certain if it A) sits in water B) loses an unreliable and poorly engineered engine full of superfluous crap that has to be removed, pushing up the labour costs and writing it off.
@@N4CR5 Lots of insurances dont cover it if you drive in intentionally into the water.

The duck is lifted on 35s
Yes your probably right , and on wet tyres !!!! F
It’s crazy to me how nobody seems to understand how water fording works, faster does not equal better
they are thinking about outputting exhaust when they should be thinking about air intake
It does if you hydroplane across like rally drivers!!
they do not understand how anything works, that is why they drive audi-because they have money to repair it
I used to live on a street that would regularly flood at the lowest spot. Every time it flooded someone would try to drive through and flood out their car. Every time.
@@makantahi3731there were like two audis. Chill. Seems like someone who drives an audi really hurt you
Take it slow, guys! It's surprising how many of the larger vehicles don't make it through simply because the drivers are going too fast. They have enough height clearance, but the excessive speed forces the water high enough to reach the intake
Very true! Water went in our intake at 10:50 amber engine light came on straight away had to dry the filter with a hair dryer at the local pub 🤣
Pretty sure a lot of them are driving at speed into the water to show off to the cameras.
I just wanted to splash everyone 🤣
I don't know many countries, especially not Great Britain, who don't have a section in their road code on driving through deep water. Seems these people didn't read that bit.
@@Smurphenstein You wouldn't be watching these videos if no one drove through the ford! Its called having fun!
As a Florida resident in hurricane country i learned to seal a distributor, spark plug wires and vents for submarine driving. I had a 66 Chevy Belair wagon that could drive through any flooded road. The thing would slice though foot deep water like a swamp buggy at 35 mph throwing rooster tails 20 feet high.
Just spraying WD-40 on the distributor worked for a few days back when I had vehicles with mechanical ignition timing. Nowadays it’s all computer controlled. You still don’t want water to get into the intake or you’ll explode a cylinder or two.
These idiots are ruining engines by water being sucked onto the engine air intake.
Tesla said “Good Morning!” 😂😂
Yea no air needed to operate motors, though flooding battery ends pretty badly to :)
@@kosajk The battery is sealed so that ain't the issue. The issue is that the water isn't clean which can rust stuff. Make sure to thoroughly wash the car and you will be completely fine!
@lachlanB323 its not completly sealed, there are some vents for natural gases in battery
@@kosajk But it's pressurized with air so no water can get in that way. The vehicle would have to be fully submerged for minutes before water gets in that way. In that situation your car is the least of your concerns and it's more like... not dying!
Electric cars akso tend to float for longer then petrol cars
@lachlanB323 Well, that depends, i would say, although i mostly agree with your comment :)
You can call me a miserable old git all you like, but these videos are so much more tranquil and therapeutic without the screaming children in the background...
You’re right mate 😂😂😂

We all need some quiet time, 😆
I just had some headache tablets. Instructions said "Take 2 and keep away from children". Couldn't agree more!

Funny how people are more concerned about their shoes and pants getting wet afterwards, rather than the expensive vehicle getting ruined before charging into a flooded river. 🤣🤣🤣
Insurance will most likely pay out as its a public road
@Retired Bore that's true I see your point but if your fully comp u can claim on your car when ever you want for anything. If your engine blows up and you take it to the garage you can claim and either right it off or fix it my dad many many years ago "drove through a puddle" and they paid out for a new engine
@@4331andrew u clearly got no idea how insurance works also this guy and other videos of broken engines are public. So i think what u are saying here is a stupid way to get arrested for insurance fraud.

@@Rastamanjungle well clearly I do 😂 and how's it insurance fraud are you thick an adjuster comes out and sees if the car is a write off. They either fix it or write it off....
@Retired Bore also at any moment Ur waiting for a tow track near the Water the Police can come and give u a ticket for driving on closed road. Then no insurance for you
When you see 20 broken down vehicles near a body of water, you might not want to cross
I'd love to know how well the door seals kept out the water. They're designed to keep rain out, not full submersion.
I would love to be the local mechanic in this area. This ford is like a money-printing machine!
I was thinking the same.
Think lot of these daresay get written off so it's probably scrap men rather than mechanics that do well.
And the recovery tow guys if the mechanic ain't got towing equipment

Same for me. It’s been three days i’ve been watching this and somehow loving it.😂
I'm here in Mongolia where we do this all the time without a 2nd thought, but seeing all the 4x4 not knowing how to go through a river is beyond funny. The cars i can semi understand, but the 4x4 guys is just odd.
That duck swimming by was just insult to injury. He was definitely judging the driver.
Its nice to see jolly ol' England has geniuses too! 🤣
The image of a delivery driver wearing a high-visibility tabard whilst his van is broken down in at least a foot of muddy water is a beautiful, succinct summary of Modern Britain.
It must not be that bad considering Worldwide Championship of Engine Hydrolocking is taking place in UK.
Your parcel is only an hour later than the delivery alert said but it's a bit wet I'm afraid 💦
Of all the things to hang your hat on about what’s wrong in Britain these days, “man wears orange vest” (which he was already wearing before he got stuck) seems an odd choice.

Bizarre thing to say tbh. It’s just a bloke who made a mistake doing his job. Not exactly beautiful. And hardly a summary of modern Britain.

@@lizcarlile5170 German car drivers think they can walk on water, sad thing is their car cannot.
Some people have too much money.
What people seem not to understand is that, their gas engines compress air, but water can not be compressed. If your air intake is low then the engine sucks in water and you will destroy your engine by bending the piston rods.

Yup, the only sensible driver of the lot.
As the grill on that Focus was fully submerged only the slow speed saved it from getting water into the air intake.

Tesla burns down house later that evening... LOL
u dont even know where it’s going
plus it’s electric how could it burn
Actually, EVs are 61x less likely to catch fire than internal combustion vehicles and 139x less likely to catch fire than hybrid cars.
“Fully electric vehicles pose less of a fire risk than hybrids and gas cars, according to 2021 data from the National Transportation Safety Board. There were 25 EV fires per 100,000 sales, compared with 3,475 hybrid fires and 1,530 internal-combustion engine fires per 100,000 sales, respectively.“
Loved the Tesla and the Hummer in this episode
The tesla will spontaneously catch fire now due to corrosion from the battery and wiring being wet.
@@Whisperhollow That's only true with SALT WATER. Get your facts straight. Who drives in saltwater anyway? And those fires only happen in the coastal areas after a very very strong storm surge. You make it sound like it always happens like it's a daily occurrence.
Tesla's have water sealed batteries and mile for mile far less likely to have a fire than an ice powered vehicle

Lesson 1(here in Germany, at least):
If you drive through a water passage, check the depth !
Lesson 2: Drive slowly!
As long as the electrical is sealed and the car isn't buoyant (so it floats off the roadway), electric cars should go through just fine. Those heavy batteries in ECs can only help in these situations.

11:53 when you know it’s about to get serious 😂 runnnnnn b runnnn 😂 but at the end Duck 🦆 was the winner the best performance 😂
This is aimed at the people who are as thick as mince.. Vehicles, just like humans need to breath. They breath in through the air intake, which is normally situated behind the panel at the front of the car where the bonnet catch sits. And they breath out through the exhaust pipe.
If humans breath lots of water in they drown, then you are dead.. If vehicles breath lots of water in they also drown, and your engine dies, and I don't mean just stops. They die because
your engine is wrecked.
That Model 3 handled the water like a champ.
Only months later all the electrical connections will be corroding, steel rusting, and biological stuff in the water stinking like mad. People are so dumb to risk all such problems for a 4km detour. This reminds me of when I was a child, many moons ago. I used to walk to the top of a big hill, with a hairpin turn, at the bottom. During an ice storm I was warning people, and some ignored my advices. "I have a "Jeep" one said, he rode the ditches on both sides, but yeah he got down the hill. I went down backwards once, that was enough.
The fact that you got 136 parts out of this before someone even put a sign up let alone do something about this problem is astounding...

And I repeat, I can't believe the MX-5 made it.
I drove quickly through a deep puddle with my rented model y and it tore the bottom plastic off till it was scraping backwards at the back of the vehicle. it also ripped off the tow panel and water was all inside the back storage compartments. nothing mechanically wrong with the car but I had to re fasten all the broken panels and get rid of all the water that was inside storage compartments
My SUV has a starter that sits on top of the engine in the back. It is a pain to change out but does not get wet. The alternator is mounted high also.
I have seen new cars where the alternator and the starter are mounted barely above the axle. The car dies in about a foot of water.
Even the mallard had to come down and laugh at the madness.
Imagine being the person who writes a car off in a ford that is highly notorious for killing cars, and then driving up to a deep ford in another car and thinking “ah it’ll be okay”.🤣😂
These are the low milage cars for sale that someone's grandma only used to go to church with.
The best way to cross this flooded Ford is to drive across in reverse, so you don't flood the engine compartment.
Very entertaining video.

I'm shocked the Miata made it through , and the number of Fords that didn't dissolve.
Good to see the fish made it safely back. 🐟
That Audi though, so near so far lol
all this to avoid an 8-mile detour, its madness, I love my car much so much to even consider going through lower water.
Love how the delivery driver just brushed a piece of plastic into the water. What a tosser
Compared to the amounts of oil, grease, coolant and other fluids that get dumped into the water by other motorists I'd consider a bit of plastic to be a minor concern. Unnecessary? Sure, but so are 95% of the crossings at this point.
To be fair to him, he's got bigger things to worry about than the environment right now 😅
I love how karma immediately floated it back into the van. Brilliant
Damage is probably already done. Starter couldn't turn it over because it was hydrolocked and if it doesn't bend a rod when it sucked up the water and died they can get bent from the torque of the starter when trying to start it so all those attempts to restart were playing with...well water in this case. I worked in a shop and deen it quite a bit both from being flooded with water or some other liquid like fuel, coolant, or even oil after something else failed that resulted in filling the cylinder with liquid. If lucky you can just pull the plugs or injectors and rotate it over to get it out without bending a rod if the damage isn't already done.
White smoke = engine coolant being superheated. I know. Blew an engine once.
I love the way drivers give us an evening performance. A lovely night out for all sorts of people, and then a light supper and bed.
I am utterly amazed how many don't know how to negotiate a water hazard and in a defender as well .
Water in the air cleaner duct just Hydro lock the motor, ruin the engine, blow the head gasket.

I wonder how he lost his leg
Magico Unbendy Rodsey Revvyy..... and.......... nope. 🤣
It never ceases to amaze me that people speed through the water...... 😂😂😂
IMO, the Ford at 9:57 had the best technique which is to go slow, keep the wave in front of you low and keep it from going to high and over the hood. This crossing is long enough so that momentum will not get you across as most people using momentum only got 3/4 of the way across. For a shorter crossing momentum might get you across but you will still have a higher risk of your motor ingesting the water. Unless you absolutely have to I do not recommend going across a water crossing like this as you may have some water penetration into all kinds of things like electrical connections, bearings, differentials (especially if the vent hose is low, cracked, or missing), the transmission, etc that you may not notice until you start having problems later. Most of the time these components may get splashes of water like driving in the rain but being submerged like this has much more likelihood of water penetration. A paper air filter will immediately stop air from going into the engine the moment it gets wet. Also if the water line is above the bottom of your door, your car's carpet will get wet with this dirty water and will forever smell like a stinky pond.
Its amazes me, that there are so many people that seem to have no clue on how an engine works.
Most people out there couldn't tell you how many cylinders were in their engines. It's sad. :(
@@youtubasoarus True. Absolutely.
11:54 when you hear a vehicle accelerating toward the water, you know it's time to run!
Unbelievable how many people don't seem to realise that in most cases the engine's air intake is located behind the top of the front grille. Once water gets into the intake if you get lucky you will almost certainly stall the engine. If you get unlucky it will get into the cylinders and lock the engine, potentially causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Everyones going too fast into it! Lmao
Surprised so many got through the flood. I love seeing the falls at the end. You could make one of those "Sleep or Relax" waterfall type videos with those. Thank you, Tom!

Then, when it doesn't crank over, the breath a sigh of relief, thinking it's just a bad starter. That's gonna be one EXPENSIVE starter!
I'm more shocked at how the starter motor in these cars has enough torque to bend and snap piston rods
Not much of a surprise though considering it is possible to actually drive your car on the starter motor it's extremely slow mind you and you're definitely going to break something but it does work to at least crawl you out of the water if none of the boys in their rovers are there to pull you

I wonder how the Audi A7 driver got to be in his mid 50s
Pure luck.🤣
Let’s make it clear. I hope this will save someone’s car in situation like this.
First of all, it is okay to have your exhaust pipe go into water. More importantly is your engine air intake must be above water.
1. Drive as slow as possible in deep water. Because if you go too fast, basically you are pushing the water even higher at your front bumper. And water will enter through the grid and to the air intake header.
2. If you notice, the water is lower at the rear of car if you go after. So, if possible, backing up through water with some speed is even safer
Hydro locked time for new car. You cave to creep slowly in deep water to avoid was getting into the intake. Done it and never had any issues.
And remember up until they arrived here these are the people you’re sharing the roads with, sometimes they’re driving toward you at up to 60mph…
Why anybody chances it is beyond me. “I’ll risk writing off my car and make my insurance void”.
