That bmw the suv was in gear with a hydrolocked engine I would love to see the rods

It is an automatic if you put them in park and the engine is not running it will lock the rear wheels and it requires you too ether start the car or get under the car to remove bolts to get it back in to neutral.
It is a very stupid design to be honest and it causes all sorts of issues with people that have broken down.
If you have a car like that and you have broken down the best thing is to not put it in park but leave it in neutral, that will mean the keys will be stuck in the ignition as you need it to be in park to get the keys out but at least you can move the car without damaging the drive gear.
Like I said it is a very stupid design flaw.
