This is just a light-hearted video (using old footage I've had gathering dust on my HD for ages) while I slowly get back into the swing of things. Hope you enjoy it, and I sure wish I could play as aggressively as he did & get away with it :)

is it strange to me that the effects of planes getting hit and set on fire are so much better than they are now in this video? it simply looks much more satisfying. even with war thunders problems back then, it was incredibly fun, and the number of active, good pilots really showed that. as ive said for a long time now, i really hope they can turn this around, because at this rate, they have very little time before they just kill air arcade all together

Hey mate, aah the good old days, i miss those days in arcade where you could go 15-30 kills every 3rd match or so. Those were the days, unfortunately we're dealing with the worst bomberspam in WT history atm. it pushed me almost completely into rb atm, as thats just more enjoyable then the 3-5 min matches you often get in ab now :) Anyways, good to see you uploading again! :)
Thing with RB is, you often still only get 3-5 minutes of action (if that), but with that comes lots of queueing, climbing, dot-spotting and waiting.
I know you can get the odd epic game in RB that makes it all worthwhile, but still ... if Gaijin had a proper persistent world in place, like multiplayer flight sims have had in the past, the game would be far more compelling.
Yeah, world war mode can definitely be a gamechanger, and im hoping it will, i just hope they implement it for all 3 modes, and not just for rb or something ;) like EC. AB still is the action packed mode that gets you right in the thick of it, unfortunately only one game ever so often gives you that. The rest of the ab matches atm is 8-12 bombers diving down from the spawn atm, you in your fighter franticly stopping one or two, and then have the match end 2-3 minutes later, with one team or the other winning. Totally unsatisfying. the matches that are 8-10 min long are still very enjoyable though. The thing with RB atm is that you do consistently get that 3-5 min of action in every match, which is, for me at least atm, preferable over the bomberspam frustration thats ab atm.
How is world war mode going to work? "A new mode, called World War Mode, is planned to be introduced in the following year after Naval forces implementation." That's all Gaijin says about it.
Jengar usually today in AB, I can reliably get 5-10 kills. Yet I don't often play RB because the single spawn throws me off a lot.
Yes, prime example of what the game used to be like. It was awesome multiple times a day, now you're lucky to get a good fun match every couple of days or so.
Amazing game for both of you. Almost makes me want to play again but then I remember the sniper fire from the bombers... I could reminisce about this game forever though. I played early beta, low tier ground strike games would have targets that nobody could damage, or nobody would damage because they didn't know any better. Arcade games would last 30+ minutes pretty often and it was GREAT. Seriously one of my best gaming experiences playing early War Thunder arcade battles, I enjoyed Historic/Realistic battles too but not as much as the 30 minute low tier furballs from early beta.

Now that's a runaway...or a runway success! I played some games similarly once, but never to such an outstanding outcome.
One of my first games in AB with my new Ta-154 went on for twenty minutes. It was glorious, even though I only got 18 kills due to playing it safe (and surviving the mission with about two minutes of fuel left).
Ah yes, that Ta 154 is one helluva plane. I'm sure it'll be nerfed soon enough (it only has a placeholder flight model), so enjoy while it lasts.
This makes me nostalgic. Haven't played WT for months, maybe a year.... but arcade became "who can bomb ground targets faster"; farm those cars/tanks and end the match in 2 minutes.

Abd junior Hallak I think gaijin should just set up another server which is 1.57 and let players choose which one they want to play.

As you said, unfortunately this would not be possible currently in War Thunder. The planes are way tougher.

Yes, I've been flying T2 japan lately in order to research the new N1K1 floatplane. I noticed it was a lot easier to get guns on target with the Ki-44 otsu than it used to be.

I got a match of 21 kills in 1.48 or so with the cannonstang. don't know why i never recorded it. But now those days of air massacre are far away.
My best game so far of this 1.65 version was few matches of 18-13 kills in domination.
Yep, same, though I haven't played much yet. My best so far was 14 on a Britain dom flying the Ta-154.

Ahh- Agent and his annoying ability to go balls-to-the-wall and somehow completely escape enemy notice.
I never could develop this kind of situational awareness. My senses are easily overwhelmed or overly-focused. This is why climbing and using energy worked so much better for me... it let me keep a better eye on the battlefield.
Come to think of it though, I haven't seen him online in about as long as you've been away. Hope he's alright. I need to keep an eye out for when you log in though. Haven't flown with you in ages! Of course, you're doing RB nowadays, aren't you?
Yes, Agent hasn't been active online for a long time now. He's still around, just not into gaming very much. I've barely played RB since dipping my toe back into the game, I'm just sticking with AB for now while unlocking/spading the new 1.65 planes.
Ahh, well, if you see me online gimmie a poke. I'll have to get back into the habit of joining the TS.

Hey mate, how would you rate arcade knowadays. I've tried getting back in after a 2 year hiatus and was pleasantly surprised that the American 50 cals feel quite buffed. Damage models seem a but more expectable also...
The a.i. planes in ground attack seem a good bit more impact full then they used to, but that may be my memory playing tricks

Except replays, which are (only just) ok for "analyze this" style vids, are really lacking when it comes to what I want to show in ace masterclasses. Replays don't show throttle, ammunition, fuel, g-force effects, radar map, other planes are positioned differently to what the player saw in-game ... they're really a mess & they're not easy for viewers to relate to when it comes to watching rapid-fire action.
Hence I'm asking people to record actual live video on their computers and upload it to a google drive.
Why live footage and not replays, I only ask because I'm a curious noob.
how do you use unlocked fps without getting huge stuttering,i have to use vsync,ive tried border less with unlocked but it just stutters

In the past Gaijin offered "press accounts" to large channels, with everything unlocked etc, but that changed about a year ago. They now offer channels with more than (I think) 3000 subscribers a few in-game goodies such as half a dozen low tier premium planes and a few thousand GE, with no strings attached. That's basically just a goodwill program, I wouldn't call it sponsorship.

How often did you get these 20 kill matches?
Me? Not often. High teens was usually my limit as I lack the aggressive instincts and fast thinking necessary to really dominate. I do however know quite a few players who routinely scored 20+ and made it look easy.
I've just started playing Air Arcade Battles. Why is old AB better than now?
Quite a few reasons. Firstly guns used to be much more effective, so if you got a decent shot at a plane you were more likely to be rewarded. Secondly, there weren't nearly as many ground strike battles as there are now - and neither were there many high tier bombers that could simply dominate those battles. There were a lot more ground targets & they didn't self-destruct as they do now in order to force the battle to end. End result was more balanced gameplay and many more long & epic battles.
By the way, I learned playing Air Arcade Battles thanks to your tutorials. I'm a casual player so I did really struggle with my first few games then I stumble upon your channel. I am averaging 6 kills and lots of assists. Make more videos, man. Your channel is awesome!

I have some intense footage of Ki-43-II gameplay (almost constant furballing) if you're interested. I'm not sure how to submit the recording. (Arcade Mode) Final Score 8-0, but a loss nevertheless. Score of 8-0 not amazing, but even still I feel like I can give an example of "if you're going to furball, try to pay attention like this". Plus it's just a very action-y clip.
@ Roo, see my remarks on the pinned thread at the top of the comments here, as I explain what kind of thing I'm looking for. Also, generally I want to avoid tier 1 battles as opponents are quite likely to be newbies who don't pose much of a threat.
send this footage to gaijin and show them they need to rethink the BR for this plane its to OP at the BR its at and they have the Zero's at higher BR which are almost like this plane
At 3.7 its BR is fine, and no its not really like a zero. Its slower than the zero, climbs worse, turns worse, but with a much higher roll rate. If the Ishak's BR was higher it'd be above far superior planes like the Spitfire IIb and the Bf109 F-4.
i know but as its Russian its got a higher change of fire going out on it as all Russian planes put fires out most of the time so it could still be a 4.0
Thunder0010 But the Ishak is that small, if you hit it with a 20 mm and its gets on fire, you automatically blow its wing off or snipe pilot lol
More like its so small its difficult to hit and hitting it with 20mm these days? sparkle, sparkle and gaijin knows of this problem they just don't do anything about it
But if you set him on fire, you just hit him ;)
