So your alive
You don't need 20 kills to get a nuke... you need 2500 spawn points. Which is impacted by other things like capturing points and assists. You see people get them every now and then.
He is talking about first nukes that was added to WT: the AB nukes
ty @@dawkon990
does he even play the game? it really doesnt feel like it
I think that those 20 kills he mentioned are meant for AB becouse in RB you need 11 kills to get a nuke, and yes as mentioned above you can get the nuke by other means than kills but, kills are the fastest way. Correct me if im wrong, i have never had a nuke in AB... And yes nukes arent that rare, i got nuke 3 games in a row... and every 5 games or so someone will drop a nuke. Another factors are teammates, they sometimes decide the game isnt ending yet and shoot you down(never happened to me personaly but i heard few stories), or just enemy looks at the score board and spawns in a plane before you can spawn a nuke to shoot you down once you spawn... And now with reacent update if you get close to spawning a nuke(i think above 2000 sp) the nuke button will apear in your hotbar.
Sorry for my grammar mistakes if anyone gets triggered by that.
so you need only to critical damage 40 players XD
In addition to detail: Aircraft with a clock in the cockpit tells you the time on your computer
Is it? I think it is the time of the game world map, I remember when I was in a night map and the clock was at 10:00 PM while in real life here it was daytime

On the decal size limit: I read that back then some players put huge black decals on their tanks to look like they are already destroyed and Gaijin implemented the size limits to prevent this exploit.
ive been there.. been playing WT for a looooooong time now, i think the only game ive spent more hours was Skyrim... so yeah that is true
7:04 sadly the image thingy for vehicles got removed , its sad they gave every vehicle a soul now its just a 3d models image
Yeah it was so nice to scroll through the tech trees
for real i hope they bring it back as an option. liked those.
its also very cool to see the image quality get better as you go down

Yeah idk why tf they changed that
Important point from someone with a modest 4.3k hours in the game, been playing since ~2016, almost exclusively ground forces and 100% free to play: The game actually becomes fun when you don't care about the grind. You don't need that jet, you don't need that MBT. The most memorable round of Warthunder I've ever had was getting 24 kills in a Matilda 2. I could not care less about my T-80U or T-90A, as long as I get to throw in a few rounds in an M24, or T-34-85 or Pz IV F2. The game is at its most enjoyable at the 2.7-6.7 range. If you're playing Warthunder because you're a super-fan of >insert modern combat vehicle/plane< and that's all you want out of the game, Warthunder is not the game for you. There are other games for that, more specialized ones, with smaller playerbases, but they are what you actually want.
Also, diversify. Swap what nation you play on a regular basis. Yes, it will turn the incredibly slow progress even slower, but it will actually keep the game fun, rather than a fruitless chase after something that will likely end up disappointing you. It will also make you a better player, giving you a much better understanding of your opposition. And it's an easy fix for the "bias" problem. Play a nation that you think is overpowered and you will very quickly discover that it is likely just as painful as what you were playing previously. Some nations have a good showing at every BR range, the more minor nations tend to have some holes in the range where they're weakly represented, but tend to make up for it in other areas.
For anyone wondering how much research you can get done playing in this way, after the aforementioned 4.3k Steam hours spent primarily in Ground RB, these are my highest rated vehicles in the respective tech trees:
USA: 7.7 (M48A1)
Germany: 8.0 (Leopard 1)
USSR: 11.3 (T-80U)
Great Britain: 8.7 (Chieftain Mk.3)
Japan: 7.3 (Ho-Ri Production)
China: 5.0 (Object 211)
France: 6.7 (AMX M4)
I don't play Italy, Sweden and Israel. Yeah, it's kinda ridiculous that after over 4k hours I don't have any tree maxed (especially considering I rarely touch two thirds of the game in the form of air and sea battles), but I have had the USSR tech tree at completion before, but that was from the time of the T-10M being the top-ranked vehicle until the early T-64s and T-72 were added. Past that I took a major hiatus from WT and I doubt I'll research the T-90M and T-80BVM any time soon, since I'm having much more fun playing China at the moment. The M4/M24/T-34 lineup is effective, fun and fairly easy to reach. After that I've also been enjoying the US 6.7 lineup a lot. Anyway, all this to say that you don't need to invest thousands of hours to have fun in Warthunder, quite the opposite, the more time you invest, the harder you have to keep your perspective on how you can actually enjoy the game.
Sidenote, the entire third of the game that is naval battles has to be considered pretty low on the iceberg, seeing how few people play it and how rarely it is mentioned anywhere.

Ending hit like a freight train
That ending hit me hard
Really made me think, with all it's flaws and gaijin's terrible practices, War thunder doesn't deserve and shouldn't ever be shut down
The ending was like Call of duty World at war ending
Everyone grinds to top tier…once they get there…they reach true enlightenment and go back to mid or even lower tier for fun
so true
Well that’s actually not because top tier planes are not fun but mostly because it has literally the same game mode as low tier planes with one little difference - at low tier anything that is further than 1-2km from you can’t do anything to you while at top tier you literally can be killed by a missile from 50+km and the biggest map is only like 100x100km with 32 planes that potentially can take 2-4 of these missiles.
So the other way is play sim, top tier sim is actually muuuuuch more fun than RB just because most of the time it has “realistic” amount of players in matches(4-6 total) which is much better but still maps are way too small for these planes
My exact situation lol
Honestly the "grind" of War Thunder is so often overemphasized. There is no real grind, its all based on YOU. And theres no reason to go through the tiers anyways. The game is fun and plays fine at tiers 1 and 2 and 3 just fine. Going higher changes nothing, youll still have tanks in BRs higher, and BRs lower than you. Its dumb to "grind", just play the game normally
@@Red-Magic well there’s a huge difference actually. For instance if you face 2.0 plane in 1.0 plane or if you face 5.0 plane on 4.0 plane or even if you face 8.0 plane in 7.0 plane it won’t be much harder to win and it definitely will be doable. But if you face 10.3 plane with all aspect missiles in 9.3 subsonic flareless plane it is a different story, you can win but it will be much harder and in most cases will depend on your opponent skill, not yours. Or if you face something like F-15J in F-4J you literally will have less than 0 chances to win. And the only way to evade situations like this is to get top tier plane that will never face planes that are muuuuch better than your plane until new planes are added and then you get these new planes etc etc
The key to happiness in War Thunder is to disregard the grind and enjoy what you already have.
I’m perfectly content at British Air Force at 2.7: two spitfires for dogfights, a hurricane as backup, a Typhoon for BnZ and bomber hunting, a Beaufighter as a light bomber/torpedo/pounder, and a Wellington for dropping cookies. I dont need anything more. My friends ask “don’t you want Hispanos?” I say “sure, but my enemies will have them too and I already do just fine with my .303 Brownings
I started a few weeks back and same, another factor as with all games is competitiveness, playing for fun, not for winning or getting the next tank.
This is called copium fyi
I want to add that there is also a secret Hangar Music that randomly might start playing when you have Italy selected, Yes, Bella Ciao is still in the game and it is a random super rare event that can happen and you can listen to it on the hangar.
7:02 Apparently, the weather affects shell velocity. The colder it is, the more your shell will drop.
Yeah it also affects certain flight performance too apparently. Not that you can really notice haha. Cool that it exists, feels like one of those legacy features from a time when devs would just "add cool stuff" without having to think if it would actually matter.
@@Polterbunit's very noticeable in spain air battles. While on the literal desert maps you obviously sweat tf out of your engine and quickly heats it up, it's still not as fast as when playing in spain where even if the weather is just tropical, the humidity is high and planes overheats after 5 minutes of full throttle
@@piscessoedroen Yeah lol, you reminded me of that. Spain was always weirdly mega hot. I wonder if humidity effects engines like it does me lol? You'd think a desert would be hotter, but I know that humidity is a crazy modifier at least for me irl.
@@Polterbun Fuck you mean you can't notice it, half the props in-game fly like bricks in hot maps but perform exceptionally well in cold ones. Get your facts straight before you say random bullshit like that
Bro said weather affects shell velocity
The mindset that the game can't be beat is one that is all too common, and for good reason, it's easy to just hate the grind and think that it's the only goal, and that's because of the way the game is set up and how it makes money.
However, to those who seek enlightenment, one can find the answer to what beating the game truly means, it is to realize that playing what's fun is the true victory of War Thunder. To achieve a state of higher being and enter nirvana, one must detach themselves from the grind, and play the tanks and planes that they find fun, only then will the suffering end.
I have been playing the game free to play for years, and during that time I have unlocked hundreds of vehicles, but never did I feel disheartened and sad, for I just played the game for the fun of it, never for the sake of the grind.
Head my teachings, share them with those in need, and you shall find peace beneath the cosmos....
at least until the nerf the thing you find fun :)
Honestly, same. I have bought premium vehicles, it no premium time or any of that. I just want some vehicles and play with those. I wanted and abrams and they have a premium abrams. I want a Pershing and unlocked it after a year. I also wanted the Sherman 76 and got it on my way to the Pershing. I just play to get what I want to mess around with. Never have I tried to grind to the top, just til I got my favorite tanks. Now I’m happy. This is the only reason I still play.
this kinda mindset only works for as long as vehicles you enjoy are ww2.
I hate ww2 and don't want anything to do with pre-60s stuff so i kinda HAD to grind to get to the fun part.
heratic the weight of your sins shall stay your feet and you will be left behind every tank every plane then and only then will god except you in to the kingdom of heaven lay down your money give your credit card number brothers left your hands praise the snail.
Woaaah WarThunder Buddha showing us the path to nirvana
incredibly cringe opinion, the original Warthunder content (pre-1953) is the most realistic and best modeled. The physics engine, game-modes and maps are designed for those vehicles, not for the modern crap. The most skilled players play WW2 exclusively, because high-tier is a poorly designed unbalanced shitshow
37:06 Da Real lore of Warthunder são os amigos que fizemos pelo caminho
Hilarious that dozer blades are super obscure when there was an entire update (Ground Breaking) focused on them lmao
for the is3 clip at 10:24, they were all shooting the strongest part and the comment section was annihilating the original poster for his stupidity
but for a game supposedly all about realism, theres no way that is3 wouldve survived, armour integrity is a real thing, the is3 is only cast armour too, not composite or anything
but yes, not the best clip to show russian bias, wouldve been better if he showed the any of the later war anything or t-34 mantlet black holes
yes but this is a video game if we are talking about realism half the tanks would have destroyed engines/transmissions before they reached the battlefield@@woober3480
@woober3480 i do wish armor would weaken if you shoot the same place multiple times, but even with that, a t26 has almost no chance of going through an is 3 from the front. Theres a reason nato developed a 120mm that fires heat and apds to counter it.

*Gaijin logic:*
*If youre unemployed you have time to grind everything.*
*If youre working you got money to buy progression.*
I can't disagree with that logic...
meanwhile
wargaming logic:
If ur unemployed you spend money on gold in order to win matches
(frick grinding you need to make in game purchases in order to get good matchmaking. wargaming matchmaker is rigged putting you in trash matches during events,or using boosters in game or trying to complete daily missions)
if ur working you spend money on gold in order to win matches.
honestly coming from world of tanks to war thunder i dont think war thunder is that p2w when compared to other military games like world of tanks, world of warships, world of warplanes.u guys have the game in good hands.
litreally world of tanks is full of rng let me tell you what is based on rng in 1 battle:
1.teammates that you get
2. spotting range and range of getting spot
3.damage dealt
4.if u hit the tank or not
5.if ur tank takes damage like fire damage or ammorack explosion
6. if u deal damage or just make a part of the tank critical (which unlike war thunder critical track and other stuff is useless)
(if u spend gold or buy a new premium or collector tank the matchmaker automatically puts you in winning games for the first 8-15 battles depending on what tank you have purchased and by what means).this made many players leave and they went to war thunder nowadays the player count on wargaming games is soo bad that new players get bots instead of other players can confirm it when i was using a new alt account which was grinded to the point where there were no bots in my older account.
Gamer logic:
The game is free so game was made free right? It doesn’t cost anything to develop the game and keep it running right? So the game should be marketed towards kids and basement dwellers with 0 money so they keep not spending money.

Best iceberg video I have ever seen... just amazing... good job ian
the fact that stars are astronomicaly accurate is really neat, i noticed it a few weeks ago while in a test drive, i was curious to see if they had put attention to this detail (astronomy is one of my hobbies) and when i saw that i could see Orion and the pleiades i instantly knew that meant the night sky was fully modeled
I used to play Operation Flashpoint from when it came out in 2001 and I was stunned as it was the first game I had ever played that had accurate skybox (ie stars, solar positions, phases of the moon), weather and dynamic sound effects. I am glad that WT does it too.

April fools for 2017 was actually inasne if you played a ton back then... this was the era when there were no modern era vehicles.
I love their April fools events cause they’re almost always really cool ways to test new features which is such a cool way to do it. Gives people a good way to test things while not changing the actual game before the features are completed
The TRUE LORE:
How to get unconscious by a 152mm shell
The ending is strong, unusual and thought-provoking. Nice video 👍👏✨
I knew about most of the stuff, but still fun to learn some things I didn't know, like the bomber exploit update, or the flying churchills !
A bit more about the music:
-The original hangar music isn’t a lab original composition for the game but a Mozart piece (IIRC).
-Fittingly for the Russian devs/composers, a lot of the music added for the ground battles is very Russian or Soviet in nature with all the percussion and low brass, which is a really great theme not just for the Russian tanks but the WWII era for ground battles in general
-“Advance Australia” is the German menu theme but also plays for Australian vehicles too (or at least it used to? Haven’t played in a while)
-There are old themes for the UK that have since been replaced. Both sets of music are pretty good though, although the older music is more evocative of old war thunder and that image of a strapping British pilot with some sense of nobility about him. The new music is much more imperial and grandiose.
-The new top tier music pieces always begin with a minute or so for a quiet section that allows for the battle to get started or for planes to get in the air.
-The actual war thunder theme was absent from the game for some time after the New Power update and its new theme song (the one with synth and drums at the start). Now, the old theme plays after a nation menu theme finishes (they used to loop) and then goes through other songs from the soundtrack.
Also, the only (intentional) photorealistic person in the game is on Bong’s P-38, which has a picture of his wife Marge as it did in reality.
The original hanger music was a playlist of 5-6 different tracks, one of which was Beethoven's symphony #7

Dozer blades actually acts as extra armour. But also it's hurting mobility by adding extra weight and you can actually stuck if you dive from the hill and stick into the ground with dozer blade.
It makes actual sence to have dozer blades on some vehicles like Centurion AVRE because it makes front hull armour inpenetrable for most enemies. On Leopard 2's dozer blades slightly increases protection against chemical rounds, but it's also reduce mobility very noticable.
Every time I play War Thunder, I will refer to it as "Feeding the Snail". Thank you for this documentary.

The grind to get to the top has been reduced significantly from the first time I started playing. I can remember a time where over half of the vehicles weren’t in the game yet. I remember when Naval finally got added. I played for a few years and made it to the standard Shermans and have since ground to top tier in a couple of nations.
As someone who has been playing since 2016 (and only got to jets last year) this video is pretty well made!
Some things I'd like to add :
• The old War Thunder channel narrator, Bruce, got ousted from his position after narrating a pro-Russian propaganda video about the Ukraine War
• Some notable community members has passed away (2and900 for example)
• War Thunder community dramas (like that one giveaway drama)
• Daebom (need I say more?)
• Extensive history of cheating (wallhacks, automated rangefinding, etc)
• Thunder Show (a series on WT official channel) used to reward people for making the best comment on their videos, the reward was 2000 GE (I won once 5 years ago :>)
• The Kursk map was hated so much Gaijin overhauled the map entirely after it got consistently excluded by the map voting feature, there's also some renowned removed maps like White Rock Fortress for example.
• Speaking of maps, the old test drive map also takes place on the old Kursk map (and vehicles didn't respawn back then so it's possible to kill every single vehicle)
• Some vehicles have been removed for one reason or another, the Maus for example got removed because of balance issues, there are also three German tanks (Coelian, Tiger 2 105, and Panther II) that got removed due to them behind ahistorical
• You could create your own missions in War Thunder, called user missions, there are some notable user missions, Ace Thunder for example, a series of user missions that had F-15s before F-15 was a thing
• And speaking of missions, War Thunder has a campaign mode, although it's pretty much abandoned now and no one plays them (but they still sell a campaign pack IIRC)
• Matches were more historical back then, vehicles and maps mirrored actual battles from WW2 and Cold War, this has since changed as more vehicles and nations are introduced
• War Thunder has a mobile version, called War Thunder Mobile, it's not very popular though, but the Ponies event from all the way back in 2013 is now taking place in the game (as of April 2024)
• War Thunder helped create a movie once, in 2016 Gaijin joined funding on the production of the film Panfilov's 28 Men, the movie had a scene where a soldier throws an AT grenade onto a tank that is a reference to War Thunder's most infamous trailer
• If you ever want to experience the old War Thunder from the pre-2014 days, go play Birds of Steel, it's an old game by Gaijin that would _become_ War Thunder later down the line
There's a lot more but these are the ones I can remember off the top of my head
On the topic of cheating. There was an interesting post on Reddit from a self admitted cheater revealing just how bad of a problem this is.
I've had my account since the beginning of 2013 and I don't know half of this stuff. lol at the part about Panther 2, Gaijin has plagued WT with so many cold war crap since then I don't even know how to enjoy rank 3 and 4 anymore.

Your point about nukes is a little miss leading, as you don't strictly need 20 kills to get one, it's actually a set amount of spawn points which don't strictly come from kills, but hits, scouts, assists really anything and the points needed also varies depending on which battle ratting your playing.
For 1 year of premium is $50 when there's a sale, if u play the game then just buy it & you'll get to top tier in no time.

In Realistic you need around 10 kills, and also some captures and kill assists, I had 2400 SP and only had 9 kills, but I had 2 captures.
9 kills annd using temmates as baits all time. very very funny, is it?

Yay Ian uploaded!
Bro please stop, gaijin is a Hungarian company that happened to be founded in Russia, they don’t even have offices in Russia I’m pretty sure. The main office is in Hungary dude stop
Uhh. Gaijin developers live in Russia. Russian government supports Gaijin. Gaijin sponsors a lot of things in Russia that are connected to history and military equipment such as films, games and other stuff. Main office location has only economic purposes. Bruh.
@@houston4ik ok if that's true then I want actual bias when it comes to top jets. Gaijin had a moment of weakness when they nerfed the SMT or what.
I the subject of music, we can not forget old war thunder had such masterpieces like Symphony No 7 in A major, Op 92 II, Allegretto by Beethoven. There was nothing like siting in the hangar watching your BF109 G-2 while blasting this music in your headphones 😢
Every time Advance Australia starts playing I can already hear prop plane engines firing up and machine gun fire in the sky
I've only meet one War Thunder player irl, AND HE WAS AN ITALIAN MAIN. OH LORD THE BOT PLAYER THEORY WAS REAL

i work a lot with its mission maker and the game has built in calendar that adjusts height of moon and sun together with starts based on the map and geographical location, you can even change date and all of the celestial bodies will moverealistically

Free to play as in the snail is free to take your soul if you play this for too long
My interactions with arcade players normally go like this "Oh yeah.I love war thunder.Let's play some games. Why the hell do I only have one plane"
Hi Ian - you probably won’t see this but I wanted to say your video inspired me to make my own iceberg video!
Happy to help!
I always spam in chat "Attack the E point!"

30:12 Don't ask Daebom what he does in his free time.
11:50
Incorrect you don't need 20 kills you need ~2500 mission score. So about 10 kills without dying (still possible whilst having death) ALSO fun fact. You can bring the cost of the nuke down with the "Airstrike" modification on light tanks!!
Why does he say "arcard"
German I guess
Man I am impressed. Increadible video, good job.❤
new military recruiting strategy: enlist in the military and you get full access to everything in war thunder for 1 year
