As an adult who has only just started playing minecraft, can I just say that I am absolutely fascinated by how these “scary” theories are almost identical to the urban legends we told each other when I was a kid. Children will be children, but now their culture is in minecraft
i have been following this game as a kid since its pre-alpha builds and i was never that much into the community but i remember when i was playing outside with the other kids at night and the oldest one would sometimes try to scare us by telling creepy minecraft stories he made up. It was really fun

It sounds like the priest conversion sound effect from Age of Empires.
It could be a reference to the shining... u know the “HERES JOHNY”, to me it sounds like that.
@@Amalgemotion Yeah thats what that is, dunno if its the exact recording or a new one but yes
Narwani
the evoker sound "Wololoo!" is a direct reference to the game Age of Empires, where monks converting enemy troops play the exact same sound, "Wololoo!". when enemy troops are converted, they switch over to the monks side, and the color of their clothing changes. this is again referenced in Minecraft, because if you put an evoker near a dyed sheep (either blue or red), the evoker can switch the sheep's wool color from blue to red, and vice versa.

The thing about the nether reactors removal is that I’m pretty sure it’s still in the files, but when mobile gaming got better and all that, they were able to actually add the nether and it was removed, but if you had an world with it, you can still have it, making it the rarest pocket edition block in the game I think.

does anyone remember in the old version of bedrock that at the build limit on the edge of the world, there was an endless solid area you could stay on?
I had a (possibly unofficial) version of Minecraft Pocket Edition for my ancient iPad. The worlds were really small, and at the world border was an endless void; I recall in creative mode you could fly above the build limit and walk on it, and you could walk endlessly in any direction. Closing the world and respawning would result in you reappearing within the bounds of the world border again. Is that what you're referring to?
Yeah.

Edit: Now there is a part 2, part 3 and even 4 where he talked more about obscure alpha/beta features and interesting theories. That's just the things i love about iceberg pictures👍
I was too tbh
There has to be more obscure things to add.
Bread From the Dimension of Frosted Plants I kind of mentioned it at the end but there are definitely some strange things from the very early days of the game. Like at one point I seem to remember starting the game with a stone house. Some other things that come to mind are chain mail being crafted with fire and the void fog. Another thing is the Game Theory videos. I never really watched them before researching this video, but he does a good job of thinking about how strange the game is. For example, we just sort of get used to enderman, but they’re actually pretty weird when you think about it. My hope is that more interesting things are going to show up, especially since Minecraft is having a renaissance of sorts.

It's marked as a negative
@@doughboywhine negative as in removal
Umm 1.16 didnt remove it...
Never thought of it that way. Interesting theory
I read (a long time ago though) the joke behind it is that it's marked with a - instead of a +, but it also uses the word removed which implies it's a double negative and so herobrine is actually added each update.
The cave ambience in real life is interesting, I swear I heard some of the cave noises before either in other games or something... Hearing them for the first time made it feel like some lost memory was trying to come back...
Fun fact about bedrock edition farlands, the picture shown in the video only accounts for the corner farlands, there are versions that go on in strips of alternating blocks and air, and when two "directional farlands" connect, it creates the grid farlands shown in the video

“cave noises happen in real life” if youve ever been around caves youd understand. they occasionally make creepy rumbling sounds if you stand outside by the opening. i used to cave all the time as a kid so its not new to me. basically the cave acts as a tube to focus and amplify the vibrations from the rocks and stuff moving in the earths crust which makes weird sounds from the caves.
