- In this footage from back in patch 1.47, Muddy Fudger takes on the entire enemy team single-handed and pulls off an historic victory. Well, not really single-handed I guess, but the blueberries in his own team didn't really contribute very much.
that turn fighting fw-190 tho....I love the fw-190, the one plane that taught me to fly disciplined, but if you're flying it to jump into the furball with, you're gonna have a bad time......lol

hey mate! great game by the way! i was wondering, what software do you use to record your in-game matches? i have been trying to find some nice software to use but, since i don't make YT vids or anything, i really don't want to spend money on it (or not too much money at least lol)... so i've been on the hunt for some good software that isn't too pricey to use just for WT to help guys just starting out with tactics + aiming especially as replays *never* show that accurately. thanks in advance and congrats again!

I use OBS my dude, it's free and it works better than most paid recording software does nowadays. Though at the time I think i was using nvidia shadowplay.

Oh, while watching the video I had that strange desire to press C and check what is around. How lucky he is to not being hunted with such situational awareness which is not enough for such agressive style.
The perfect balance of luck and skill, where the few situations you find yourself in you have the skills to deal with before they become overwhelming. A rare game indeed. I wish I was this invisible when flying low underneath the enemy spawn, but I can't have a dogfight at 3000m in the middle of the map without someone else (usually on the enemy team) joining the party before it's over.
But geeze... that hit detection. I wish I could say it's better these days, but unfortunately I would've believe a word of it.
Great match, that being said, I don't think that this is a great match to learn from. There was a great deal of mistakes throughout the entire match and each could have led to his death quite easily. His style in this match isn't one you could emulate with consistent success nor one I would recommend learning from. Here are some timestamps (You identified nearly all of these):
1:58 (Began the manoeuvre without a check)
2:39 (Began the climb without a check)
3:39 (Tunnel visioned on to a target and got a little bit low/close to enemy fighter spawn)
4:41 (Bit of a risky move in the middle of all the action)
5:05 (Same again his camera check was also a little bit late)
6:45 (Blind turn close to all the action)
7:58 (Arguably better to risk running to friendly lines while evasive than dogfight near enemy fighter spawn)
10:19-10:22 (Risky turns)
11:39 (Being rope-a-doped)
No disrespect intended to Fudger of course who had a fantastic high kill match. I could do the exact same thing to 99% of my own matches and find the same number of mistakes if not more. Fantastic aggressive gameplay all things considered.
Totally agreed - I included this because it was entertaining, not educational. I could, of course, upload videos that showed much greater technical prowess ... provided some of the top aces of the game wanted to send me footage ;)

Look at the length of this arcade battle! I remember playing a year ago, and I climbed up to get high flying bombers and before I could engage the match was over! No wonder everybody dives down into a stupid furball - no time to do anything else!

Hey Long, I hope everything is well with you. I am happy to see that you are posting again and flying occasionally. I hope you pardon me for taking a critical eye here, but with all respect to you and the participants in this fly-out, I'm not sure that this performance deserves to be a master class video. What I saw was a guy who got VERY lucky and the only skill exhibited was some reasonably good gunnery and one good reversal on the LaGG. Otherwise, this was just hyper-aggression that he survived due to luck, and the poor quality of the opposing team. It should've been a class in how not to fly a Yak-9 in air domination. As a side, I took a look at Muddy's player card and found that he has a consistently good record with using light/medium bombers as fighters. Its clear he is using them as fighters because of the extremely low number of ground kills versus his fly-outs. Dedicated fighters, on the other hand, not so much... Maybe you can get him to submit a video demonstrating use of a bomber as a fighter successfully. Thanks again, and I hope you all goes well for you this year.
Hey Julian, yes I partially agree with your comment, though I guess it depends on the purpose of this video series. If I just wanted it to be the top 0.5% of players, pulling off amazing maneuvers and making no mistakes, then this video would not qualify - but then again the only footage I've received that fits that criteria would be the first in the playlist (flip's). I saw this video, and the last one with Agent, more as good entertainment where players rack up a score in a manner that your average pilot can relate to. I don't think there's any harm in that, but yes if given a choice I'd always prefer to showcase the top echelon of players - I just need them to send me footage ;)
Fair enough. But I'd rather see more of YOUR performances. There's plenty of planes for which you haven't made a video and I'm sure the community would enjoy your insights. Again, thanks and the best to you in 2017.

One of my two favorite planes to use is the ki-102 because of it's climb rate, energy retention, and huge 57mm. It used to evaporate anything it touched, but now it can take several to down a bomber. I hit a b-18 5 times with the 57mm, 4 times with no hit registered. Had to kill it with the 20's ffs. It's still pretty good for killing sunderlands though.

Just curious, why do you need live recordings? Why can't you use replays?
I could show replays, but they're seriously flawed and aren't easy to watch. They work ok for videos where I'm analyzing a specific moment in the gameplay, but not for an entire battle where a lot's happening.
To be specific, my dislike of replays comes from their lack of network-lag compensation which puts planes in different locations to where the player saw them & makes it looks like shots are missing - if you want to learn how an expert pilot is aiming, you can't from a replay. Also they don't have a workable radar mini-map, there's no throttle information, no ammunition displayed, no fuel status or engine temperatures, no g-forces, blackouts or redouts ... and in recent patches the camera sometimes isn't even pointing where the user had it in the game.
If Gaijin resolved all the above I'd be happy to accept replays, but they've been like this for 5 years now so I'm not holding my breath on that ;)

hey mate long time no see! i was just wondering, mate, how many kills would you like to see in a battle to feature it on here? also, do you have a suggestion for recording software? i managed to pull off a couple 13 kill matches back to back yesterday in my Bf-110 but i'm not sure that would be good enough... i wanted to try to get a vid of a Heavy Fighter/Destroyer (Zerstörer) as i bloody adore them so you could maybe put it up but i find it quite difficult to get more than a dozen or so even on my best fly-outs in the low-engine powered, low-tiered Bf-110 and Do-17 Z models...
P.S. Really nice to see you again, mate! please, if you don't mind giving us an idea of good recording software that doesn't completely tank performance in-game please let us know! thanks!
For recording software, if you have an NVideo Geforce graphics card you should be able to use Shadowplay - www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/shadowplay but failing that, here's two free alternatives - MSI After burner www.msi.com/page/afterburner and Open Broadcaster Software obsproject.com/
I use MSI Afterburner, you can find plenty of youtube tutorials on how to set it up to record video.
As for what I'm looking for in ace masterclass vids, I've already been asked that question elsewhere so I'll cut & paste my answer:-
The flying does have to be excellent, and the battle has to entertain me. If I find myself smiling while watching it, good chance I might feature it in this series.
A lot of kills - that's an essential in Arcade where around 20 is the benchmark (more is great though), but its even better if those 20 were not easy seal-clubbings. I'd rather see the player show considerable style & skill, or as Fudger displayed in this vid, take crazy risks and pull them off. If its RB and SB, the requirement for skill rather than dumb luck gets a lot higher.
I'd also look to feature videos where a player's under a lot of pressure - eg. several enemies with decent skills are targeting him/her - and they manage to triumph regardless through clever defensive flying and finding a way to turn the tables.

Yes indeed, but that's what made it enjoyable to watch. This one wasn't as serious as the first couple of ace masterclass vids (especially flip's), as Fudger was just flying balls-out rather than displaying incredible skills - not that his skills were bad of course, quite the contrary.
Normally I would have gotten my ass handed to me flying like that-but as soon as I realized I could get away with it, there was no reason for me not to. It was more exciting and rewarding than taking it slow, which is what I always do when I play RB or sim anyways. Where's the fun in being cautious in arcade? These flightmodels were made to be abused :P

Anyone having issues with German 20mm cannons on tier 2 fighters/ interceptors? Seems to do less damage in some instances than others for some reason. I recognize when I miss or hit a poor spot on the enemy, but when a plane survives being raked from engine to rudder with air target 20mm as well as 7.92mm stealth ammo. Bombers like PBYs and such make sense, but fighters taking such a beating without even any loss of control (let alone damage) feels kinda wrong at times. I could even see heavy fighters surviving consistent hits (P47 for ex.). Anyway, I've wanted enough about my lack of skill. Anyone got thoughts on the question?
Stealth ammo for the 7.92 mg's. Explosive for the 20mm (been awhile but that was my usual setup.
(To correct) Tried incendiary but it didn't work well, either.
By now I gotta figure a lack of skill. Though it's been a good long while since I played lol
@kookymonkey6823 Possibly. Going against P51s and Spitfires and Messerschmidts is tough enough in an FW190. They can dogfight and I think also climb better, but the FW is pretty good for a diving strafe.
Just was weird when I'd go down from 2 or 3 hits by a .30 cal or 7.92, but they could all survive multiple hits by the same and a 20mm... not to mention infuriating lol.
That and the tank sniping are the main reasons I don't play much anymore. Never got gud lmao
@kookymonkey6823 I watched some videos about the specific planes or tanks i was using, as well as some about more general stuff like using terrain to your advantage, when to engage, ect.
Just didn't put in the time to get better through experience. I did see an improvement over the couple of months I played it and after checking out some videos. I just rage quit a lot back then lmao

At the moment I'm not sure. Guides were a lot of work, and right now I don't have the time or energy - and I'd be scared of burning myself out. Plus my flying is quite unimpressive atm, I'm really out of practice. We'll see though...

HArdly, because I have an ATI 6670 and a phenom II, don't know if 8gb of RAM will help in recording performance.
