I've NEVER Experienced such Friendliness - JAKARTA 🇮🇩
This is my first time in Indonesia, Jakarta! And I'm very lucky that I was here on Jakartas birthday!
This video showcases friendliness of Indonesian people here in Jakarta, I can't say that I have experienced something like that anywhere else. Indonesians are very welcoming and happy to greet you first.
If you ever considering travels to Indonesia you might want to visit Jakarta too! It is super busy city that is always hustling and bustling, there is a lot of culture and there is a lot of luxury brands and mega malls to explore.
My plan today was to head out to National Monument also called as Monas, as it was Jakartas birthday and they had some event going on there.
I started my vlog at some street food stall where I bought one of my favorite local dessert called (Klepon), for some reason I haven't seen too many stalls of it on the streets of Jakarta, so I was so pleased to see it.
I also purchased some mix drink called NutriSari that has Grape flavor.
After snack I went on my way to head closer to Monas.
I reached some underpass that was full of different Indonesian Street food that was quite interesting to see, I bought deep fried Tofu! (that rarely dissapoints)
I got on my way right away after my purchase as I wanted to get to Monas before light runs out. I passed some group of kids who played football who screamed at me, "Hey mister, picture" LOL. Kids were nice and friendly and showed how warm local people are.
I'm getting closer now, I got to Train Station it's called Gambir Station. I walked trough it, but I realized that this is not entrance to Monas. I asked lady who was working over, from where can I get in to the gated area and she kindly showed me the way.
Finally I reached the National monument grounds and as I expected there were a lot of people there.
In the gate I went to some carnival area where they had few joyrides for people, I didn't take any of them. Maybe should've, but I wanted to go see the monument closer first and lines on rides were massive..So I thought I rather let kids have fun, but I bet it would've been fun.
I had to take tunnel to get to Monas and good news, it was free. I'm not sure is it usually free or not. Maybe some of you know better. It was beautiful sunset that day so it was great to enjoy Jakarta city views from the platform.
There were a lot of picture requests that day, it felt a bit overwhelmed at times as I was trying to vlog too, but it was all good as people were really nice and friendly about it. That's gonna be funny if my face will be on some random Indonesian family photo album or even better maybe even on the wall.
After that I went for some water and street food as my stomach felt a bit light, I had to get back to the entrance area as there was some food and drinks before.
I got back to entrance, asked some locals about food and ordered myself some noodle dish with some sauce, it was pretty good dish. I had nice conversation with some friendly people who were chilling there too.
My stomach full and I felt hydrated I head back inside to see how the Jakarta birthday celebration is going. Sunlight almost out, they have turned on Monas light and it looked exactly like torch that was looking cool.
It was time to leave the party, but there were masses of people and motorbikes on the streets, so it was quite a struggle to walk back. All the walkways were clogged up and full of motorbikes, that sometimes I just had to walk on the roads instead. I never seen such busy traffic.
My last street food snack of the video was soft bread bun with some durian jam? I asked local girl does she recommend heating it up with steam or on pan. She recommended the steamer so I went for steamed Durian bun that I enjoyed right then and there.
Despite the bustling traffic and crowded streets, Jakarta's energy and hospitality left a lasting impression. It was a day filled with cultural delights and genuine connections, showcasing the heart of Indonesia."

The old lady who gave you her phone number, probably she wanted you to contact her in case you visit her hometown in Manado, North Sulawesi. Or maybe simply wanted a friendship. There are many Indonesian who like to make a friendship, or sincerely willing to help you when you have a hardship while you travel this country. I hope you have a great travel here.

Wow video bagus
Thank you, glad to hear that :)
Please pardon me to say this, but when you buy something at price of 5000 or below, you cant simply hand over 100.000, its kinda a little rude since seeking return especially during crowds and chaos, as seen after you return from monas, is very hard Try to find 20k or 50k, if you get 5k is even more appreciated, as long as not 100k
Yeah I had run out of smaller change. But i think in the end it evens out and for her its good to have bigger notes to save space in her bag.

If there are big days and holidays, there will be lots of people from various cities around Jakarta visiting to enjoy the holidays, as most of the people you meet come from other cities outside Jakarta. because most local Jakarta visit the mall, go on holiday outside the city, or just quality time with family at home
That makes sense :)

Basically, Jakarta is not a tourist city like Bangkok or KL but more of a business city, so few tourists visit Jakarta so it's naturally that you will see local taking photos with foreigners. It's different if you go to Bali, Jogjakarta and other tourist cities which are used to the presence of foreigners. still enjoy your day in the big Durian Jakarta
Yeah that sounds right, but honestly Jakarta is really interesting exactly how it is :)
If I were you, I'd laugh at a photo session 😂 Enjoy in jakarta bro
Haha yeah :D, its funny
Other than perhaps Bali, in other parts of Indonesia, "Bule" are a novelty and hence the many Photo requests, appreciate your willingness and patience in dealing with these requests....btw are you from Scandinavia/Northern Europe?
