    Thank you for this wonderful video. Good to see that you tried the Malaysian traditional Chinese dessert. There are close similarities between the traditional Malay, Chinese and Nyonya desserts. I like them all. You should also try the savoury dessert or kueh or snack like karipap, popiah and vada.

    • @Gymson
      @Gymson  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Yeah I should try savoury ones. Yeah I'm not sure if it was Malay or Chinese, but looking them up I found out that there are a lot of similarities so Malay sweet as its in Malaysia😁🥰🇲🇾

      @@Gymson No worries. That's what explorations are all about, learning, discovering and enjoying new life adventures. You are doing just fine, great actually. I'm not that familiar with the Chinese and Indian savoury kueh, I only know the steamed bun with savoury filling or popiah and vada. But for Malay kueh, I know more like karipap, pulut panggang, kueh cara berlauk, pulut urap, cucur badak, cucur udang, keropok leko, sata, otak otak, and many more, yummy. 😀

    Glad that you are well. Pudu area is more of local Chinese food. You can explore the food here. That's another place in Pudu which is name Restaurant Ruby Dessert serving dessert paste such as black sesame paste, almond paste, peanut paste but not the kueh. If you don't mind the hawker stalls you can also try out food at Wai Sek Kai street, Pudu.

    Those are not malay desserts, those are actually malaysian chinese (more specifically ethnic peranakan/nyonya) desserts. Hint - look at the chinese characters on the wall and signboard/menu. We call those type of dessert = kueh. I love those nyonya kueh and used to eat them at least once a week when i was younger. Glad that you enjoyed them too.

    • @Gymson
      @Gymson  Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@Gymson Yes some of those kueh use similar asian ingredients with malay kueh. Those items you had are distinctly traditional malaysian chinese desserts with some malay influence but you can't call them malay desserts. Its part of ethic peranakan chinese culture to use local (malaysian) ingredients in their chinese food. If you would like to taste real malay kueh or food do let me know and I can treat you at some super nice authentic malay food/ restaurants.
