Our layer chicks and meatbird chicks and chickens, ducks, and turkeys get raw (goat/sheep) milk - usually a little soured or skimmed. I will also give my chicks an apple core to peck or rinds of melons or squash and definitely leftover scrambled eggs. Once they are older, they absolutely get all food scraps.

I ferment laying hen grain with raw milk. They love it. Haven’t tried it with meat birds. Why not?!

I know it's hard to find the right replacement PTO cover, even such universal replacement kits can still be dangerous. one could make a large placed over plywood box, over it, yet then if it loosens up and it goes flying and thus more dangerous. needs to be some retired tecnitions running on donations sneaking on to farms and pimping out peoples PTO's. Well I tend to drill holes in golf balls and pacing them on rebar property markers anonymously, even after the safety engineer placed coloured survey tape on them, in thinking that no one ever slips and falls.

I like the idea Mark. However.... all that skim milk could have still been used for cheese!!! I do 4-5 gallons when I make cheddar. If you had two pots, it wouldn't take that much more time. Then you could also make ricotta with the whey... then use that final whey to inoculate your biochar....? Whey is a great acidic fertilizer and buttermilk also. If you are feeding it, I would think you could ferment the food with it just like one would do with kefir?...Fun stuff.

Excellent work. Some people argue against grinding them up to the size of sand grain thinking that they need biochar of different sizes don't understand that it's not easy to disperse the biochar in such a large quantity without heavy machinery which in turn, cost fuel to run. Grinding the char to this consistency allows earth worms to swallow the grains which serve two purposes simultaneously: dispersion of the char into the soil and innoculate the biochar inside the worms gut.

Did you see the Texas farms being poisoned by the fertilizer from the city sewer plant? The government authorities had no clue. I bet. Fort Worth sewage sludge fertilizer blamed for poisoning animals, land in lawsuit. Nice video...
