Fabulous video Mark. Brings back memories of milking by hand in the early 50s and my father got the bucket full and the cow put her foot in the bucket. Neighbors had a huge herd of Jersey milk cows near Corunna, Michigan. Those cows were beautiful. Sweet feed? Molasses. Godspeed...
Excellent video - Thanks!
Hey Mark and Jill - year's ago there was a thread on an AOL BBQ chat board (told you it was old) where this one ol' timer had half the people convinced that cattle generally would get up off the pasture on their right side and therefore you wanted to buy "left-handed" briskets for competition because they weren't exercised as much and were more tender. You ought to do the same for this cow - sell the milk as right-handed milk, tell folks it's creamier because the cows generally like circling in the stalls to the left, and pretty soon it'll catch on and people will want to pay more, like A2 milk - lol
We have a kick bar, but luckily we have not had to use it....I got kicked once in the nose but that was my fault when she was really full. Interesting on milking from the right. My set up, I only milk from the left 😕. I wonder if the side they were trained from is the difference....
