You post a video listing races by usefulness and everyone loves it. I post a video of the NBA draft with the same topic and suddenly I'm a monster.

The way to use Link Of Pain is to target an enemy you know has low armor/resistance, link it to a much sturdier enemy, and nuke the weak one. The damage that will be shared to the tankier unit will bypass its high armor/resistance, dealing much more damage then if you did it by yourself. Very nice channel by the way. It's good to see modern guides for ToME.

Actually, elemental surge radius is not from you, its from an enemy in 10 range that is randomly selected when the surge triggers. and each blast triggers individually. I mostly used it for the damage because it does HUGE burst damage. to me, the buffs are just a little extra

I wanted to give this game a try , but cant reduce resolution without losing skill icons, and at high res I cant see shit all is so small ;[

Undead are fear immune, but heighten fears still damage and apply fears, so it's still good imo

HEALING - it's nice to see someone's using Healing basically all the time. Even if I switch to Stormshield often at the end. Though if there's no good Stormshield then I don't bother with it ofc. So it's kinda vice versa in my experience - Healing is better for early-mid, Stormshield is better when going East where the wounds/poison/diseases don't feel like a threatening debuff anymore unless your character have literally 0 means of replenishing health without using Inscription slot. In that case ofc I wouldn't get rid of Haeling. But also if I'm playing such class/build I go and corrupt the heart for passive healing from crits and Stormshield is still on the table in this case. DISSIPATION Rune - in 90% cases I inscribe it specifically on the 10th floor of High Peak before the last fight, in other 10% cases I do it for the Pride bosses when I dont feel confident to burst them quickly which usually means I didnt get lucky with great gear even after using Font or my build is some meme build like MAG/Staff Bulwark - Bergard Zeman in Characters Vault for exmaple. Otherwise, except those very much endgame scenarios and when you know what to expect from all mage classes - I think Dissipation Rune is a win more inscription and I'd easily prefer Acid Wave or 2nd defensive/cleansing inscription to it for example. ACID WAVE Rune - to me it is a must have on just about any class in melee IF I'm unlocking 4th inscription slot. It alleviates insane amount of pressure and you can safely chain it into stun at the end of its expiration and not getting blocked/parried/etc. if the fight is prolonged. It took me a long time to actually try it properly but once I did it's hard not to put it at the top of the priority list on any (semi-)melee class. TELEPORTATION Rune - not that I do it often but even on insane I find some use for it if I have 4 inscription slots by level 20. I replace an "optional" 4th inscription with it to fully clear all floors of Sandworm Lair AFTER I beat the boss on the bottom floor. In this particular case it's a great QoL and a timesaver while you don't miss any gear or exp from those 4 floors. Once I'm done with Sandworm Lair (always my first T2 unless alternative layout then it depends) I replace it again with that "optional' 4th inscription rune/infusion. I'm not going that route if I couldnt find any decent 2nd copy of that 4th inscription rune/infusion to replace Teleportation rune though.

temporal bolt is actually better than you think. In a straight line cast it behind an enemy. if you do it right, the bolt will hit the enemy TWICE (and potentially more in rare cases) when the enemy moves towards you. This only works because it's slow. since there's so many corridors in ToME this works very often. Also dimensional anchor is quite useful in general against teleporting enemies AND as you know it makes you able to spam time skip. P.S (I'd love if you could talk about mindslayer, it's a very fun and interesting melee/close range attacker. The fact you can level your talents without investing in previous ones, except for capstones, is amazing for build making! The class has SO MUCH DISABLES, you can stun, freeze, flameshock,sleep, pin... it's like being an ice/storm archmage but psionics lol )

Hi Drybe, at 31:12 you show that your character has Nightmare, Fungus and Mindstar Mastery allocated, while on the right side there is Nightmare at 20 and Fungus at 34 mentioned. So how can I also get Mindstar Mastery allocated? I just learned it from Zigur town, but it's gray. Is there a way to enable it somehow or how did you get an additional category point for that?

The thing most ppl do wrong, as i did, is just keep hunting def/health items when ure lvl 25+ , at that point your health pool is fine and you should have etheral form that makes you able to skip def on gear, and instead go for more damage, that will make you kill faster so u dont have to tank that much, and ofc abilities like teleport boots and whatnot.

What do you think of instead of taking the mecha-arachnid, use the category point for an extra inscription slot?. Or using higher for handling the steam cost

Can't you get 2 orbs by using Drem's frenzy or how it's called? Also the last talent in meta tree should be able to reset non fixed cooldown spells. So maybe it's possible to even have 3 orbs going at the same time without relying on mirror image. I also remember the first talent from meta being very useful as well, it's like another rune of dissipation I believe. And I guess I was wrong abut quicken spell being gone, it seems like the effect (up to 30 spell cooldown reduction) was merged to spellcraft now.

just died on this boss, wish i had 3 runspeed runes inscribed just to run around..

Should take the last skill in fungal, sudden growth, I put 2 points in with Adept it is a Full Healthbar Heal with regen up, basically my strongest heal, has saved my rear so many times this run

First! I just heard about beams and you already had my interest. Do you have a possessor guide planned? I head it's a very strong class, but it's unique so i'm not sure what you think about it

Oozemancer was my first Insane Roguelike win, going Cornac and saving the talent category point until level 10 to unlock both Oozing Blades and Corrosive Blades was amazing. Since both beams have a cooldown of 3 turns I could use both beams -> Acid Splash -> both beams -> Call of the Ooze -> both beams -> Poison Spit -> both beams -> Acid Splash again. Having that kind of offensive capabability paired with the immortalness of Oozemancer is insane, I killed all the hyper bosses with that character as well.

tutorial: pay for the game, pick "posessor" class.. then either pick doomelf or krog for starting race, thats it you may now literally become a dragon or demon with 10% less in the original beings stats.. oh acid damage? just become the being with resistance to it. all possible as long as you "pokeball" their hp with your ability krog= dragon doomelf= demon drem/dwarf= horror
