These are moments that make traditional rogue-likes my favorite genre -- the moments after you've really done something stupid, and then suddenly everything comes in to sharp, detailed focus and clarity and it's all cleverness and desperation and lateral thinking, and suddenly you're mortgaging every trick, defense, and exploit you know to give yourself a chance to survive. Desktop Dungeons and Tales of Maj'Eyal are two of my most beloved games because they excel at putting you in those situations fairly, and giving a lot of tactical, creative options to dig yourself out of the hole.
Such a good game, glad to see it keeps challenging you. Also would love to see a let's play from you or a stream. Your decision making and threat assessment are invaluable

Temporal Warden really is a cool class and my first ever TOME win like 12 years ago. A bit busy on the keyboard, but super well designed. I'm a simple man -- I see a mob, I bump. Would you recommend completely removing Irresistible Sun from the build then or just postponing it in favor of Distant Sun? Can't wait for the in-depth guide whenever it comes! :D
I think it's just strictly worse than Arcane Might. Having to spend a turn on it, if you get surprised, matters a lot and Sun Paladin already has a bunch of other turn-taking buffs. It eventually making enemies have 0% resistances is tempting, but I am yet to get to that point of the game. So I'd only take it, if you're really committed to the theme of the class evolution.
Lol I bet on my own MOTHER that in actuality you thought you were absolutely done for and were completely struck by surprise when you leveled up and healed from the Sandworm Queen kill

I didn't think I would kill the Queen in time though
