I needed this video 4 years ago
Oh god... that the video I didn't knew I needed, even after a year (~180h) playing the game :)
I did a double take when I saw a guide video recommended for ToME, this is cool. Thanks for the video!
I really jealous for your content editing skills and attitude. it takes a lot of willpower to through away some content which wasn't delivered as expected.
Love your videos man. You are the best.
Thank you :)
Can you go over the artifacts tierlist?
Yes please
I'll think about doing something like that.
A lot of the artifacts are in a weird place, where you could make builds around them - te4.org/wiki/Elemental_Fury , but you'd have to save them in the Vault in between runs, otherwise you might not ever find it.
I like starting each run from nothing, focusing more on the class than the items and if you're not planning for them, it's hard to fit them in your build. So I've never used a lot of the cooler ones.
Just wanted to thank you for your content. I've always was more of a DCSS guy, but your content helped me understand the game and I've just got my first Tome win. For now on nightmare but next I'm tackling Insane.
Happy to hear that, congrats on the win
Really enjoy your videos, they are very informative, I always have trouble in the tier 2 dungeons!
Thank you! I am a new player, stumbled upon your guides, currently playing and dying in nightmare, and this was very useful to shamefully reconsider some of my needlessly aggressive itemisation choices in the early game.
Kudos for the old Lioneye's Watch theme
OMG thank you!
Getting back into ToME after I get salty playing Tekken, lol. Your guides are always awesome, love your channel. Got my first win from your temporal warden guide!
What class guide is next?
Happy to hear it helped!
I'm going to play Possessor next, so probably that.
im loving the new tome. im eagerly awaiting for the new dlc
The thing most ppl do wrong, as i did, is just keep hunting def/health items when ure lvl 25+ , at that point your health pool is fine and you should have etheral form that makes you able to skip def on gear, and instead go for more damage, that will make you kill faster so u dont have to tank that much, and ofc abilities like teleport boots and whatnot.
Hey, another question. About how long do you think it took for something to start clicking for you to where you didnt need to follow guides? I'm at nearly 400 hours and i only have 1 win on normal thanks to your temporal warden guide. Still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing..lol.
I consider myself decent at rpg games like this, but for some reason i can't wrap my head around character building in this game.
I still barely ever get to the master on normal. (I am a habitual auto explorer though im sure that's part of it)
It's hard to say, I still learn new things about the game and change my opinions often.
I think my biggest breakthrough happened, when I got better at running away from fights. Ideally you should always have the option to get to safety in 1 or max 2 turns (Movement Infusion usually)
Without that, you are just gambling, that you'll be stronger than every possible class combination/enemy spawn cluster you'll come across.
It might not sound like the most helpful advice, but I just try to understand and learn from every death.
If I got one/two shot, why? Is it because of a resist? Am I in the Dark Crypt? Is my gear bad? Did I stand next to a Rogue for a turn?
It's a never ending process, but it's what makes the game satisfying to me, I always feel like I could've played better.
And don't worry, I also auto-explore a lot, it makes the game a lot more enjoyable and it's very rarely the reason you die.
@@Drybe yeah I definitely kinda just unga bunga my way through instead of running away. also I just don't really know how to build a character properly, I've played countless hours of aRPGs and the character building is kinda similar? But for some reason it just doesn't click for me lol, not really sure what skills are "good" to max and kinda plan a build around, especially on a character I haven't followed a guide for.
Wow, there's ToME content on YT...
How do you display enemy class on the tool tip?
I use this addon for enemy tooltips: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1919839982
It shows all kinds of information, but I mostly use it to quickly see immunities, when you hold shift.
I think vanilla should show the class in the tooltip above where it shows it's hostile, but it's been a long time since I used it, I could be wrong.
