This flight was taken in the middle of School Holidays, and just after the F1 Grand Prix was raced. I thought the same given my flight to PVG was mostly full a few days prior.

No, they close the road at Brienz. Only residents & approved guests can drive and it is usually under control. Given how steep & narrow the road is and with the volume of buses, I personally wouldn’t want to even if I could.

It was always cancelled for 2024 as they were to have their display near Luzern in August. 2025 being cancelled is a massive bummer as I was planning on going back over… fingers crossed for 2026 (or a change of opinion for 2025)

The flight over was with Japan Airlines and it flew the Polar Route but some distance South of the actual North Pole.

It certainly was a great time, so good I will be back again this coming Christmas. So many things still to see, and the Waffles... and everything else on offer for Breakfast was delicious.

I originally only went there to check out the Food Court offerings, and grab something to eat. Then noticed firstly how big the store was, along with a lot more familiar products than I expected. I thought there would be some Kirkland products, but it looked like they pretty much had everything, and a whole lot of things I had never seen at Costco before (obviously Chinese orientated). @@ausflyer Sam's Club in Panyu, Guangzhou is about 90% Chinese oriented and quite boring for the most part, a couple of months ago they got TIM TAMs from Australia and I bought so much of it cause you just don't see it often and it was all gone within a week.

I have received that certificate on other flights that travelled over the Arctic (to/from Tokyo). I believe this flight was well South of the North Pole due to reduced head winds.

There was only a very small queue to enter when early entry commenced (1hr prior to regular park hours). Only Transformers & the Great Spaghetti Space Chase Rides were open from the moment the park was entered. It did give a great head start for the Battlestar Gallactica Coasters as we were lined up as the park officially opened. By the time the crowds arrived, both coasters were done, then the Mummy was pretty much a walk on.

@@coverthis1000 both rides were walk ons. There are some real good photo ops as well with the ‘Me Want Cookie’ cart and others with only a handful of people around.

Unless the SYD to SIN flight is early, or the SIN to LHR flight is delayed, you won’t have enough time. Once the flight from Sydney arrives you would need to clear Singapore Immigration (paperwork done on the MyICA app), then exit the Terminal and go across the road. (Distance is not an issue). Then you will need to be through immigration at least 1hr before the LHR flight and head to the gate, which can at times be one of the gates towards the end of the D pier. Then you have full security screening at the gate (no liquids over 100ml etc etc). Boarding usually commences 45 minutes prior to departure. If it was just to view the Jewel Waterfsll, & stretch your legs, yes it is possible. And only really with a longer break could you make it worthwhile.

I hope they were as good as the flights I have been on.

Where possible I try & fly on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Not during School Holidays, and pray to the aviation gods… seems to work 60-70% of the time.

Whilst the Business Class cabin on both the A333 & A332 are the same, Economy on the A333 I find is a step up from the 200.

@@ausflyer yeah, looks similar to the one they have on their 787. I noticed the difference as IFE screens on A332 looks outdated, mostly. And unfortunately all flights to Jakarta (my hometown) are using A332.

Not all my planning is as good as I try to make it. It was booked mainly as a weekend away to visit Shanghai Disneyland as it is one of the last remaining Disney parks not yet visited (Tokyo is due to be ticked off the list in June, & Paris early next year). I did make enquiries regarding tickets as soon as I got to the hotel, but it was a sellout. What was good is on the Saturday afternoon/evening the amount of people in the City and around The Bund wearing team colours was amazing. Aside from upcoming flights already booked, I think I need to look at what events are being held in the broader scheme of things, as the F1 would have been awesome to attend.

Seat Recline in the back row is the same as other rows, the bonus is nobody behind pulls back on the seat or can be inconvenienced at any time during the flight. No issue with the bathrooms being nearby.

This trip was from Christmas/New Year just past. I caught the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn on Christmas Day and stayed till the 29th before catching the Ferry back to Helsinki, then the train to Tampere & Kuopio. (videos of all on here somewhere)... I am planning on going back this coming Christmas, but will likely fly in as I might spend a few days before, or after in Latvia or Poland... before said person does something else in that region (keeping in mind, Estonia & Latvia were part of the USSR). The hotel was very nice, and the best part about it, very reasonably priced. 4 nights including full breakfast daily was just under AU$600 all up (including taxes, fees etc), so AU$150 per night... you cannot find a hotel in Australia of that quality for that price...

What would you like to know? The Finnair crew were great, service was efficient. Due to airline policy I need to avoid video recording of the crew.

A Wet Lease includes the Finnair crew. The soft product & IFE is all Qantas issued. Qantas crew will take over the operation next year.

For a smaller airport it was very good. I always love boarding a flight directly from the apron.

The facilities at Changi are amazing... just take away the heat & humidity and I would certainly visit there more often. Thank you... maybe one day Melbourne will get the memo, and stop talking about a rail/metro connection to the airport, and just get it done.

Plenty of food, everything aside from the aircraft and crew are Qantas products. Given it was a day flight of less than 8hrs, we had a hot meal after departure, they came through the cabin a few times with snacks and drinks during the flight (plus you could go to the Galley and grab a snack) plus the small hot snack prior to arrival. I flew on the Qantas A330 service between Singapore & Sydney last June and the food offering was the same. (and all seats had QF Blankets, Pillows & Headphones).

Enjoy the flight. I have the same flight again in June, then Helsinki to Osaka later in the year.

@@lunarcowboy9275 They actually have quite a good recline. I must remember on my next flight in a Finnair A350 to video the recline (and some of the other seat features).

"Technically" the recline is meant to be 1-2cm less than other seats, but with body weight in the seat I have never noticed a difference. The massive advantage is you never have anyone behind you pulling back on the seat to get up, or the heavy handed person using the touch screen a little too enthusiastically.

@@ausflyer Cheers mate. I'm at the end of the second economy section (ahead of the galley, rather than the loos) on QF1 in a couple of weeks, and thought that unless the seats were completely locked and had next to no recline, the advantage of being able to recline the entire time (no courtesy waiting for bed time!) would negate any loss of recline.

@@Monte1985Cristo I have changed from Row 88 to Row 77 on a few QF1/2's and both rows are exactly the same. I find Row 88 is a little quieter as the section immediately behind the seats is a storage area, plus the self service snack and drink cabinet. And yes, being able to recline the seat for the entire flight is a bonus.

@@ausflyer Hmm, very good point on the quieter front. Additionally, the third economy cabin has 10 rows (4 of which have some obstructions that reduce seating numbers further) compared to 12 rows in the second cabin. Our upcoming flight is pretty chockers, but row 86 has a couple of suitable openings (88 is booked out!). Might make the switch to 86 off the back of your video here and seeing the amount of room around the snack bar. Hopefully not a giant line for the loos that way snaking down the aisle.

I went on a Friday. I believe early entry is daily, when you buy tickets it will state if early entry is available. The only rides I would not be sure of would be Battlestar Galactica - Cylon (Human should be ok as there are no inversions), and Revenge of the Mummy. Everything else should be fine.

I have flown the A350 a few times between HEL & LHR, on 2 occasions it was one of the last flights before the cabin upgrades (videos are online for both). Most recently I couldn’t be as flexible with timing so flew the A321 instead. I have at least 4 flights later this year between LHR & HEL (all in Economy this time). Great thing is for approx €30 you can select a Premium Economy seat, with Economy service. And the Blueberry Juice… Addictive. Thank you, Kiitos for the kind words.

They are leasing Finnair A333’s to cover both Singapore & from this weekend, Bangkok flights to/from Sydney. This is due to massive delays with both Boeing & Airbus not being able to deliver new aircraft. If anything, with the upgraded cabins these aircraft are better than what QF have. Everything on board, pillows, blankets, headphones, food, drinks is exactly as you would get on a Qantas aircraft. I was only in Singapore for the weekend, so carry on only. Checked bags are all weighed at check in, so no way around that. As with all international flights, the limits are strict, but even on a basic fare you have more than enough allowance starting at 30kg per person. The service was excellent, and for economy meals they were good, with main meal soon after departure, mid-flight snack & pre-arrival hot snack (8hr day flight). 9.5/10

@@ausflyer so you could have one bag at 30kg or it must be broken apart. 30kg is a heavy bag

@@duaneowens7777 For flights to Asia, Qantas allow multiple baggage items up to 30kg for passengers flying Economy with no frequent flyer status. So you could have 2 bags at 15kg each. No single piece of baggage can exceed 32kg. With my Qantas Frequent Flyer Status my baggage limit is 50kg, if flying Business Class it would be 60kg. Overall the baggage limits I believe are generous. (You can take more, you would just need to pay for it).

I find that configuration is more suitable for couples and families. The 3-3-3 is ok if not a full flight and you have an empty seat, but if full, no thank you.

All the Finnair A330’s have the amazing new Collin’s AirLounge seats. I believe from the outset of the Finnair flights out of DOH they have used the new cabins. At least with Finnair you cannot get Qatared by their terrible Business Class offering on some aircraft (3 across in Business Class, no thank you).

@@ausflyer ... agreed with the horrible 2-3-2 business class layout. At the end of the year we've got 1-2-1 A380 Emirates on 3 legs but 2-3-2 in an Emirates 777-300ER BUD- -DXB. At least its a relatively short flight compared to the other flights in A380s. BTW, on our flights with Qatar MEL-DOH-MEL in Q seating (excellent), I'd forgotten just how noisy B777s are - even up front.

Lately if I am not flying Qantas, it will be with Finnair. I am looking forward to getting back to Helsinki in June, then a few more times later in the year. Kiitos.

If you are able to snag what are normally classed as ‘Economy Comfort’ seats at the front, you are afforded a generous amount of legroom, especially the bulkhead row. The Comfort seats are easy to identify with the upgraded leather type headrest over the standard fabric ones. On the A330 I think it was only the front row on the side seating, & the first 4-5 rows in the centre section. My return flight video is from the very back row to give a fair overview of the economy seating. I believe the new seating Qantas has announced for the new A350’s & other aircraft will be right up there… I hope.

Thank you (Kiitos), I have been wanting to do this flight (and the return flight which I will have a video on in the coming weeks) since they started in late October, 2023. I was actually flying back from Helsinki to Singapore on a Finnair A359 flight a few days prior to this service starting, my timing was slightly off as I could have done both flights on AY aircraft. The Sydney to Bangkok (& return) Finnair service starts this weekend, so we will have 2 x AY A333's visiting us on most days. I have the DOH/HEL flight on my 'to do' list.

83K in the small economy cabin at the rear of the Upper Deck. I have spent a lot of time on Mount Rainier as I have friends who live South of Seattle. Pre Pandemic it was a yearly thing to drive up and go for a walk around (usually in the middle of Winter). Thank you.

Row 77 looks like it will be right at the trailing edge of the wing. All of the Row 80 and higher seats will give you views like I had. I find that smaller economy cabin to be a little more private, plus with the Galley right there, easy access to snacks and drinks@@kevinpowers9024
