  • After a good (but hot and humid) weekend in Singapore, it was time to head home.
Starting at Raffles City which the Swissôtel The Stamford adjoins, and the City Hall MRT Station is below, it was a quick trip to Changi Airport.
I allowed plenty of time to walk around the Jewel, which you could realistically spend most of the day at, and not get bored.
Once the Qantas First Lounge opened I made my way through immigration to chill out until the flight left just after 8pm.
As usual, the food was amazing, and service fantastic.
Before long it was time to head to the gate, where security screening is performed. Once in the waiting area aside from the great view of the Finnair A330, the Qantas A380 flying QF2 (also to Sydney) was boarding, and soon after departed.
Boarding was on time, and we were on our way.
The flight was roughly 3/4 full, dinner service was shortly after reaching cruising altitude. The Roast Chicken was tasty.
Thankfully we had a good tail wind behind us, and the flight only took just on 7hrs, arriving into Sydney 50 minutes early.
Perfect timing for some great Sunrise views as we flew over Kurnell into Sydney.
The service by the Finnair Crew was on point, very friendly, efficient & professional.

We like Changi Airport. A good mate of mine when he goes to London makes sure he flys via Changi to take advantage of the showers in the Airport Lounges. Either Singapore Airlines or Qantas. He pays for the privilege but it is worth it. You told me last week that there was a Qantas/Finnair Economy video on the way. Nice presentation as usual. Regards. P.s Attention Melbourne, this is how a real subway runs.

The facilities at Changi are amazing... just take away the heat & humidity and I would certainly visit there more often.
Thank you... maybe one day Melbourne will get the memo, and stop talking about a rail/metro connection to the airport, and just get it done.

Thanks for sharing, do seats in the last row have full recline? Was location in front of the lavatory bothersome / noisy?

Seat Recline in the back row is the same as other rows, the bonus is nobody behind pulls back on the seat or can be inconvenienced at any time during the flight. No issue with the bathrooms being nearby.

liked the vid as usual but would have liked a comment about the crew rather than just "wet lease"

What would you like to know? The Finnair crew were great, service was efficient. Due to airline policy I need to avoid video recording of the crew.

A Wet Lease includes the Finnair crew. The soft product & IFE is all Qantas issued.
Qantas crew will take over the operation next year.
