SSRI-induced delayed orgasm (DE) and anorgasmia - Dr Pastuszak's paper
In this video I go over a paper by Dr. Alexander Pastuszak MD PhD exploring the treatment options for delayed ejaculation (DE) and anorgasmia. In this paper, Dr Pastuszak summarises the literature and presents an overview of the neurotransmitter systems involved in the orgasmic response in men.

What are you take now which tablet ??
You forgot moclobemide/Aurorix
Buspirone could be a good adjunct . Mirtazepine and mianserine are common used as "boosters" . Good luck!
Pregabiline is really good for sleep
Thanks from India.i am 57 had acute anxiety since I was 25 .I find your symptoms similar to mine.i am on lexapro 20 and ambien 12.5 since nothing will make me fall asleep. I wish everything works well for you.
I took 20mg a day. Didn't do a thing for me.
Yay pill doctor 😂😂
What are taking now
Lexapro affects libido, sex drive not good
Couldn’t you just take half a tablet of each. ,get the best of both worlds brother , king of the jungle
The main thing I noticed about Trintellix is that it has a big set of balls
I tried ambien, rivotril several years and I came off thanks to a addiction center. Now I take trazodone for sleep and it's good! Not addicting, wake up good, sleep 8-9 hours. It's the extended release. I've tried antipsicotics but I dislike them so much
What do you do to sleep 9 hours?
I took fluvoxamine but I was sleepy all the day and I could't focus on things
Bupropion (Wellbutrin) is the only antidepressant that really worked for me... Lifechanging. Feels natural, few side effects, introusive thoughts gone, anxiety almost gone, self esteem improved
How's the sexual side effects on this new medication?
I have had this for 3 years even tho im bipolar type 2 and a half (bd 2, 1/2).. not good trying to quit now
Did it help you with Insomnia ?
Have you had genetic testing for determine what meds might be more beneficial and which are likely to be poorly processed? I did genesight and it’s been validating. I had an ok time on Prozac, it didn’t ramp up anxiety or give me nausea, which is good because I had really bad anxiety at the time. It did interfere with libido and ability to climax. I didn’t notice it doing anything good for me, but in retrospect I can see from the way I interacted on social media that it had a positive effect, I was more patient with people when they were irritating. I was less reactive. Unfortunately I was asked to go up to a higher dose (doctor didn’t think I was at a beneficial dose) and as soon as I did that I started having tremors so badly I couldn’t work or even feed myself soup, so shaky! It’s been ten years since I’ve been on any meds and am about to start over (to cope with pandemic/climate/recession stuff, but also manage adhd traits like executive dysfunction and fatigue) which is how I found this video. My new doctor wants me to try Luvox and then add in Adderal. He is basing this on the genesight info and his years of experience with neurodivergent people, but I’m scared to take anything that might give me anxiety or weird side effects like that. That being said, my psych nurse who is the one actually helping me with the med journey thinks I should start back on Prozac again since it’s “the devil we know” and see if I have a better time of it since things may have changed for me. We see it as a jumping off point to to open the door to trialing other meds if it doesn’t fit just right. I’m at a crossroads, and was hoping to understand the difference between the two as she said one is much like another and it didn’t really matter. My doctor disagrees and said that’s why we did the gene test and why I came to him as he has the most experience. He is probably right. 😂
I get zero sleep, so id take some next day tiredness. Im starting at 25MG.
Antidepressants cause PSSD
How’s it going with Luvox? Cant wait for your update
Thanks You
DANGERS OF BRIDGING Interaction between the two drugs creates risk of developing serotonin syndrome. Switching to another drug does not necessarily stop antidepressant withdrawal. The person may switch to new drug and still develop Protracted Acute Withdrawal Syndrome from rapid discontinuation of the old drug. A doctor may misdiagnose withdrawal as a mental health disorder and apply more drugs. The new drug(s) also cause(s) dependency and will need to be slow tapered. Repeatedly going on and off psych drugs can "kindle" or sensitize the nervous system making future discontinuation attempts more challenging. The best way to minimize withdrawal symptoms and reduce the risk of developing protracted withdrawal is through a slow taper with decreases no greater than 5% of the previous dose holding at least 14 days between drops. The general rule of thumb is to add up the time you have taken any antidepressant, and divide that time in half to know how long you should take to wean off while working to rebuild your ability to metabolize serotonin. If you've been on longer than 5 years, a 1.3 year taper for every 5 years on. As a conservative harm reduction approach, tapering no more than 2% to a 5% reduction every 2-4 weeks. EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT AND SOME CAN GO FASTER THAN OTHERS. Most doctor's are clueless about tapering off these drugs. 1. If a doctor tells you that antidepressants are not addictive or do not have a host of adverse effects, that is incorrect. 2. If a doctor tells you to skip days or go every other day, that is wrong. 3 If a doctor tells you to simply stop taking any antidepressant that is not only wrong but dangerous. With the exception of a diagnosis of Serotonin Syndrome you must cease with taking the antidepressant/offending drug. 4. If a doctor tells you withdrawal only lasts two weeks and isn't that bad, s/he is misinformed.
Thank you for sharing that mate, I hope you are doing well now
I will try this, the crash is horrible, I dread going back to it after being off meds for a few days.
I'm still waiting for the magic to begin, to be honest. I was on 5mg for a month and have increased to 10mg a week ago. What I have noticed is that I am able to get out of bed as soon as a wake up, and I can get on with the day, but I still feel quite sad. Not as depressed but just flat...feel like crying a lot of the time. No anxiety but then anxiety wasn't the issue with me... it was MDD. No side effects at all. I just wonder if it is going to work. None of the SSRIs helped me and I had awful side effects.
It takes 8 weeks to start
Same here.. Trying first time brintellix... Because all the other antidepressants cause serious problems in my sex life..
Can you tell me about your experience with Brentlex, which caused you erectile dysfunction?
Yep thanks for this, I tried what I read the other day and it was mind blowing to see her writhing with pleasure and ready for anything. It started when I learned to last at least 30 minutes go’ogling the latest in Greyzar Drinbo's PE Solution and now she just can't have enough
Man I can relate on the Lexapro. It was a game changer until it gave me delayed ejaculation then it took my orgasam then my erection and sex drive. It was progressive. Like you I've tried about every other antidepressant. I just started trin.
Im 2 weeks into it and feeling much better than i did on Lexapro.
Depression? Anxiety?
@@jrman413 depression here, I struggle with BiPolar and mild Autism, I've had SI most my life and on this medicine I don't jump to suicide so often.
Have you tried Mirtazapine for sleep? far less side effects than Seroq & Trazo and is used in conjunction with SSRis quite frequently.
Isn’t mirtazapine basically the same as qutiapiene though? It hits pretty much the same receptors?
@@j-uk2189 I am not sure, but what I do know is that Mirtazapine hits the Histamine receptors I think they're H2 receptors, whereas Quetiapine/Seroquel is an anti-psychotic medication Mirtazapine is not.
A dziala wogole na zaborzenia lekowe w dawce 5 mg?
What do you think about controlled MDMA therapy sessions? It seems very promising. I had taken it without therapy and still had relief from depression for a long time, kinda like a quick rest in your brain. Obviously it's not something you can take regularly but combining it with therapy like 2-3 times a year could benefit people who suffer from depression and PTSD.
How can you be on so many drugs without brain injuries?
holy crap the nausea from my sertraline is insane, I stopped taking my medicine for a while (about 3 months) don't do that seroiusly just keep taking it if you are prescribed it, trust me you do need it and if you forget dont let it go too long and think you are fine without. im taking 50mg ( I was on 100mg but im using a cutter to try and adjust to the sertraline again while i wait to see the doctor) and last night it felt like someone was cutting my head in half with a chainsaw, I was waking up basically every hour and had such a sour stomach, im on day 2 but sorta just looking at the pill and trying to decide if the suffering is worth it if you get what I mean
This drug lifted me out of a deep psychotic depression that was treatment resistant. I can read again, my house is clean, my life is becoming organized, and the delusions are gone. It's been 24 years of trying 20+ meds, and this one made me cry in relief.
Did it help anxiety?
when you say you can read again, did it help you focus? or do you mean the negative self-talk seized?
which one trintellix?
How do i ask doc ro give me ambien isuffering Quetiapine is not doing it
I need ambiam
First want to say that I appreciate your videos, a lot because I am in much the same situation. But, thought to mention that the fact is that Zimelidine (under the name Zelmid) was the first SSRI to be developed. The work on it was led by the Nobel laureate Arvid Carlsson (a Swede just like me) and the pharmaceutical company, which was then only called Astra. Due to a very rare effect on the liver and nervous system, it disappeared from the market quickly. I think it was launched in 1982. Vortioxetine by the way, I now take 15 mg for depression and generalized anxiety, and I, unlike you, respond well to them. In addition to manageable anxiety, the most important thing is that I feel clearer in my head with better concentration and memory. Before Fluoxetine, I just felt numb from it, the famous looking glass phenomenon many experience with SSRIs. Hope you find a medication that will help you in the future!
Hey.Wondering do u take any supplements alongside medications to augment them or for anxiety support?
Problem is waking up at 3 am and then awake for the rest of the day. Had about 2 months of this and I’m currently in a psychiatric unit with severe depression
This was banned in 2002
Which one, he mentions a few meds.
Hi....Did yuo get stomak pain and nousa like me ?
Heather Ashton manual
I feel like my depression has gotten worse. But it’s only been a little over 2 weeks. But the nausea and headaches aren’t fun. Anyone else experiencing this?
outrageous nausea and triggering of 'flight!' mode for full month..had to stop as the simplest things were daunting. Back on the Lexapro now ..seems the best of the lot !! God Bless.
same here-had to stop after a month and resume Lexapro .
what about psylocibin treatment?
I've taken 3 tablets (vortioxetine) and noticed that it's made my tinnitus worse. Not impressed so all ssri/n/modulators massage theirs worse or cause it? I had tinnitus years ago and just off switched off to it however i took 2 duloxetine tablets last march and they've brought my tinnitus back, very unhappy with this and it's distressing the noise and now the fear i can't take tablets without worry about making tinnitus worse or not permanent.. any ideas etc
are still taking it today?
When's it out in the UK?
NO two people have the same reaction. The symptoms can be total opposite. Plus contrary to popular belief they do not know how they work its all guessing.
