      Every town has a market. Jamaicans are too unruly and our system is too tolerant on our indiscipline. This silly behavior is a feature of all towns. It is wrong and it should be stopped. For some reason poor people think their being poor is a license to act at their own discretion. Can't build a society like that. As soon as those same people go to other countries immediately they start following the rules there.

    I am not surprised because outside of the one in Half Way Tree transport center, I have seen a few around the island that look like people would risk their lives or health to enter. Many are poorly located, maintained, or in some cases abandoned shortly after being built by the very people and vehicles they were designed to serve. In some cases due to logistic challenges the market is seen as too far from the center and the rebellious taxi drivers go back on the road and park up to facilitate the needs of their passengers. Police then do not enforce the usage as the pushback creates hours of footage for videos of confrontations daily and accusations of harassing taxi men.

      @@drivinginjamaicathat is what one would call the million dollar question. It is not like someone did not use tax payer dollars to build it and got paid. Do not be even surprised if someone is not still being paid well to maintain it. Go to the one in Hopewell, Hanover and it is abandoned. Go to the one in Lucea, Hanover and although in use it looks a right mess. People need to hold municipal councils to better standards. Small wonder public transportation is a dirty word in Jamaica and seen as something poor Jamaicans or curious tourist use.

    Have you ever looked at the high watermark sign above the level of the trees at the bridge approach and also the distance from the bridge of the Bog Walk Gorge that is impassable during routine flooding. It is not just about the small bridge section that is the logistic problem. There is also the length and cost factor of such a bridge which could only be done as an expensive toll bridge to recover the cost and provide maintenance. This bridge would have to be so long and high, that the current longest and highest bridge in Jamaica now being built on the Montego Bay highway would lose its title immediately. Yes, it would help many to avoid a dangerous and often deadly situation but are motorists willing to pay the costs and price attached to such a project. Many now avoid the new toll highway due to toll costs and would be faced with their alternative route now costing possibly more to cross one new bridge.

  • @GaryTallawahWoode
    @GaryTallawahWoode Před dnem

    Keep posting maybe someone is listening to you. This full interchange should have been done from day one considering two major highways meet at this intersection. Better late than never, and so many years it took for the reality to sink in. See if you can focus on an exit where the A1 highway is very close and adjacent to the North-South Highway 2000 just south of the Bog Walk Linstead Bypass. Although there is an exit at Linstead, an exit there would help a lot when Flat Bridge and the Bog Walk Gorge are impassable due to weather or an accident on Flat Bridge. The majority of motorists could get on and off Highway 2000 between Angels and that new exit easily, bypassing all the drama that such regular situations bring.
