Welcome to Country Boy Gas Garage! My name is Jason and i am just an average guy that has always had a love and passion for classic vehicles. I am married to my amazing wife Peggy and we have three wonderful children. We live in a 30ft Pacific Yurt that we built up in the forest outside our small town of Fall Creek, Oregon. My love for old cars and trucks started as a child and i was only 16 when i bought my first muscle car. 1991 at 16 years old i bought my 1970 Chevy Nova and built it up. 30 years later and I'm still driving that car. I also have a traditional style Rat Rod pickup i built with my great friend Kelly at Spider Hole Customs, a 1959 Chevy El Camino field find project and the Abandoned 1948 Ford F5 Church Bus that we a currently rescuing from the forest. this is the main focus on the channel now. 1948 Ford Bus Revive and Drive!

Hey Jason!!! I love what you got going on with the El Camino!!! I just got caught up on all of the videos. I've been a sub to your channel since I ran across you rescuing the bus out of the woods. I don't remember seeing any new videos on your channel for awhile then I lost track of you until one finally pop up for me. I'm also a sub to TheTravisBee channel. Him and his Dad are all over these El Caminos. Looking forward to seeing how you continue to progress and can't wait to see that thing moving on it's own power soon!!! Thanks for the content. Very entertaining!!!!!
Fantastic! And so wonderful to see bright joyful colors during a decade when everything has been painted sad gray.
Nice!
✌️
Man!!!! Are you kidding!!! You almost lost a nipple. How do you explain that to the grand kids? Glad you survived.
Lol.....Hey Thanks!
Jason, feel like doing a concrete driveway ? 🤭 A guy is offering a 59 Impala to anyone who will do his driveway. Look it up. Kind of a big drive for a car without a drivetrain.
I know that road! I have done the exact same thing on it 😂😂😂😂
Yikes! Next time I use any power tool I will pay more attention! Glad you are all Good!! I like your 59 El Camino and following along
Hey Thanks!
Dont they call them angle grinders "the death wheel"😮
I've had a few days like that too man... Glad you're here to tell us about it!! Have fun at rhe family get together!!
Thank Man! It was a good safety reminder...lol
Just found you!! I am hooked…Being a Girl with a vintage Truck!!!
Awesome! Hey, Thanks!
Shit my pants 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
I was lay.n under a 49 ford truck cutting running board bolts off and grider kicked back and got twisted up it my tee shirt and it stalled grider it was just a humming away i still had hold of button when i realized it i let go and un pluged it and untwisted it out of my shirt i was try.n to keep it out of my face
I'm very glad you are okay, I think your beard actually saved you from major harm. Good reason to grow such a beard! Stay safe!
Thank You!
You are very lucky. I've done similar stupid things. Was running an angle grinder with the lock-on engaged trimming nails off in a hot steamy attic. The grinder slipped out of my sweaty hand and fell into my lap. Luckily I was wearing baggy Dickie pants and the grinder stalled when it wrapped itself in the fabric beside my upper thigh. Another blessing was the cord was actually in my lap and I somehow thought to unplug the grinder. Ruined pair of pants and a scratch on my inner thigh was the only damage. I climbed down our of the attic, unwound the grinder out of my pants and told the boss I wasn't feeling well and needed to take a break. He never asked me what happened until days later. I've never used the on-lock on a power tool since that incident. I always leave the guard on, have 2 hands firmly on the tool and am super diligent about checking my surroundings to make sure I never put myself in a situation where I could lose control of the tool. People have accused me of being slow when I work, I just tell them it's called being cautious and wanting to keep working and enjoy it. Nice work on cleaning up the front end and the paint looks great. Look forward to seeing that front end come back together. Be safe and stay well.
Dang! That could of be real bad!
Jay Bird getting it done hell yeah
Thanks!
Man after that close call I thank you might won’t to look into getting a grinder that had got a squeeze finger trigger other than just a on and off switch, just something I know I would do. Enjoy watching the progress keep up the good work Jason….and stay safe brother!!!!!
I totally need one like that!
Yes sir you do!! I think they run about 60 bucks for a Dewalt, well worth it!!
Man jason I was like cringing, I almost didn't want to see what the outcome was, I thought for sure it was to the juggler, holee crap brother yes that could have been way worse, thank goodness it wasn't take care and be safe Aloha
@ratgasgarage Hey Thanks RGG! I was definitely lucky. I will be a bit more safe now...lol ✌🏻 Aloha!
Ouch
HAHAHAHA....THAT was what all the clickbait was about? Ya know...they come WITH a handle, and there are THREE places to screw it in....
To be fair, in the full video Jason points out all the safety measures he could and should have taken. And that he hopefully will take in the future.
@@zzydny "to be fair"...it was a clickbait title. I hadn't yet had time to watch the video when the short popped up...now I'm not going to. Eff a bunch of clickbait...I'm refusing to support that bullshit. The title should have been "watch this video, I'm stupid and unsafe"...not "I almost died". Idc what The Algorithm likes....
@@danielkingery2894 Your loss.
@@zzydny its actually societal loss. I couldn't give a shit less...I dont mind a catchy title if its realistic....but no one is better off by using that title.
Omg that was scary and could have been so bad
I had an angle grinder almost cut my jugular open
As a bearded man i feel that in my soul 😅
Doing a excellent job, ya gotta watch those wier wheels 😮 glad you got control of it, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Hey Thanks Donald!
um, the strap ground is common, you want to use one, or two... your sensors like temp are a single wire, if the engine does not have a perfect ground the temp sensor cannot function 100%, single wire coil? you want good spark? IO would think so, how many wires does your spark plugs have going to them? a single right? welp the plug ground is grounded to the engine right? if the engine isn't grounded well it has poor spark and an over working coil . . plug must be grounded to work, engine needs a ground even if you use solid motor mounts a few ground straps insure you have a great grounded engine
Did you even hear what I was saying...lol
I'm happy you are ok man that must have hurt really bad man 😮❤
@kendallcox5202 Thank You!
So glad you weren’t seriously injured. 🙏
@@Steve-yw1nt Thank you
Luck guy. Had a similar thing happen to me but on my belly. I was wearing a leather apron my brother had got me, the thick leather saved me from getting cut super deep. I managed to get a cut, but it would have been way worse without that apron. Be safe, man.
@surplusmarty2986 oh Jeez! Hey Thanks!
Had a grinder do that and crawled up my arm leaving a scar I felt the pain on that one bro!😊
@@michaeliverson1617 oh Man!
Well you got lucky with the wire wheel, could have been worse. Lucky it wasn't a cut off wheel. It usually has a cut off wheel when it happens to me. Run out and buy a lottery ticket and see if you are still on a lucky streak. LOL
@@RustyIronProjectsRIP definitely lucky!
Dang son! To all those beard haters out there, can you imagine this incident without it? Glad you escaped any major injuries!
Hey Thanks Jason! Good thing I had on my safety beard...lol!
Man buy a better grinder one with a paddle switch
Totally!
That was scary to watch man! Glad you are ok. Front end came out great!
Hey Thanks! I needed a safety reminder....lol!
Bloody hell! Stay safe mate, I want to see you finish this! Once again, great video, you’re the best… better than all the rest!
Thanks, will do!
Thanks a lot for posting this video which is exactly what I 'd like to do. Which foam board product did you go with? And I like your hardware store, seems a lot nicer then Lowes or Home Depot in terms of customer service and selection, in my eyes anyways.
My guess would be that mystery bracket was a voltage regulator mount. Help knock down the vibration
Hmmm.... 🤔 💭
You need to have a safety meeting with yourself!!!!!
For sure!
Very lucky man good to you weren't seriously hurt .
You guys and those grizzly Adam's beards just asking for trouble. No thanks on that it definitely could have been worse.
I'm counting my blessings at this point
@CountryBoyGasGarage oh for sure. Be safe. I have a triple black 59 elco too btw cool cars
Good progress on the frame Jason, looking fantastic, glad your ok, catch you on the next one😁😁
Hey Thanks Mike! ✌🏻
Yep, you were unlucky and also lucky at the same time. Yes you were so correct it could have turned out way worse than it did. Be safe moving forward with the build. Cheers Stew.
Hey Thanks Stew!
Your beard saved you there man!
I think so!
At least it wasn't the death wheel. Your neck would of been severed. Be safe.
Truth! Hey Thanks!
New subscriber from Ohio, ❤your videos. Keep em coming.
Thank You! I really appreciate that!
A friend of mine was using a 9" angle grinder when the grinding disc shattered. It took out his overalls, his jeans but left his underpants intact. The family jewels were thankfully not damaged!
Oh Dang!
I can not even amagine why people want this dirty hair hanging off their face. I guess if you see enough of these guy and after watching how they are always playing with their beard it becomes obvious , its a toy for them to play with.
😆 🤣 😂
Dude that was a close shave hey. Take care
Thanks!
and on the hand you can get to cocky some time and that will jump up and bite you on the ass too
Totally!
scary when that happens. We used the big one at work ,they would do some se9ius damage. Glad it wasn't worse for you. The frame looks great. As always I liked and shared. ll my very best.
Thank You!
have dun that before some thing to help is put a handle on the grinder it will help to stop that . when it happen to me it ate my shirt and gut broke a rib or two and left we with 68 stichis
Oh Dang! That's crazy! Glad your ok now. I'm gonna be more safe now
