What's great about this channel is you don't give up on one project and move to another.
Do yourself a favor and get a timing set since you're already in there. And chase all the threads before putting it back together..Great video. Keep them coming.
I wish that it had gone easily with no problems, but that never seems to happen. You have my sympathies. I hope you can get that piece out without taking everything apart.

I was cringing when you were just carelessly playing with the water pump on that fender. Ouch! Fender covers work wonders to help preserve paint. Enjoying the build though.
Hey Jason! You are a patient man! You pretty much have to be when wrenching on this old iron. There is always something that goes wrong, it seems. You'll get it licked, though. Thanks for your perseverance and dedication to bringing the old Ford bus back to road worthiness. I enjoy watching you work on your projects!

Jason,You may have already thought of this but I will post it anyhoo. Eliminate the factory exhaust crossover set up for better cooling and breathing for that Y block. A set of headders and Smithys mufflers would have it sounding sweet.
She,s old, and needs some TLC, but she,s a real beauty...

I'm an old lady and not a mechanic so forgive me if this is silly but I kept thinking that it would help if you had some sort of non-slip mat on your workbench--even an old bathmat if nothing else was available--just anything with a somewhat grippy surface to help stop that water pump from sliding around.

Next time you come across a situation like that try a trick that my grandpappy showed me you heat it up almost cherry red then quench it. Try to separate, if it don't come apart, reheat again then quench it. May take several times but you'll come out the winner every time.👍

Where do you get a rebuild kit? What motor is this and that must be an updated radiator?
Rebuild kit from Dennis Carpenter and its a 1957 292/312 Y-block. Yes a new aluminum radiator from Speedway.
It's cheaper jus to get a new water pump ..ur time ..and perdiam ..already cost more than a pump the on top having to modify the dang thing 😮
You can't get a new water pump for a 1957 Ford HD Truck Y-block. Only recently the rebuild kit has been available.
Plus the rebuild kit was only $15 bucks

why didnt you just buy a new one?
They are not really available. You can get one for a car but the HD Truck Y-block waterpump isn't available easily
Fighting all that time when u could of just bought a new assembly and after all that l0l still had to take it all apart lol
Nope, HD Truck Y-block water pumps are not available. Must have it rebuild or spend alot to buy a rebuilt one.
