The cruise kinda reminds me of a funny story: I live just outside a small Mississippi town. Well, one morning I drove off in my ridiculously dirty neglected old PT Cruiser to go to the grocery store. There were crowds of people along the road, and they were waving and honking at my yellow PT. People were loving it, and I was completely confused.....until I realized that I had driven right into a cruise line. 😆 My messy junker in the middle of the fancy cars. I had no idea. Oh my goodness.

this is what it's all about, making memories and having fun.alot of people think their vehicle has to be perfect to enjoy it. Looks like you had a great time. Continue to enjoy it while you fix it. Hi Jason, I have had a water pump failure on my 1991 Ford Crown Victoria LX wagon when towing my 18'-0" Starcraft boat. It gave no advance warning of failure such as noise, it just started to leak. Even though I was one and one-half hours from home I made it back after only three stops to fill up coolant. Those Ford 302 V8's are easy to get parts for and have had the same thing happen to my 1987 Crown Vic wagon as well. Glad you and your family had a great bus trip and hope you are repaired in time for the next car show. Take care and good luck on the repairs.

love it I finally took my wife's 64 Corvair to a cruise last night 1 st time since covid had a nice time
When I was a kid, my folks had a Corvair (think it was a 62--was definitely a two door coupe). I vividly remember riding in the hot (so close to the engine!) uncomfortable back seat of that car across the US three times. No electronics back then. I had to be clever enough to entertain myself. It would surprise kids today to know that I survived, and I kinda had fun.
Heck yeah that's was a good show, a lot of beautiful car's for sure. Yep the oh Bus wasn't going to go down it was determined to get home. Cool deal Bud 👍✌️

Id LOVE a show like that. Had an American carshow near me this weekend and had my own show on the way home from work. Notable spots include an amazing Fastback Mustang, 60s T-bird, 70s Cadillac Eldorado and the real interesting one was a Charger Daytona. Other carriageway had a variety of beautiful looking pick-ups and such. My little Chrysler crossfire Roadster was a real poor relative in that company!

I like that the Camaro dragster was hauled by an equally vintage ramp truck. I wish you had filmed the vintage car hauler a bit more. I especially like classic car fans who use classic tools, especially a classic car hauler, or other classic work truck still working.

I guess you could say the bus had one too many drinks at the bar.
Now, I understand why a lot of older cars and trucks swap out the pump mounted fan for an electric fan.

Luckily you have the electric cooling fan. If you had the old mechanical fan you probably would have been stuck. The bus looked great in the car show

I have experimented with a small amount of graphite powder in the coolant to help lubricate the water pump, which at least has done no harm so far. I have also tried a teaspoon of oil or power steering fluid knowing this might confuse diagnostics, falsely indicating internal leaks, but leaking oil would be sooty and leaking trans fluid would be red, so if this teaspoon is neither sooty nor red, it shouldn't hurt and hasn't so far. Auto parts stores seem to no longer stock water pump lube, but Ebay still has it.
Since you have an aluminum radiator, I hear high grade VW brand antifreeze is quite good at lubricating water pumps at some cost. but can't mix it with green antifreeze for copper radiators.
Well that sucks that the water pump went out. Hope you can find a new that will fit.
Probably rebuild the one I have...hopefully

Hello!! The problem with your water pump is that the flange on which the belt pulley is attached was not centered, and as a result the pulley got a strong runout when rotating, thereby breaking the bearings and deteriorating the oil seal. You just had to order a new flange from a turner to fit the water pump shaft. It would be cheaper than buying a new set again now. I'm sure your friends at hooligans have a lathe and can make a new flange.

Looks like all your work on the fuel tank paid off. I didn't see or hear any problems connected to fuel delivery.
It's working good! I did swap the first fuel filter with minimal rust in it.

I drove my van for four years with a leaking weep hole.. When I finally got it replaced..the shop said that was the most wornout waterpump they had ever seen.. I just kept jugs of water with me..
