Looking good. To install the rear springs, disconnect the shock, push the suspension down, set the spring in, jack the axle housing up until the shock bolts back up.

Jason, I'd like to see the El Camino transformed into a street rod. The idea of restoring it to stock is my second choice. Your El Camino would look so cool with the old "muscle car" vibe! Whatever you decide to do will be great! Thanks for showing us how it's done!

These channels are my favorite kinds, the smaller ones such as yours, Pugliese speed shop, Garth’s graveyard garage etc, working with minimal equipment and funds. The bigger ones are fine but it’s easy when you have everything and lots of funds. Like to see you grow into a great channel. Glad you’re back.

Enjoyed the video and subscribed to Trad RodnCustom, already subscribed to the other channels. You asked what we would do with the ElCamino, I’d make it roadworthy and dependable and enjoy it. Drive it, haul stuff in it, and meet up with friends in it. Been driving old cars for 45 years and really enjoy the ones that you can take anywhere and not worry about rain, scratching them, or anything else for that matter. Use and enjoy the car. 🤠

Well Jason, If I were the one driving the ElCo, it would have a tail up stance. Not too high but some. My neck of the woods would be hard on a low riding car, and a low riding car would be hard on my knees! In the end it's your car, scour the net and see if there's one that looks just right to you.

The 59 and 60 El Camino are one of my favorites. In 63 I bought a beautiful black 60 three speed car with a built 283 including a rare Corvette high rise intake with an AFB and an aluminum flywheel. Of course, in 63 completely rust free.

Later in its life it got an aluminum T10 close ratio 4 speed and a new built engine with a Duntov 30 30 cam.
Loved that car, but I was eventually seduced by a 65 Impala SS 4 speed car.

Well, IF that El Camino were my car, and I could afford to do so, I'd separate the body from the frame, take it somewhere to have it dipped, then have all the body work done on it. After that I'd spray it all down with a thick coat of primer . After that I'd do the same to the frame. I'd put a thick coat of underbody on both the frame and the bottom of the body. Then I'd start working on putting it all back together.

love the bus. modified stock is my thing. keep it simple.
there is a lot of rot in that car body to contend with.
A car like that, I cut the floor out of the bed, replace the cross over supports,
basic tubing, check the back of the cab under behind the seat to see if it is rusted out.
then weld the bed floor back in, or go with wood runners. it's your call.
Your not going to sink 50 thousand into it for a complete body fame / paint job interior included overhaul,
get it dressed up, add some ponies to the engine. so it burns rubber, sell it.
In the old days, there was plenty of these cars around. not today. wrecking yards are
being bought up for the land, and all that stuff is going to the
crusher. Road kill pretty much has the right idea, although they been known to destroy
what they got up and running. I loved the white 69 Barracuda they found and got up and running, raced it and after,
they sold it. haven't seen it sense.
    it's your show.
The Lord Bless you and yours.
