years ago I had a 55 chevy, I put in a 396 375, I used the hurts conversions mounting plate.
worked great, the 55 had a 283 in it, with studs for the side mounts, I went for the best we had back then.

Hi Jason, You made the right decision to remove the body panels. Not only does it give you more working room to rebuild the suspension but it also allows you to do your sheet metal work on the body panels, core support and headlight buckets on a work bench or saw horses. You have already came a long way with this 1959 so keep the faith and you will prevail.

Thanks for the video. I love seeing that you're bringing these to us more frequently now. I really appreciate that! These bolts in the fender-they might be removed with a saber saw. I love using this tool, especially for rusted bolts. You can cut right through them between the metal sheets.

So, I became a fan of the channel back when you were putting the bus together. You should know that the camino is a huge undertaking,. But cheer up we are all here to laugh at ourselves, and dream along with you. Most of us at one time or another have had to come to terms with our different limitations, that hasn't really changed. The bolts you don’t get out, you ought to spray something on them till you get back to working on it. Maybe like Blaster. They’ll soak till you’re ready next time. Good work. Grew up outside of Cleveland, OH. Massive salt on the roads all winter. Everything rusts. You’re doing good. Tough job 👍

A 65 year old car is bound to have some rust issues, but one sitting in water as long as this one has will undoubtedly have a lot of it. But there are lots of parts out there and hopefully yo can find some. But this is also an opportunity to improve your welding skills. Maybe find a sponsor or two. As you say stay positive and take on one thing at a time. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

Heat-up those bolts w/mapp gas torch, use 6 point socket, or box wrench. You will be surpised, at how many will respond. Still have to cut some, but try to save what you can. Take your time,,,,,DUBS

Nah dude, you got this. Those cars were rather simple construction compared to later cars. Parts might be an issue, but sheet metal is sheet metal. Nothing a little bit of patience and a hammer, welder, and grinder can't fix.

I have had luck drilling the bolt heads off.
You need to fix the chassis Take the body and the bed off of it and FIX it Get rid of the rust ,weld it,patch it,replace the crossmembers that are too far gone You are a father I assume that you will be taking some of your children with you when you drive the car MAKE the car SAFE!!
