    Looks like you're doing a great job, Jason! The garage/workshop will be a huge game-changer for your channel, I believe. I know that it is a big challenge to do all this on a limited budget, but you are getting there little by little. Thanks for keeping us "in the loop" in terms of your plans and accomplishments!

    What do you think of the alternative of using unvented heat in the winter, with plenty of ventilation, and using the same ventilation, perhaps removing a side panel for both light and air, to keep cool in summer? The idea being that instead of going to the expense of tightly sealing the structure, just use the cheap gaps as your chimney? in addition to long johns. Also allowing you to run and tune cars inside.
    I often park cars half way in and work on that half when it rains, which also leaves room for junk and tools.

    Thank you!!!
    I have been waiting since Deceber for this Jason!
    Looking at the 1st couple of minutes of this video as you show up into the rafter area, you can separate that center spans and get some more steel beams for up there or studs and why didn't that, which wouldn't cost very much and a little bit of steel and reuse that cap. Also too once you get your insulation in there, get yourself some roll this Queen or clear painter's tarp and attach it to the interior of that ! It will serve as a vapor barrier and will hold heat even better with your rigid insulation on the walls.
    Now hearing you say a lean-to, you'll spend less widening this structure, and it will all be closed in.

    Good work. The local Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity Restore stores are selling some eco friendly LED lighting solutions. One of the things they have are LED replacements for long tube florescent lighting fixtures. For $1.98 you get two LED tubes that are super bright and weigh practically nothing. Two of them make my 30' x 30' square basement work area daylight bright, though I will probably add a couple more, just because it is such a big space.
    Could not tell if there are gutters on the sides of the building, but if not, might want to consider adding some...
    Looking forward to your next video!

    This rigid phone is very much similar to like drywall! You can cut it with the utility knife and break it on the back side and then cut it through the scene that is still attached to the exterior coating such as the foil side or the interior side works really good and makes no mess whatsoever.

    An old saying... "If it was easy, then everyone would do it." So you finally got some motivation plus a need will do it every time. Not kicking you, I wear those same shoes of "I'll get to it soon" and then another day passes with only a BS line making me look even worse cause I mentioned it to someone. I did something though that did help me... I got a few people that I did trust... that is a dang small number let me say. I did all of their repairs for just prices of parts, no labor charges plus future repairs in trade for some weekend work from them when I had all of the "stars aligned" so meaning knowing when all would be able to help me would all be there... I got a fair surprise as a few folks showed up for to help and I ordered pizza for everyone during the break for lunch. I had built a old sawmill out of pieces and parts so the trees in my yard turned into stuff I could use for just anything needed to set up a small space to work under. My one huge surprise was the local as in five miles out donated their cement for a floor! They had heard of me doing just what I was going to do and so their men came out with a tractor and scrapped off the area, dug down the footings, and later that day even, poured me a damn nice floor six inches thick. I did my part with a post hole digger and set some small trees to yet be trimmed and they even poured around them so they stood straight up. Two weeks later everyone was there and I started up with a building. A thirty by forty building.... oddly some guys even brought stuff they didn't need and that got folks in competition to outdo each other/LOL. I had been trimming up all those posts so those were almost done and then my grand daughter brought all of her boyfriends over to help.... quite the bevy of boys who she dated plus a few hopefuls. Quite attractive and she was in Steven Seagal's movie.. don't remember the name of it but about the corruption of oil and the far north where oil was being removed. I wish to say that mr. Seagal is not a nice person.... not at all if ya get my drift... I digress.... We put the building up in one weekend basically and the rest was easier to finish

    I heard from a guy in Portland, which is big and crowded, that they welcome low budget RV dwellers in Eugene, is that right? I'm in Baptist North Carolina and starting to shop for RV's and school buses to drive all my junk to secular Eugene, but I hear secular places like Eugene are getting crowded because they legalized pot so all the potheads go there and raise the rents. I might too but can't do pot because whenever I do, I can't find my tools and brake parts and stuff, and as you know, brakes are more important than pot, especially for RV dwellers.

  • @alan6832
    @alan6832 Před rokem +1

    Speaking of practical mechanics, I noticed a blue Dodge pickup in the background that has never been featured, but you used it to get the insulation. Could either the school bus or the K30 have gotten the insulation? Do you do your own work on the blue Dodge? Why do you, and other CZcams mechanics, not make more use of the vehicles that they feature and/or feature the vehicles that they use? and which vehicles are most economical to use? counting depreciation and capital costs such as auto loan interest as well as gasoline? Auto loan interest being a major reason to fix up old cars and trucks, though this is less true of true museum pieces, my interest in old trucks is strongly related to my dislike of auto loans.

    May I ask why you personally chose to r board insulate the walls/ roof? And why did you choose to metal the walls instead of framing 2x4 studded walls with bat or foam insulation then drywall? Only asking because I’m kind of doing the same thing myself but I’m just at a shell of a shed at this point just wanting a different site or perspective if you don’t mind my man. God bless! One problem with raising money online is that it risks making your mechanics less practical, where I would be more interested in how much you can get for these classic vehicles when you are done, or how much you can make fixing classics for others, and if your income is coming from CZcams, then I never learn the financial and practical side of the mechanics, plus you get too much into toys and not enough into stuff like fixing the homes of all the Eugene RV dwellers like maybe me next year, and though many RV's are classic, few are really antique, so the practical classics are more '70's and 80's vintage than 40's and 50's.
