Fresh
Is this an issue and needed if only running in fresh water?
It's an issue for almost everyone I talk to...fresh or salt
Look at 1:34 is that a shark right in there
Maybe his shadow
lol I think it's just a shadow but you never know
I’m not able to dial mode out of launch mode without turning of engine and key. And restart, is that normal?
No, not normal. Are you selecting single launch mode?
Imagine if Kawasaki removed that second water box put the intercooler over there in its place to balance it out, put a normal size catch can even a plastic one, and in the current catch can/ intercooler area put a centrifugal style supercharger even a belt driven one. It would cut the weight way down and just simply changing the supercharger would probably free up 15 hp. Imagine how much horsepower twisting that current supercharger up takes. They wouldn’t really have to change anything else maybe go to a coil unplug ignition system.
Looks above 40mph
First date over!
Maybe I’m blind but I cannot locate the OBD2 port on my 2015 Kawasaki ultra 310. I got an Actron P9135 code reader which is supposedly compatible but I can’t find where to plug it in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
There isn't a standard OBD2 port, it's the 4 pin square translucent connector with a cap by the battery. You need a Kawasaki diagnostic port to OBD cable
@@JDsWaterWorld perfect thank you!
Great review JD! I love my Jettribe riding gear!
Luckily for you, in your case it’s winter fun as well. 😂👍
Haha oh yea
This would be a factory recall? When was this recall published? I have not seemed ro have gotten any further recalls since the limp mode scenario. Thanks
It's a "factory directed modification" technically so a bit lower priority than a recall- and there was also a wire harness recall (voluntary) for all 2022 and many 2023 models..if you call kawasaki and give them your VIN they can run it for you. But as far as I know, there have been a total of 3 recalls/ modifications for 2022-2023 models which would be 1) knock sensor software error 2) wire harness 3) water instrusion
@@JDsWaterWorld I ran the Vin on a website after I posted comment. The wiring replacement and water intrusion are listed for me. I'll be scheduling an appointment. Thanks for the reply
Most people who own the 310 want to know why at full throttle you lose 2-3 pounds of boost but the rpm stay the same but if you hold throttle down maybe 90% it do it
If you have the stock tune, once you reach full speed and RPM, the tune will govern the system downwards, resulting in a loss of speed, RPM and boost
@@JDsWaterWorld yea it’s weird because on my 2023 310x I will hit 68 easily and I can hold it there it won’t budge if I squeeze throttle maybe 90% but once I pull all the way thru with the throttle 100% the boost drops but the RPM don’t
The only thing that would explain a loss of boost with constant rpm would be that 1) there is a leak or 2) the BOV is bleeding off boost prematurely 3) tensioner is allowing some belt slip due to bushing binding or water getting on belt
When is the test video with the results and comparisons coming? I keep checking for it.
I am making sure to complete multiple phases of testing in different water types, I should have everything edited and ready to post by the end of next week
Thank you for this sharr JD. We would have never known to check for these changes. We trusted that the dealership would have made the adjustments when they assembled the jetski last month. But they suck.
Well glad it was helpful! The dealerships need to step up their game and Kawasaki needs to step up their dealer education!
Call lifelite, it ain't climbing back on
Thank you. I'm betting you have a video how to change oil and filters. Lol
Yes here you go: OIL & FILTER CHANGE DIY TUTORIAL - Kawasaki Ultra 310 Series Jet Ski czcams.com/video/4-htT6CRy5I/video.html
How critical is leveling the engine? My ski lives on my boat dock and I have no trailer. The EZ Dock is not completely level. I'm assuming leveling is important to measure oil level once filled, but is it also critical to ensuring the new oil gets to all the engine parts it needs to? Do you have any advice for my situation?
The biggest reason for leveling is to ensure you are not overfilling or under filling the engine. The ski needs to be perfectly level for the dipstick reading to be accurate. You will probably have to change your oil, and then pull up to a dock or something to check the oil level while the ski is leveled in the water.
@@JDsWaterWorld Sounds reasonable, thank you.
Hey I now a girl that fell of the back of jet ski and got messed up real bad
Terrible...I would never let my wife or daughters on a PWC without proper safety gear.
I bought all my gear from jet tribe. Thanks to all your product reviews.
Awesome! How do you like everything you purchased? I have been very happy with the quality of their stuff so far.
@@JDsWaterWorld its amazing. I have the life jacket, shoes, gloves, shorts and goggles. The fit is amazing and styles are spot on!!
It said .... um nope not this time.
I only wear sunglasses, life vest, raven fightwear mma shorts. No shoes and no gloves.
The conditions I ride in, my feet and hands would be burned from the sun and raw from the ski without gloves or shoes
They have the best looking vest!
Great video. I will have to get the shoes, shorts and gloves. Does the black vest get hot because of being black? I like the side entry of vest, but hoping they might have something a little more colorful or even close to the lx-s green :-)
Thanks man! The vest does not get any hotter because of the color, they do have a bunch of other side entry vests in various colors- I have been wearing this particular Blackout vest for over a year now and it has held up really well for me.
@@JDsWaterWorld- cool. I will get your product code and start ordering stuff. Thank you sir.
Remove the spark plugs, then spin the shaft backwards.
The last girl to get on knew what she was doing. The driver kept trying to hold onto the boat and caused the out of balance condition. When in doubt, give it gas!
My Ouachita River is wider. 🙃
How the hell do you wear a helmet and not get your head ripped off the wind? I tried a helmet on my Ultra 150 and didn’t last for more than 2 minutes 🧐
Probably you are wearing the wrong helmet- it actually doubles my endurance in the chop because it keeps water out of your face and eyes and insulates you from the sun.
Were you able to use the same throttle cable? After switching CDCV to CDKII seems like the cable is a bit long. Thanks
You need to tighten the adjustment nuts on the cable support bracket all the way and might need to bend the bracket slightly away from the carbs to pick up the .5 on of slack. You can make it work with some adjusting OR order the throttle cable for a 1997 model OR purchase a generic adjustable throttle trigger from Riva or Unlimited
@@JDsWaterWorld Thanks for confirming! The other thing for people to note is that after switching from CDCV to CDKII is the airbox will no longer align to the SS bracket on the head (CDKII apparently slightly shorter). Minor point but wanted to share
Good point, yes, I removed this bracket
Did the new ride plate improve the jetski performance?
Yes, does an incredible job of getting the bow up and out of the water. Contributes to a drier ride in the chop and faster top speed
Get that air!
Love it 😍
Красава 😊
I’ve seen a jet boat blow up from fuel vapors the stomp grate (Maybe 100 lbs) got lodged into the 20’ ceiling of the shop. Some Dumb ass cut the fuel line on purpose and the welder didn’t know. He’s not well to this day. Hurt his brain
Great video JD.. hey the ks1 ride plate is such a big difference in performance compared whit the ks3? and what is better the ride plate or the intake grate, Which one you'll feel better performance.i'm want both, but little by little.. WHICH ONE I SHOULD BUY FIRST??too spencive for me to get both at the same time 😊
Well for the 2022+ Ultra 160 and 310 the KS3 plate is your only option at the moment- and it combines the best aspects of Kspeed's previous models. I noticed the most immediate change in handling and performance from the Ride plate. The intake grate doesn't necessarily improve speed- it does however help keep the pump loaded better in the chop. If I had to chose one, it would be the KS3 Ride plate- it's incredible and provides a very noticeable improvement to the ski's ride
You the best.. thanks for the info
I never go in saltwater (now) (I’m too old!). I do however go in a lake that has water that is alkaline. Will this have a similar effect on these (swapped out) components? In addition, will these swapped components effect the ski in normal lake usage. Note: the saltwater where I’m from is not like in Southern California or Florida. It is cold. And as I said, I am old! 😂😂😂
Haha isn't age just a state of mind?? You should be fine with any type of freshwater, the salt is what really attacks the coatings and the aluminum!
@@JDsWaterWorld Awesome! Thanks. Age is a state of mind. But, the body falling apart from that state of mind is a whole other story! 😂
@@JDsWaterWorld Also, “Unlimited “ I can’t find them. Also looking for those four videos on the upgrades. I hope to find them today so I can watch them tonight.
funny how everyone want a free diagnosis on how-to vids like this but will never cough up the dough for a mechanic or spend the time required to learn how to fix it themselves
Lol
