  • I think the ‪@kawiperformance‬ Saltwater Series Tensioner Assembly is one of the best aftermarket mods available today for Kawasaki Ultra 300 and Ultra 310 Jet Skis! This component reduces maintenance down-time and improves reliability of the supercharger drive-line. This product is designed and made in the USA and uses only the best quality stainless hardware - the durability of this tensioner assembly is second to none!
    I wanted to give my viewers an update and candid look at how this component has held up over 100 hours of use in salt water. Note that the assembly has never been cleaned, lubed, or even touched at all prior to the filming of this video. *I did replace the Stainless bearing in the idler pulley as a preventative measure at the advice of KP, although the bearing I removed had no apparent issue and did not fail.
    Spoiler- the tensioner and associated components held up incredibly, and continue to function as intended without issue! There is not a spot of rust on any of the hardware or the stainless steel idler pulley!

    This is a great package for the saltwater environment. Installed mine last summer, only have 25 hrs on it since but highly recommend. My my stock tensioner was a hunk of rust and I took good care of my ski really surprised it didn't completely fail. Well worth the money.

    Obviously this kit is pricey, however you get what you pay for. This is a perfect example 🤙🤙

      Exactly- you are not just paying for a brand or gimmick- you are paying for a quality piece of hardware that pays for itself in reduced maintenance and labor costs!

    I love it I installed all the bolts exhaust bypass and the tensioner pulley. I ride in Oceanside California and don’t need the problems of all of those things that I replaced because of you. I ordered these parts from Kawi performance.

      Thanks for the comment! Hell yeah! All those parts have made my life so much easier and my machine more durable so I’m sure you’ll also continue to be as impressed with the quality of the KP parts and hardware as I am! I can’t say this for every company, but when it comes to KP I have never had a component fail (or even rust for that matter)!

    Seeing this video title gave me a bit of a scare, as I ended my 2023 season installing this entire KP saltwater package on my '22 310LX and then had to have her wrapped for the season due to having surgery. I'm glad they passed and exceeded expectations bc I couldn't imagine having to uninstall all of it again lol. Thanks for the update and videos, keep them coming!

      Yeah I am always talking about how great this thing is so figured I’d show how it’s held up! Not every part I try out is as durable or well made as this..I’m never out to bash companies but if it doesn’t hold up, I just toss it in the trash!

    I just got my kawiperformance tensioner setup the other week, I pulled out my stock tensioner setup out of my ski with 15 hours on it and I can't move the bushings at all by hand. The KP bushings are like melted butter, while I was at it I also got their stage 3 sc pulley setup to run with the riva stage 3 tune.

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Awesome, yeah the stock one comes dry from the factory believe it or not- have no clue what they are thinking! The KP part is designed very well and I’m confident it will last the life of my machine. That’s awesome on the pulley- let me know how that all works out with Stage 3

      @JDsWaterWorld I definitely will, last month I ordered the ride plate, water intake grate, fuel rail, and the panel filter that goes in front of the rider from kspeed and I'm just waiting on them to ship it all out. I have a fuel lab fpr, radium engineering fuel pulse damper and some 6an hose and fittings to do a return fuel setup. I'm really excited for the water to thaw out up here and warmer.

      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Damn yours gonna be balls to the wall on that thing. You gonna do forged pistons? I’m curious about the new Kspeed ride plate, they are claiming some pretty decent increases, I am hoping to get my hands on one this year to test it out

    • @sparticussupremo
      @sparticussupremo Před 5 měsíci +1

      As of right I'm not going to do any forged internals since I will just be running rivas stage 3 tune for the 101mm SC pulley. Riva just released their ride plate last week that looks Hella aggressive and they start shipping at the end of April. I ordered my ride plate from kspeed the day it was back on their site in January. With everything I'm doing I'm hoping for 82-85 mph in the sandusky River in Fremont Ohio and the Huron river.

    I do have a question, it’s a bit off-topic. How is that JetSki cart you bought and assembled holding up? I’m thinking about getting one. I just don’t know if it’s worth the money.

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I have a large one I bought from Amazon for my Ultra and then I have a smaller one that a company sent me for free- both actually are holding up very well.
      This is the larger one for the Ultra sized skis: amzn.to/49vQbRQ

    @shawnholiday7386 Před 5 měsíci +1

    how many hours you clocking on that ultra now? waiting to buy until someone shakes it out to 200 hours.

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci

      I am just under 200 hours on the clock and just over 100 on the tensioner itself.

  • @Razorpee
    @Razorpee Před 5 měsíci +1

    Of all the things I could do to my ski where would you rank this? I was considering the filter bypass mod but that would void the warranty. Sorry, where would this rank in terms of mods that wouldn't void the warranty?

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci +1

      1. You won’t ever need the warranty because Kawis don’t crap out like the other brands 2. Adding the tensioner assembly will not void your warranty - although as always- I recommend making sure your ski is in a stock configuration before bringing it to any dealer. This mod is not going to give you and noticeable performance change, but is a major durability upgrade and eliminates the need to remove and grease the stock pivot bushing every 25-50 hours or so.

    • @Razorpee
      @Razorpee Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@JDsWaterWorld so you're saying I need $2,000?! Because proper maintenance is not sexy but necessary and I live the salt life. Pero I'm jonesing for that kspeed tune. If I could only do one which would you recommend first?

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@Razorpee well “need” is a strong word..you actually have a few options 1) unassembled the pivot bushing every 25 to 50 hours grease the components reassemble. 2) you can add a zirk fitting to your stock tensioner and manually add some grease every 25-50 hrs and this way you don’t have to unassemble each time. 3) KP tensioner is maintenance free- just clean it up like I did in this video every 100 hours or so. Choice is yours! The tune is definitely a great choice if you are looking for more speed, but the tensioner is a great choice if you are looking to reduce maintenance time

    How much do the upgraded parts cost if you don’t mind me asking?

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  Před 4 měsíci

      Check the video description for the product link, but I believe it would cost you around $1,000 shipped for the entire salt water tensioner package with all the components in this video. You can purchase just the auto arm, or just the stainless pulley etc as well if the pre-assembled complete package is out of your budget.
