  • Jamie Eade from Brisbane Kawasaki shows you the correct way to flush and fog your Kawasaki Ultra 310 / 300 Jet Ski the correct way.
    1. Flush the intercooler first, ALWAYS. (Motor not running) for 5 minutes.
    The reason for this is, if you have been riding in salt water, flushing the engine first will put hot air intercooler and this will bake the salt crystals into the cooling lines of the intercooler, so when you go to do the intercooler it will be that much harder to free them up.
    2. Get the hose ready and connect it to the engine flush port, but do not turn the hose on.
    (If you have an engine flush solution like our JETSKI FLUSH, now is the time to connect it
    3. Start the engine (FAST KEY) and let the ski idle, you have 15-20 seconds to turn the hose on.
    4. Turn the hose on giving it as much flow as you can.
    5. Check the tell tail has water coming out (this takes 10secs)
    6. Check there is water coming out of the Jet pump / Ride Plate area.
    7. Wait for water to start coming out of the exhaust.
    8. Once ALL 3 have water coming out. Start the timer, 5 minutes minimum. allow the ski to idle and stay near it. (if it stalls turn the water off immediately)
    9. After 5 minutes, turn the water off.
    10. Go back the ski, and give it 3 decent revs. Don't valve bounce it, just 3 decent revs, to blow the water out.
    11. Turn the ski off.
    12. Insert your fogging can nozzle into the fog port, Start the ski spray your fogging fluid for 4 seconds, the engine will start to cough / bog down. Stop spraying and allow the ski to idle normal again. Turn it off.
    13. After at least 1hr has passed, maximum 24hrs, Start the ski once more (FAST KEY), allow it to idle for 10seconds, give it 1 more good rev to blow the last bit of water out of the exhaust.

      Can't really help there, we live in Brisbane and ride all year round. Blow through the line with your mouth. Do you feel resistance? If not resistance, then you can prod the brass barb on the manifold with a coat hanger. Sometimes sand can lodge in there.

    I would like to start blowing through the cooling system which many people and service manuals recommends before longer time storage periods (it's not specifically about Kawasaki skis). What worries me is a possibility to blow remaining water from the nooks and crannies of the system into the motor if an exhaust valve is open. Not even by just pushing it into the motor, but by dragging it with the air stream. Out of tens of winterization videos on CZcams, only one person addresses this. Can you provide your comment on it? Is this possible? If yes, mostly in theory, or in practice as well?

      @BrisbaneKawasaki  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Khlaid, do you have the owners manual that came with your ski? That will explain why you should fog the charger after use.
      In short, you are putting a small amount of anti-corrosive agent over the teflon rotors, to ensure they don't bind together when in storage. The reason you do this is, sometimes you get water in the hull when riding, and the ski is in a marine environment. Salt air and very small tolerances on the supercharger rotors (to create high boost), means it is quite easy for them to bond together if corrosion starts form whilst in storage.
      If you ride the everyday, it wouldn't be necessary but still good practice.

    Hey Jamie! I only ride in fresh water, so how often should the supercharger be flushed? Thanks man, very helpful video as always! 👍👍

    • @BrisbaneKawasaki
      @BrisbaneKawasaki  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Andrew, Depends on how long in between are you riding? If you are riding every day in fresh water, fogging the charger probably isn't all that necessary, but if it is 7 days in between, than a like 4 second fog is good for it.
      It coats the rotors in light anti-corrosive film ensuring it won't cease up when in storage.
      Doesn't hurt if only spraying for 4 seconds, but if you spray until the motor stops, overtime the intercooler will be clogged up and need to be removed and cleaned of oil.

      It would make zero difference on the old gen 300 or 310. It would make a difference on the new gen, as reverse has less throttle curve. So you must blow the water out by first changing from N to D with the accelerator trigger, then giving it the 3 good revs.

      @@MikeCoxsmaul69 Doesn't cause serious damage. What happens is if you have been riding in salt water. then flush the motor first. Any saltwater in the intercooler heats up and the salt bakes onto the fins in the intercooler from the hot air passing through the core. This makes it very hard to remove the salt without extended flush times or extra salt removing additives.
