- Cartoon Network has disappeared for many viewers across the United States, who no longer have access to it and Adult Swim. What's going on with Xfinity, and why is the channel gone? With this move, cable proves that it doesn't have much of a future, while streaming is here to stay.

CN has become a second - rate cable channel due to their viewer decline, they did this to themselves but they didn’t at the same time because of how streaming has just taken over the ball game and how there audience just tends to change from pre teen to toddler so suddenly
Nah, they did it to themselves. They keep cancelling good shows, and tbh if they had a streaming service that functioned like their cable network they could’ve stayed afloat that way. There is going to be a day that cable tv will be history. R.I.P Cable TV
Cable isn't dead nor is it going to die. It's going to find some way to co exist with streaming just like theaters.
My household has been experiencing a similar situation for a little under 3 years now; it will have been exactly 3 years when July 29th comes around and over three years for the remainder of 2021, so the cycle repeats after that 😂. After The Walt Disney Company completed its full acquisition of 21st Century Fox on March 20, 2019, it inherited the entirety of the since-rebranded Fox Sports Networks, including the YES Network (a 26-20-15-13-13-13 joint venture between New York Yankees owner Yankee Global Enterprises, Hunt Valley, Maryland-based Sinclair Broadcast Group, Amazon, The Blackstone Group, RedBird Capital, and Mubadala Investment Company, a public joint-stock company that is owned by the United Arab Emirates government, respectively), which carries the New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Nets, the New York Liberty (WNBA) and New York City FC (MLS). On July 29 of that year, Disney, while in the process of divesting the regional sports networks as required by the United States Department of Justice, entered into a carriage dispute with Englewood, Colorado-based television provider DISH Network, and it remains unresolved to this day. On August 22, almost one month later, Disney sold the regional sports networks to Diamond Sports Group, which is a 50-50 joint venture between Sinclair Broadcast Group and Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, the latter of which is headquartered in the City of Los Angeles's Century City neighborhood and owner of The Weather Channel. That means Diamond Sports Group inherited Disney's side of the carriage dispute with DISH. On January 2, 2020, Diamond Sports Group entered into a carriage dispute with FuboTV; February 29, 2020: the Fox Sports Networks, the YES Network, and the Marquee Sports Network (which had launched exactly one week earlier and is co-owned by Sinclair and the Chicago Cubs) are dropped from CZcams TV; and October 22, 2020, the Fox Sports Networks, the YES Network, and the Marquee Sports Network are dropped from Hulu. On January 27, 2021, Diamond Sports Group announced the Fox Sports Networks would be rebranded as the Bally Sports Regional Networks, due to Bally's Corporation purchasing the naming rights, with Fox Sports Carolinas and Fox Sports Tennessee being discontinued, starting on March 31, 2021. Programming from those two channels has since been shifted over to Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast. The fact that these carriage disputes have remained unresolved is absolutely unacceptable and a slap in the face to consumers and sports fans across the country, specifically DISH Network/Sling TV customers, and subscribers to FuboTV, CZcams TV, and Hulu. And yes, I know this is a long comment lol.

Nearly everyone relies too much on internet or streaming services for entertainment, we have way too many streaming services, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu are plentiful. I remember back in the days where people watched more cable than streaming services, heck I remember the days before Amazon Prime or when Netflix had a website to where you could watch certain programs. Although I still have Cartoon Network on my cable, telling us to go on streaming services to watch something isn’t making me feel better. We have great channels on television such as the TCM, AMC, Smithsonian, Nat Geo Wild and PBS, watching the local news is important, if you love sports you can watch it on cable, commercials can be entertaining to watch and you don’t need internet for cable. I want cable to rise up to it’s former glory.

Comcast owns 33% of Hulu until 2024. After that, Disney will likely buy the remaining share. Disney and Disney XD shows have Disney +, and Nickelodeon shows have Paramount +. Cartoon Network is currently available on both HBO Max and Hulu, but after 2024, they will likely only be available on HBO Max.
This change will also likely mean that Star finally comes to Disney + in the U.S. To make up for the loss of both the Disney content moving to Disney Plus, and the Comcast content moving to HBO Max (if I’m working this out in my head correctly), ESPN+ could be absorbed into Hulu, turning it into Hulu+, since Hulu already has live sports, making the current separation of the two a bit redundant.
Maybe this could be the topic of a video! It’s know it’s really not my place to tell you what to make, but it would be interesting to hear what you think of the subject.
Edit: I have no idea where the Sony Spider Man movies would go. I think that depends on if Apple buys Sony, in which case the film rights would go to Disney. But I’m not even sure about all of those logistics.

What makes me so sad about the slow death of cable is that few people even seem to care, because the entertainment that they care about is either being released on a streaming service or isn’t currently ongoing. Bro i woke up this morning thinking some Gumball was gonna be on but my TV was on a completely different CHANNEL.
I was watching Family Guy/Rick and Morty as usual at night and went to sleep, and then found out the hard way that i can only watch Cartoon Network on my TV in the Den 😐
funny how they think people are gonna spend money on the channel that spams TTG most of the time
its still missing for me rip
Cartoon Network just seems like their on life support... I kinda hate how you won't be able to have a choice between cable services and streaming.
Maybe, but they can't be doing worse than Boomerang, Disney XD, and Nicktoons.
Who even has those anymore, and who wants to pay the unneeded extra money?
THIS DOESNT EFFECT ME ! 😂 I DONT EVEN HAVE CABLE 😳
Tbh, they could’ve bring back old shows like Mixels and give other shows like OK KO a new season and a chance
Just you mention edited Gigi-robo from Chibi-Robo: Plugs into Adventures is heartwarming to not forget him.
My family upgraded to any three of the "Preferred" xfinity cable packages, but when I try to log in to xfinity via adult swim's simulcast page, xfinity assumes that I no longer have Cartoon Network and adult swim despite upgrading the programming packages. Now I can't watch adult swim or the Saturday Toonami shows three hours ahead of the others due to unexplained problems.
Why watch cable and streaming when you can just be a pirate
when i saw the notification for this i clicked so fast i almost broke my phone screen
Best case scenario we get Cartoon Network and other channels via Pluto TV format on HBO Max. AKA custom live streams made exclusively for Max, that way people can still watch content live while not being restricted to cable.
well that answers my question thanks!
