  • Cartoon Network's dark era in the late 2000s surrounded real life shows instead of cartoons. Dude What Would Happen, Destroy Build Destroy, and several other live-action shows aired on CN Real. While the programming block quickly ended, Cartoon Network is about to repeat history.

I was nvr interested in live action from them. Now I can see them putting this stuff on HBO max under the CN logo but to put it on their actual network.....no no. Don't make the same mistakes as before. CN is just not built for live action, not even live action segments in between cartoons like the cartoon cartoons real life hosts.

I feel like cartoon network as a whole would probably fail in about 10 years, as streaming gets more popular, kids really don't toon in to live TV. Honestly, I don't think these live action shows could really affect CN in any way. I just think cartoon network could just fade from existence in 5 years or so.

@@garfieldmain2 but Ben 10 actually worked really well in live action, after Ben 10 Race Against Time came out. Also, I really like the recent live action/animated Tom and Jerry movie. There's nothing wrong with it. And Gumball is already a show mixing animation with live action. Also, every Looney Tunes fan loves Space Jam. You can't argue with that.

I know that Cartoon Network is a network for cartoons, but their programming block Adult Swim started their live action slate (block only; not the entire channel). They were shows that people LOVE. And in 2007, they created a live action show outside of the block that people HATE.

Okay, the news of a new sitcom from Michael Poryes, not under disney's thumb, is something im relatively interested in and hopeful it would do well. But it would be fine animated or in live action and would just fit better on CN by being animated. I hope the show goes well, but I also hope that history repeats itself here, and we start a second renaissance of animation once the new real content flops, save hopefully "Home Sweet Rome"
