I am happy for glitch's success as a indie animation studio. While i prefer their other series Murder Drones more for the plot (and because ep 7 was a joy to watch), TADC made it as their biggest success, and it seems they are going to keep that streak with how the internet took in the second episode. One thing that annoys me is that a lotta people who just say its 'overrated' or 'trash', never actually gave it a chance and hopped on the hate train cause thats cool i guess? Yeh some people actually watched it and didnt enjoy it and all the power to them, as long as they actually tried for themselves and didnt go for the bandwagon of braindead takes

I think this show is just terrible, but even I got hyped at the site of that Japanese pop up shop. Even if it is mostly due to their rabid dork fan base, you can't help but appreciate a youtube indie animation getting off the ground like that. I wish this was happening to one of the better indie projects around, but respect where it is due.

The rise of indie animation is proof that the companies that currently dominate media, have to step up their game and need to adjust to the modern times otherwise the indie creators are gonna end up overtaking the big media businesses (Disney, Sony, Warner brothers, Exc)

This indie cartoon was so big that GLITCH recently had a booth at MomoCon 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. I went on the 2nd day of the con and they sold out of Gummigoo plushies. By Sunday every DC plushie was basically gone. Even on Saturday’s Q&A panel, there was a packed auditorium. I’m glad that it’s getting more attention, with the HotTopic collaboration, with an Annie nomination, with the Pop-Up store in Japan, and with their panel and booth at MomoCon, I wonder how far this show will take GLITCH in the near future.

Tbh, I'm glad this show is gaining traction and I'm glad that people do like it. But I tbh don't like it, that's due to the cesspool of "kids" content it had created which ruined it forever for me

I think what they get right here is mass appeal. Something about the colourful world and cartoony antics just make us feel right at home

The voice actors were told to just swear and that it would be censored after the fact because it’s more natural, so I think this is real.

It does also help that the video has official support of over 16 different languages day one. So, the target audience increases even more and no longer relies on just english audience. Like, i'm from argentina and i've seen some bootleg plushies on my city mobths ago and that was just the pilot.
