BBC crap ,the licence is sold to cover all the expenses and wages and pensions of the very over paid employees.
Not only are they vastly overpaid, but there are far too many of them.

Just lie down and do what the nice lady says. Perhaps she should start to think of what's going to happen to the person who ran the post office!
190,000 a year! That's nothing compared to the CEO of P&O ferries in Dover who evicted 800 British staff immediately replacing them with £3 per hour foreign workers. He was on 350k a year!
@@gardian1701 So this must have been P&O operations outside of the UK? As we have a legal, national minimum wage here.

Same
You`re wrong. It is the business of the BBC if you watch live TV in the UK on any channel, or watch BBCiPlayer.
This is the law whether you like it or not.
If you don`t watch live TV or BBCiPlayer then it is none of the BBC`s business what you watch.
That `they will never know" ( in fact or theory ) is a poor excuse for a potential breaking of Criminal Law.
I don`t have a TV Licence and haven`t had one in 15 years, but only on the grounds that I don`t watch BBCiPlayer or live television.
If I did watch live TV or the BBC and / or BBCiPlayer then I would be in possession of a current license - in compliance with the law.

Why do I need to pay £160 to watch ITV or CHANNEL 4 LIVE when 100% of the tv licence money goes to the BBC ???
That’s what I don’t understand and “what” is the answer to that question ??
@@user-jl2rq3pd5i its 'cause in the past there was only bbc, up to 1955ish when itv started, and the law wasnt changed, there was no way back then to tell what someone was watching or restrict people from watching bbc channels if they didnt have a licence, these days they could quite easily, encrypt the signal , and supply a decoder and viewing card for those that want bbc and pay the licence , all my tvs have a 'conditional access module' slot for exactly that purpose, but theyre at least 7 years old, i dont know if current tv models still have one...

If you look at the breakdown of the "fine" £120 is for court fees plus another £16 which i think is an admin fee, the ACTUAL fines are normally £40 to £50 going on one of your previous videos.
Hello chilli
I stopped paying it 2 years ago thanks to this channel. I still get a letter every month informing me I will get a visit. No-one ever calls round. In the two years I've not paid that's £320 they haven't had off me and the cost of the 20 odd letters they've sent me must be another £50. At this rate and by 2033 (if I'm still alive) I've worked out the BBC will have spent another £320 in postage trying to get me buying the licence again.
I used to be a BBC fan. I watched everything they put out. Then, around the turn of the Century they lost their way and began preaching to the public and producing crap programmes. Around the same time, the rise of the internet changed the way we live and operate. EG: Don't waste an hour watching Question Time. If you miss two good minutes, that clip will be on You Tube on Friday morning. Did you miss a controversial red card on MOTD? Don't worry, it'll be on YT Sunday morning. This applies to nearly everything on TV. Why waste hours watching absolute crap when the few juicy bits are on YT within 24 hours?
I've been getting letters since the year 2000... zero knocks on the door in all that time. (in the letters they claim they knock on 10,000 doors a day!)
When I was a kid I saw one of these vans, a bedford type with rounded roof sides and a large silver dish on it. Following the van were 3 men dressed in black suits and bowler hats. They were near home and would go to the van and then seemingly randomly go knocking on doors. I went home and told my mum, she said its ok we have a black and white tv license. This was in the mid-1980s
I really do want to buy this man a pint. I'm going to keep commenting this until Jon responds. Love your content by the way, Jon.

Then the letters stopped and then found out my wife bottled it and now she pays it, we have not watched no live tv never recorded any tv since having sky some 20 years ago.
I asked my wife why she’s paying it and said it’s not worth the hassle of being fined, for the sake of the fee.
I said I’ll stop paying the mortgage then and you pay it, but £700 a month I don’t think she’ll pay 😂

I am on the outside looking in, since I live in the US.
All TV here are based on the subscription model, regardless if you consume TV through a traditional cable/satellite TV provider or through streaming services (Netflix, Fubo TV just off the top of my head).
Sure we complain about the amount of ads on TV, but at least we do not have to pay a TV licence fee. Everything is supported by ads.
I am not sure why the BBC is adamant on not going commercial? It has worked for the rest of the world and it WILL work for the BBC.
Again, I would like to reiterate, I am on the outside looking in, as I live in the US.
I don't watch it, I don't pay for it.

I just tried the TV Licensing website to cancel my license, selected NO to all, and still says 'I need a license'. Has anyone else tried it recently?
I cancelled mine after the wife died 4 years ago, gave my details. I closed my joint account at the bank so it was solely in my name and then the BBC decides to send me a cheque for the refund in her name. I was well annoyed when I phoned them up to complain.
BlackBeltBarrister tried that a while back. Even he said the questions were misleading!!
I've just done this, answered no to the first 4 questions and yes to the last 2. Says I don't need a TV license. They way they've worded the last 2 questions differently to the first 4 is done on purpose to try and confuse people. Q5 is "Can you confirm that you and your household never watch BBC iPlayer*?"
