Capita. Thats a laugh I reported over 150 Kiwis and Aussies who worked against thier casual work permits. All of them did not pay the TV Licence fee worked illegally. When I reported them they said please do not bother us again! SOo dont bother us the British public with your bullyboy tactics. How dare you have the timerity to bully the OAP, the poor the unemployed yet employ people against the conditions of thier work permit! I reported them to the Home Office and Miss Mclusky did naff all! Had this been ocurring in NZ or Aussieland they would have been an outcry! i did tell them it was harrassment, i got the police involved after a goon visit, said i would sue them (of cos no solicitors wanted to take on the BBC/TVL) but guess what, no letters in 20 years now. it's extortion/fraud tricking people to pay for something they don't want
As BBB has stated, 'enforcement' has a legal meaning, inferring that a warrant exists, which it doesn't.

Tell them they may come in but they have to pay for your solicitor to be there. You are perfectly entitled to do that if they are INSISTING in coming into your house without a search warrant. No need to withdraw implied right of access which plays into their hands.

Capita, tv licensing . By knocking/ ringing the bell you agree to this contract .charges of £50 per minute for the privilege of talking to myself or anybody that opens the door . 24 hour cctv in operation. For use in court for the time you spend talking at the door .

This harassment from tv licencing, along with their efforts to cause alarm and distress, needs testing in court.
I've researched this. Take first the case of Cliff Richard, he was awarded £210,000 but it cost him £3.1m to sue them.
In short, the BBC has huge funds to access the best defence. Strategically, to win against the BBC, one has to systematically erode their wealth and they know this - the balance of harassment and misinformation from the BBC causes people who don't need a TV license to buy just out of fear - this is how the BBC survives. The way to win against the BBC is through education and everything @chillijoncarnie is correct.
We had a salesman round the other day. They must be desperate considering where we live. One of our dogs tried to bite him through the fence. He said it was procedure to get my wife’s name, she told him she didn’t care about their procedure.
TV Licencing are advertising on the LBC radio station now, with funky music in the background, trying to make it sound trendy.

They are indeed, and on every other commercial station (I'm a delivery driver so I hear it many times per day), however, as my young daughter has pointed out, "if it is advertised, then you do not need it". Same goes for EE/Vodaphone very heavily advertised, and very expensive too.

Most of the licensing fee is theft by the board of directors. they own private production companies that get 10s of millions a year EACH to produce the crap that the BBC produces. So they make some cheap-ass reality tv or shitty gameshow dross, and pay themselves say £15million as the owner of the company that made it.
This is ON TOP of their 100s of thousands BBC salary for doing fak all.

I'm an Autistic luddite pensioner whose licence ran out at the end of last month and am not going to renew as I am not going to be watching live tv or BBC iplayer.I did look at filling in the no licence required but it was so complicated now that I decided not to in case I accidentally incriminated myself.Thank you for this video as it gives me the knowledge to deal with them.
I’m pretty sure you can ring them and tell them you don’t need a licence. No need to give them anything other than your reference, address and maybe name. (I’m not 100% sure on the name as it’s been quite a while since I did it) just keep telling them you have no need for a TV licence and don’t watch anything their service covers. They’ll keep trying to mess you about but keep telling them you don’t need a licence over n over till they give up and have to put the exemption on

I had exactly the same 15th March letter on Monday. I removed the address etc and then stuck it in the recycle bin. I have been here for just under two years and I am still the 'legal occupier'. Great investigation

I had this letter, I phoned and asked what time they were coming. After 3 different managers the last one said they wouldn’t be round! I said if you don’t come round on that date and I have taken a day off I will be putting in a claim for lost wages. This put them into panic!!! I also said I will be reporting to the ICO for misleading letters. Bunch of scammers!!

I've had 3 of these 'expect a visit' letters so far. I happenened to be at home each time but no one turned up. I'm sure that some more nervous people might actually stay in all day, maybe even taking a day off work. It's about time to call out Crapita's bully boy tactics.
Can they put a claim in to Capita for lost earnings? Send them a threatening letter? I've never had a visit around the date stated.
It would be great if one of the ambulance chaser law firms were to start a no cure no pay class action against BBC/Capita for harassment.
Could we crowd fund a legal case against these poxy threatening letter's.

I have always done the "No License Needed" declaration and never had a visit because of it and it stops the letters until the declaration "expires" after 2 years. Although I could be one of the lucky ones.
As you said imagine having to tell every company that you don't need their services like the BBC want you to do with their TV license. What a farce.
Really? I cancelled the "proper" way and got a cash refund. Letters started within weeks followed by two goon visits.

Bin the shit is what I done! 26 years later guess what? Same shit different day "to the occupier" filed under B for bucket! Tell those numptys nothing, don't phone them, you are not obliged to get in touch with them. Last but not least enjoy yourself your licence free, the way to be!

I got the same letter yesterday, i binned it straight away. I haven't watched the BBC for a few years now. The last time someone called to my door about the licence, i was caught unaware, as soon as i clocked who it was i slammed the door in his face.

A question…..we’re told that BBC receives £3.7 billion from TV licences , soon to become £4 billion. If 80,000 people a month are jacking the licence how come these figures never alter. Someone is not giving the correct information here ?????

Last tv licence inspector that knocked on my door put his foot in doorway so I couldn’t close it , I pushed him out so hard he fell flat on his back , that was 20 years ago and I’ve never had another visit from them since but I still keep getting loads of letters from them

Lol, I got the same letter this morning 06/03, I marked it on the calendar just to make sure I'm in.
I had a visit about 3 weeks ago, that was after a year's worth of letters "I normally go onto their no licence required site, but that no longer works correctly" I answered the door to them informing them I had never owned a TV let along viewed any live programmes ever at this address, they jotted something down and stated that they will update the system accordingly and I then received a letter last week informing me that a visit has been scheduled for my address? I always find it funny that letters are addressed to the occupier and not the addressee "Could using a name on the letters be classed as harassment after receiving a certain number"
Yes, that's why they change it to 'legal occupier' as if it named a particular person then it could be declared as harassment or stalking.

BBB has shown how these false threats of enforcement could be harassment in law. A housing association used similar void threats and were found to have acted illegally.

I'm coming up to a year since I let my licence expire as I didn't need one anymore. I've got a nice collection of letters, but they never follow up on their threats. I'm quite disappointed as I was hoping to see how they would cope with the electric gates and intercom! 😅
I've taken to turning their unopened post, marked "return to sender".
It's funny, the first few times as soon as they received it they'd send another, but after a few times of this happening I've not had another (yet).
I send them back, but still get a monthly letter - That also gets sent back ...!!

I filled in the online declaration so I could cancel my License over a year ago, so they have my name and address.
I haven't had a visit or a letter since I did "the I don't need a Television License" declaration. I've probably just been lucky so far.
It's just unreal the intimidation and aggressive letters that I see on your CZcams channel. It's actually your channel, that gave me the confidence to finally cancel and thank you for it.

Try living in NE uk Enforcement officers at the door every other week, the same bloke turned up twice. Letters coming every week...........I had to ring them up in the end. Up to now no more visits but I have had another letter grrrrr these people are a shocking.

In the 16 years or so I've lived here the Jehovah's have only managed to knock on the door about 3 times. The local Tory candidate knocked once too. Never TV licensing. It's a shame as I've perfected the "no thank you" on those previous visitors mentioned.

It's time people took out a mass lawsuit for harassment and distress. If any other entertainment provider tried this to get subscriptions they would be prosecuted. And yes, the licence fee is simply a subscription. As such it should be a civil debt like not paying your Sky bill...

Sadly, I do listen to BBC sounds, which requires a login, but no licence. As a result, I had to keep it active😢 bit of a shame, as I'd love to cut all ties with the BBC but I love the Goons from 1958!!

I had one turn up on the day last week but i am disabled and don't answer the door anyway unless its someone i know. Don't watch tv and the ariel blew over and has been laying on the roof for a few years which is clearly visible to anyone outside but they send quite intimidating letters on a weekly basis.

I've been receiving this cycle of threatening letters since 2015. For a significant number of those years there was no house here because I knocked the old one down. Since then I have been building the new one, still the letters come . I will not contact them and to the best of my knowledge no one has visited - certainly whilst I have been here!!

we have a notice on our security door that any vendors attempting to enter the building Will be prosecuted. and TV licence salesman is a vendor.

If you get letters from BBC and it's addressed to the occupier you can stop the letters by contacting the post office.😊

When I was a mature student I took a television set to Uni and put it in the common room as I do not really watch TV, all the students (except me) chipped in to purchase a TV licence, STILL GOT A VISIT despite having a licence.
