- Brand new for the 2020-2023 L5P platform, the Banks Ram-Air intake is a game-changer. With 2020-2023 Duramax engines, GM has further tightened the allowable range for induction tuning. To counter this, Banks engineers have designed a new patented Air Mass Control Module that allows an intake design to go beyond these limitations for truly unmatched airflow performance.
With a Big-Ass filter, huge induction tube, and a unique bellowed silicone coupler to allow for engine movement while tapering down to increase air density, your Duramax L5P engine will breathe easy and cleanly. Its enclosed airbox design keeps power-robbing heat away and attaches to the OEM hood and front ram air scoops for even better performance at speed. An extra side inlet opens up to the wheel well for fresh air and owners will enjoy stronger induction sound.

Mine is getting installed as I watch this video. The derringer, pedal monster and monster exhaust as well. I can’t wait!
This is great! It gives solid, engineering reasons why a customer should prefer Banks, and compares directly the Banks product with its competitors. Well done!
he done all talking and didn't prove the so called engineering reasons aka theories with DATA
I have one on my 2018 L5P, with boost tubes, and the 5" exhaust. There is a marked improvement, in power and mileage. Damn good products!
How much of improvement?
@@joeb.8625, the average mileage picked up about 2MPG. My butt-dyno says there is at least 20 more HP. It's a noticeable difference. I will say that it is every bit that Banks claims.
any noise difference truthfully? I am really considering you're setup!
@@TPH9311 , no sir. No noticeable sound difference
just got it and i love it!!
I almost feel like I need to go buy a truck to get one of these Ram-air systems. 10/10
I am patiently waiting to try mine out. Just need it to hurry up and ship.
Thanks so much for answering my request. Can't to see the Banks Ram-Air for 2020-22 Ram 6.7L
This was very well Explained and very Informative, thank you.
It's the kind of video I expect. It shows a measured change chart and the physical differences, plus the advantages of the physical changes. What it doesn't show for some strange reason is the net difference in dynoed horsepower or gas mileage.
I hope you have one coming out for the 3.0 LM2 / LZ0 Duramax diesel !
Filtration is a good thing!
You guys need an updated video because on a lot of other install videos the piping looks different. It’s what makes me hesitant to order one. Put out an updated video for l5p banks products. Would appreciate one on the new turbo inlet pipe as well. For 2020+
I installed this on my 2022 2500HD. After 2 weeks I got Air Filter error message. Banks just me sent me a sensor but I haven’t had time to install the new one yet. Hopefully it fixes the issue. The only other issue is that the seal around the hood inlet could have been designed better as it comes off air box fairly easy. I do have the Banks intake, exhaust and Boost Tubes. Very happy with both throttle response and MPG improvement.
How is everything currently working out?
I still get the Air Filter error message every so often but I happy over all.
I'm really not into aftermarket intakes. But if Banks makes it, I'd trust it.
I have a 2022 Nissan Frontier btw lol
When’s the derringer for the new cummins going to be ready?
I wonder what they are going to do about the engine code P22FB that these things cause? I installed the ram air on my 2020 gmc about a month ago and got this code after about 500 miles. Turns out they dont do a very good job of "tricking the ecm".
Do you have any performance numbers before and after installation of the cold air intake with a stock 23' 6.6L Duramax truck with and without a tune with no other mods?
Does adding an CAI cause any warranty or EPA issues?
Thank you in advance for any comments you have.
So can you talk about the pipe after the tubo, is the things for performance with the idash.
So, When is Banks Power going to make a video for the Banks Ram-Air for 2020-22 Dodge Ram 6.7L : Features & Benefits & competitive Analysis???
And also talk about the Intake Silencer that comes on the Dodge Ram 6.7L engine. Is it really needed ?????? I'm waiting. Thanks
That maf controller i believe makes the ECU/PCM think you have a stock airbox/tube.
Lets see a dyno run comparison
You guys have one for the 2024 chevy 3500's that wont throw codes and ships slightly quicker that cold molasses?
I have one installed on my 2020. Only complaint I have is the vibration in the throttle pedal at take off and when shifting under light throttle.
Hi I saw your Instal video It help me installing mine thank you and did you ever think of switching back to the stock airbox to see if your vibration goes away?
How does it compare to others such as hsp like or the WCF
I’m interested in the product, but how well does it do to filter the air compared to factory? Thanks
Looks like an AWESOME product! Does the air filter need to be oiled, like a K&N filter?
I'm pretty sure you can get an oiled or dry version
@@spencercampbell8396 I really appreciate the oiled versions of air filters. I've been running, cleaning and reusing them for years and 100K plus miles without any issues.
What the actual HP and torque gain?
Does increased dust collection result in improved reliability? My truck came with plenty of performance. Why not have improved reliability too?
Side air inlet on the ram air? Looks like it will suck in hot air from engine bay through there!! Good thing i saw this video before ordering!!
There are three air inlets on the 20-23 L5P Duramax Ram Air Intake. No port opens directly to the engine bay where you would be drawing hot air.
1. The top that draws in air through the factory hood scoop.
2. From the front that connects to the core-support tubing.
3. Passenger side fender wall.
LM2 derringer pretty please?
My banks elbow change Color. Rainbow discolouration appears few days after installation 🤨
I just got my on 1/12/24 with the tube boost kit, and after I read lot of comments from CZcams videos and say they have some issues I’m still thinking if I want to install in my 2023 Duramax 6.6. Anyone here still have issues?
Thanks
I don't need an L5P for a daily driver....is Banks in the works for a CAI for the 3.0 Duramax, and now the new LZ0 ??
I see flow rate numbers how about real world hp and throttle response? Also real world fuel economy?
This is great now if only I could get the one I paid for 4 months ago :(
Yep been 2 months for me . They even said they were shipping mine 2 weeks ago for sure
Same here
So what is the reason for the delay?
Post Dyno number increase for another selling point would be great.
I'm not sure it actually increases power on my 2023 chevy 2500. It does increase throttle response and it has a cool grumble sound.
The power gain is probably not noticable
I just got mine and it seems good so far. My only two gripes.
1. Why is the lower box only supported by a singular flimsy bolt?
2. The filter doesn't fit in the lower box channel? It won't snap in until the top ram is squishing it in place.
How long did it take too arrive. ?
How much does this help with mpg?
Will running one of these void the factory warranty?
What's the part number? Maybe I missed it. Will it fit a 2024?
This thing is back ordered forever. The WcFab still looks way better
I will probably leave the one on there, that was installed when GM built it, when the warranty runs out I will trade in for a new one, the factory one works just fine for me, I often tow a 15000 trailer with a 9000-12000 skid steer or excavator
I mean if you wanna miss out on improvements then go ahead.
LM2 Ram Air intake and Derringer please!!!
👍
A maf sensor is just a heated resistor that changes resistance with temperature so yeah why not just include a new sensor with the correct values? Price?
Yes, the physical wire in the MAF sensor hasn't changed since its inception. However, it's no longer an analog sensor. This new digital signal and data that the sensor communicates to the ECM has changed a lot. Not only does the sensor report Air Mass, but it also has a barometric sensor that measures pressure. For example, if you put a K&N or high-flow filter in the stock airbox, it'll set a code because it's flowing too much air. The ECM thinks the stock filter is so clogged that it's sucked it into the intake tube, allowing air to flow around the filter unrestricted and unfiltered. In short, there's a lot more going on in air intakes in vehicles 2020 and newer.
Good afternoon, where can you buy that complete system for a GMC Sierra Denali 2024 gas
The intake is not available at the moment, we are developing the 2024+ DMAX. This version varies from the 20-23 intakes with changes to the tubing and MAF module to work with the GM ECU emissions changes. To sign up for the "On sale" alert, this link 👉🏻 bankspower.com/products/chevy-gmc-2500-3500-6-6l-diesel-ram-air-intake-system-42120
Does this still connect to the hood scoop or is it eliminated?
This intake will make use of the factory hood scoop.
What does this do to the vehicle warranty
Banks?? Good question
Do I need to make any other modifications before installing this new intake?
No
@Banks Power do I need the obdII splitter to run the pedal monster and the deringer tuner?
@@reefkeeper_zay2750 Not sure why they never responded. The Deringer and iDash plug into the Pedal Monster. Only iDash plugs into the OBDII port. On the L5P 2020+, using a splitter on your OBDII is very problematic.
Dyno Numbers?
what's the difference between the oiled and the dry??
One is wet one is dry 😅
Would be nice to have 1 for the 1999-2013(LS) and 2014-2022(LT) Gas Trucks
YYYEESSSS.
No need for it.
Banks make them for the LS based trucks. It's the banks ram air.
@@allanb3222 they make them for the 1500s. Not the 2500/3500 with mechanical fans.
@@jerryreyes3358 The op just asked For LS engines, he didn't state which model.
When is coming out for the 2024 L5P?
We do not have an eta at this time because we are still developing and testing the Ram Air intake and the Derringer. The 2024+ L5P Duramax trucks have a new updates for emissions regulations and new computer systems. Because of these changes, they are even more sensitive to any major changes like air flow rate and temp. We must work with these changes an unfortunately that has forced us to change harness and programming on the MAF module that is included with the Ram Air intake and the Derringer tuning.
I just installed mine on a 2023 gmc denali 2500 and right away the check engine light turned on
What did you do take it off?? Or is your check engine light still on??
does this mean your going to redesign the 17-19 l5p intake
No, 2020+ has a different layout and emissions rating than the 17-19.
So Duramax tuner had an intake shootout why didn’t banks provide an intake? Where are the dyno results? With initial intake for the early L5p Banks had dyno results,
That vid is over a year old
Will this install void my factory GMC warranty?
We'd suggest checking with your service advisor. Then you'll know for sure whether they're cool with the accessories like the Ram-Air Intake. Treat the intake as you would with altering the truck’s suspension. Most dealerships understand upgrade or custom accessories are harmless, however, some dealers are not as forgiving.
@@bankspower Thamks for the response, looks like I’m unable to purchase this product in California !
Still no dyno numbers…😢
so, I guess y'all don't read peoples comments ... Still waiting to see the video for the Banks Ram-Air for 2020-22 Dodge Ram 6.7L
Good news. A video for the RAM 6.7L is in the works and will be posted shortly after the New Year. As an aside, the Dodge name was dropped from the truck lineup 2010. Since then, they've been RAM.
No one else can make it china has entered the chat
I installed the ram air system and Derringer on my 2020 Duramax L5P. Check engine light came on. They sent me a new module installed the new module still regents more often then before installing. My fuel mileage has not improved under the same driving conditions. As far as I can concerned the ram air system is a WASTE of money.
So the product is not good for high dust environments. It's made for the city.
And it's all for nothing is you can't deliver them!
No way that patent is valid, the maf translator/safc/safr have been doing something similar for 20+ years.
We appreciate you watching commenting. We'd like to add some clarification. We are not claiming that we invented MAF manipulation. You are right, MAF correction has been used in tuning for decades. However, with patent 11193441, we may prohibit the sale of MAF modifiers when combined with aftermarket intakes. This patent does affect anyone altering MAF via ECM tuning, or even the sale of stand-alone MAF modules. It prevents the sale of MAF modules WITH aftermarket intakes, specifically.
@@bankspower That sounds more plausible, but still easy to get around, might not be an all in one package like you provide though.
I ordered this part back in Jun and still haven't received my intake, they already took the money out of my account and everything since late July.. customer service sucks ass! reached out multiple times and seems like everyone over there ran out of fucks to give, cause I have not heard back from them once, and that was it. was planning on ordering more stuff from y'all guys, but if y'all customer service that bad, fuck all that.
As always, we'll done!
This helps the new trucks, what about something a little older? Can l get a " Big Ass Filter " for my L.B.Z. DURAMAX, 2006 G.M.C. H.D. 4X4?

When will I get mine????? 5 to 6 weeks out. on a pre order....
