    Hey Nick, love all your videos! I'd be very curious to see what this same test would do with a Banks intake on it because of Gale stating that he's the only one with a true larger intake tube all the way through versus the others having a larger intake tube that bottle necks down to factory size.

      @Duramaxtuner  Před 7 měsíci +4

      @Midlifeglamping We requested an intake from Banks to put in this test but it was still in R&D when we requested it and did these tests. There may be another intake shootout coming in the future which should have a banks intake in the group so keep an eye out for that.

    Would love to see the Banks intake tested. They have numbers, but it's on a bone stock truck. So wonder how it would do with the turbo, tune combo you used in your test. But the general idea I'm getting from this test is unless you throw a tune on the truck, an intake is not worth it. Seems like the truck does not know what to do with the extra air flow on the stock tune.

    Speaking on the sealed or no sealed part of the video. Two weeks ago a relative drove my duramax through a wash and the intake I have did nothing to block the water and somehow dirty water got in my filter and took out my turbo. I have an HSP intake on my LML and yeah but now I gotta buy another 68mm turbo 💀 and I know they make those water proof filter cover things but I just never got one. Also the HSP intakes are completely open underneath them, you can see all the way to the ground if you look from the top down.

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @manuelestrada4705 There is no re-learn process for mass air flow calibration. It is always pre-determined in the tune. Being that we used a 50-state tune in all the tests, the intakes were all tested using the same mass air flow calibration to provide fair results.

    Question is how do these perform under on road circumstances. Say 90° ambient temps pulling 20k. Do they pull hot air in and cause power changes or do they keep cool air coming in and still add power found on the dyno?

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  Před 6 měsíci

      @shanewhitmer3840 Any changes in ambient air temperature will have an effect on the outcome. However, pulling in ambient air will always be cooler than under hood temperatures once the vehicle is up to temp. That being said, all of the data that we present in this video should be an accurate reflection of the difference in performance that you can expect out of these intakes. The load you are pulling will only have an effect on the air the engine is demanding so you will most likely see your greatest gains in performance under a heavy load.
